Hi to all.... As I have posted elsewhere, Joel and I have been busy earning our livings after years of study, and have had to limit our playing together somewhat. We really enjoy it when we get to perform, and we expect that other opportunities will occur such as Duncan Gardiner's recent journey back to the early days of Queensland musical activities. Creating interesting videos has always been a challenge and we don't believe that everything we play is suitable for RUclips. I have been considering posting some earlier performances which at the time were considered to be less interesting for the audience, but in retrospect they may see the light of day yet. Many thanks for all the positive comments ... they are really appreciated. Marissa.
Trato de traducir, pero entiendo que como buenos artistas que son, aprecian los agradecidos comentarios de quienes disfrutamos de esta música. Es así, la perseverancia más el talento, producen estos maravillosos resultados. ¡Gracias!
While I am not a mandolin player I have enjoyed these performances especially of Joel and yourself. I am an aged classical guitar tragic (didn't start to learn until I was 66) and wish I had at least a tiny smidgen of your talents. Please upload the performances to which you allude . I am sure they will be more than well received
Hi Marissa. We would love to hear more!! Please post up some earlier performances on your channel, if possible. Hope you are well and busy enjoying life :) Also I hope you play some more once again and keep your channel active. It’s truly Inspirational and amazing to me. Thank you!!! Joey from Sydney
Marissa, Your divertimento for 2 mandolins and guitar from Perth a dozen or so years ago is among my favorite pieces of music. I'm surprised it's not included in this RUclips site. Please add that and/or something new. 4 yrs! I hope we haven't lost you. Bruce Forrest, Boca Raton, FL, US.
Absolutely beautiful !. A joy. Such delightful sounds !. Splendid ! x . Just an afterthought, it would be so nice if the video, had included just a little more time to take in the applause for the artists. So often the end of terrific performances are truncated x x.
Wonderful! So glad to see you back on RUclips, Marissa. I hope this is the first of many new videos! I love your playing and the passion with which you approach the music.
Hi Peter..... you may be interested in this link ruclips.net/video/ACxj_P-MdzQ/видео.html It's from Duncan's channel and uses 3 cameras. All the videos I have posted over the years were shot and edited by my Dad and only one camera was used with some post-production to keep them visually interesting where possible. Lighting in churches is always a challenge and usually isn't very flattering. Many thanks for watching and your comments. Regards... Marissa.
Thank You, Peter. No problem with your thoughtful comments. My Dad is also a Classical guitarist and we used to perform together. He was more than happy to hand over the musical side to Joel and concentrate on the videos. Incidentally, the link I included above seems to be broken and is replaced by this one (from Duncan Gardner's channel.) ruclips.net/video/mh75UfVNY7Y/видео.html
Amazing Marissa! Keep up the great music. I came across your talent after seeing Avi Avital in Sydney last year performing. Beautiful song below: ruclips.net/video/9OJ0bsyIryc/видео.html You both are inspirational people. Hope you come to Sydney to perform one day.
No way dude! You may suggest that Marrissa's playing has taken a back burner to the realities that be, but that can always change later.... Go pick on some silver spoon spoiled brat who never was made to walk the line! Nothing worse in this world than that. Nice piece, a little mellow, but hey! Marrissa and Joel will bust out more I'm sure. Congratulations on your hard work! It will reflect in "your" music!

Wonderful, sound is great not sure about the lighting - makes you look very pale and seems to be directly on you. Shame there are no close ups.

Beautifully performing quartet. The piece, however, doesn't allow the brilliance of the once fantastic duet Marissa /Joel to emerge...
ghent dear
