These ants are really tiny in real life. Less than 5mm in length in fact. The whole setup is probably no longer than 8 inches. Mikey has a crazy good macro lens, so you can’t really tell how small they are!

Yanno, I was googling how to keep these tiny black ants away from my mealworm farm (bearded dragon food) and stumbled upon your videos, i've been non stop watching since.. I've always found ants fascinating, I love the presentation of your colony progression, I learned more in 6 videos than i ever have from most "animal planet" type shows.
So a bit of extra info: the tail squirming is actually just reflexes. So technically the tail part is dead. Worms don't really have a lot of nutritional value as it's content is mostly water (which is why you would not see much of a corpse or waste).

Well, the actual worm lives on. And I read most insects and worms have a very simple neuro system and cannot feel pain. This is at least the best outcome for the worm instead of being killed and then fed entitely I guess
I understand that this might go against your ethics. However, I'd like to see something like this on a larger scale. Whether you put in multiple worm tails or other prey, I think it would be interesting to see if the ants could handle a battle on multiple fronts. Love what you're doing with the chanell!

Right before the feeding bit, i was "ambushed" by a ad of the ants: underground kingdom showing a caterpillar being killed by ants unethically. I think this is the most coincidental thing that hapened on youtube
