Oh my gosh, they are all adorable! When I bonded Harriet and Clementime.I had a neutral area and they were in a playpen . I had a nice big pile of hay. That was it. It was intense at first, gave a little romaine and they chilled. I didn't have them in the bonding for more than a couple hours before I moved them in their home. I have heard, the process can start again and can take a week to two weeks for them to settle. I found the best thing, at least in my situation or with a dominant piggie or solo piggie who has been on their own, less is more in the home. I kept a hay pile, a couple fiddle sticks or small round soft seats. A couple tunnels or a couple hideys with the hay piles. I would rotate. Two of one thing, anything more, they would have a hard time. My girls are like sisters and I followed bonding as hard as it was as emotions can be hard especially coming from just a solo to more than one piggie. Thank you Val for sharing if I ever want to increase my skinny love!
I’ve never had the bonding process re start when moving them to the cage after being in the intro area overnight. I’ve found that if you move them too soon to the cage then it can cause tension. But yes they do tend to continue to adjust for a couple of weeks and it can be tough to watch sometimes: I’m so glad Harriet and Clementine have each other! You’ve done a good job with them!
