Cool video I recall working at Cam 1 Jenny Lind Island as an equipment operator in Canada and one of our consol operators came into the bar after his shift and after some small talk he mentioned that he heard that Dye 2 had been abandoned. The back story was that every few years an engineering company from Schenectady New York would come up on the ski C130 Hercules and use fancy levelers and plum the building to make it level but refused to this time and the site members had a meeting and declared an emergency as the building was leaning. Not sure how much it was leaning but shortly after that a memo showed up on the bulletin board that read the deactivation of the Dewline which in Canada started in 1991 and was finished in 1993. I believe the Alaska sites stayed open for several more years not sure about Dye sites. Like you guys say noisy plane but a cool job.
