making this for my grandkids! Grandma this grandma that... Old grandpa stepping up his game!
worlds best grandpa alert
This is so wholesome
Awesome video, ultra clear, clean, and constructive, unlike some other mod videos where a 2mega pixel camera is shaking saying 'DONT REMOVE THIS AT ALL'
Well damn, you really buffed that nerf.
LMFAO xD
Stop
where has the parts list gone
😣😣😣😣
Love how intuitive the tutorial is. Wish more people made them like this. Very clear instructions and camera angles. Beautiful work. This video will last forever on youtube.
ive been waiting for someone to make the sledgefire practical! ive always been a fan of how the barrel break operates, so this is a must-do mod! keep up the great work, love how in depth and fleshed out your vids are!
Your mod guides are by far the best and most thorough I have seen. Keep up the good work :D
+Element Zer0 :D Planning on it!
Wow, it has been a while since I have seen a mod video this well done!
Thank you for the video, I am starting one of these for my wife today.
+Dart Beard Your welcome.
-Justin
This is one of the best mod guides that I have ever seen.
Very beginner friendly and easy to follow.
Thank you so much for this.
I will let you know how the mod goes on my sledgefire.
+SheriffBones Sweet. :D Thanks.
-Justin
This is one of the best mods I've seen yet. But personally, I would leave the stock attatched, and superglue some of the shells into it for spare dart storage.
+Connor Metz We've since reattached the stock because it also makes a great place to attach a camera to -R
I just used your recommended spring to upgrade my sledgefire, awesome video! Thank you!😁👍
Just followed this exact mod - SUPER STOKED with it and the mod itself turned out easier that I first thought. Thanks heaps for the vid MTB.
You're welcome. :D
-Justin
i cant find 16 20 and 25 milimeter pipes in america plz help
llkkjgg 973 I have the same problem will 1/2" 3/4" and 1" work.
I am having the same problem :/
Imagine coming to a nerf tournament with like two hammer shots and this dude comes in with his modded self ejecting double barrel sledge fire that hits so hard it makes the other kids cry
Man nice mod guide guys I had no idea you can that kind of FPS from a sledgefire
Super fun mod. It's hard to find conduit in these sizes in the US however. I was able to make a brassed version using 1/2 inch conduit with 1/2" open caps that I dremmeled down. For the barrel I used 9/16 brass with a 1/2 inch of inlaid 17/32 to hold the dart in the breech. Getting roughly the same FPS as the video. As a bonus you also get a really satisfying pop sound. Keep up the great content guys.
Nice video very helpful for my sledgefire!
awesome guide. I love it 🙌
love your aussi mate so many american nerf moders
Great vid, trying this now. FYI in this vid it looks like the spring is right terminating. The spring from bunnings now is left terminating and this makes loading the spring extremely difficult. Also we found using the exact knife to cut was to dangerous, was easier to just use the needle nose players to eat away at the plastic
DAT haircut tho. Rockin the Edgar Alan Poe.
+make.test.battle this is awesome!
I have been a subscriber since 170 subs 😳
I'm from the states and even US conduit works. Thanks for the idea!
I loooove this video this is very simple to follow
Nice colored darts, Christmas colors and rebelles
Would this work with mega darts and just use the 20mm conduit pipe as a barrel for them?
Yep!
Make.Test.Battle Ok sweet. Thanks guys!
Although I think you actually want the 25mm pipe but I can't remember -R
@@MakeTestBattle sweet I'm gonna make mine shoot Rival rounds
25mm HD conduit (the orange stuff) is a perfect fit for Mega darts. You'll need to trim parts of the outer barrel too, even if you just want a short barrel. If you want a longer one, I'm not sure how to do that easily.
Great video, very detailed
I heard u liek mudkipz
YOU GUYS AND YOUR CHANNEL ROOOOOCKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!
I just bought one. I’m going to mod it just like you did.
Hey I am sorry but I am in Canada and my Home Depot only has 1/2in 3/4in and 1in pipe what do I do please help
1/2 in cpvc should serve you well.
I like the 3 shot part so I most likely won't change that part but I will be upgrading to.a 13kg spring and adding brass barrels as well as removing the air restrictors and adding the foam and stuff like you're doing in this video
Finally somebody shows how to change the spring
omg as soon as he took his hand off the barrel my phone notification went off
well, I never got the C-836 to seat properly, seemed like it was too big for the white internals shell. reverted to the original spring but with the other parts of the mod and despite using the stock spring this is gnarly!
Any alternatives to the inlet valve washer? I cant seem to find any in my area
This is more like giant sharp fire.. nice one
Tested mine on the weekend extremely consistent (10 shots) 127fps with fvjs and (3shots)155-157fps with elites and mid to high 90s with double loaded fvjs
+Nerf mods for dummies Nice. Similar to what I got.
-Justin
Is make test battle going to post more? I really love your vids and they are really high quality. I just wish I could watch your vids at least once a week.
+Foster Zinn YES. We are. :D
Aiming for twice a week.
-Justin
+Make.Test.Battle Thank you so much. Can't wait to see more content. Also I have two more questions. When will the ugly stick video be coming out? When will the mtb rhinos be available for purchase? Thanks.
Looks cool
Oh! This is actually what I've been wanting to make for a while now but I didn't really know how to go about it. That thing how you got the shell ejector to give you a better air seal is really quite smart.
+Kenneth Newbery Thanks man. Goodluck with your mod.
-Justin
Cool vid. I don't have a Nerf blaster just yet.
Not really into Nerf out of youtube videos, but now I want to just so I can make and use this.
I don't know what gorram "hook" you guys think is there for that spring to be seated into - shredded my fingers trying to fir the C836 spring into wherever it's supposed to go and almost snapped the bar in half.
I am going to buy This blaster just to mod it #easyandgood #supernice
Cool beans
I love the Sledgefire and your gameplay footage of it, but would you consider briefly explaining why you run it as a primary in your wars when you're facing up against overhauled flywheels? Just want to hear your thoughts.
"Because". Sometimes its not about being "the best", but about using what you enjoy -R
@@MakeTestBattle Fully agree
Thank you guys for modding my favourite blaster if you have anymore ideas for the sledgefire please publish the idea👍🏻👌🏼
i just made mine today it shoots a good 100ft i love it Thx
Nice! Post a pic on our Facebook page if you want -R
Welp, The sledgefire is stupid strong, and mine took an orange trigger spec stock spring, PLUS the c836
I'm in two minds about this mod. On the one hand, it is really cool, and simple enough. Performance seems good too. With the stock removed, it has a certain hand cannon look to it. On the other, I have my doubts about the practicality of it. A lot of it comes down to how fast you can change out the homemade shells and what the spread on a three-round load is. If the homemade shells are easy to reload, I'd be on board, since it could be used in much the same way as intended, but with better performance and less concern over shell loss. Also, given that there are 3D printed shells available that fire mega darts, I figure the build could be modified to chamber megas, though given the thickness of pipe needed, I can't be sure. Thoughts? I have a hunch that the volume of the plunger is larger than that of the barrel, even at that length, which by my reckoning means wasted air. A mega dart may be able to make better use of that. I am now finding myself tempted to do a cosmetic modification to make this look like the Thumper from Tribes: Ascend, and having the larger dart would add to that feel. Also, the Sledgefire does look like the Thumper quite a bit.
I gotta quick question, I want to keep the 3 darts per shot thing so do I have to modify the barrel to get the insane performance that this thing has?
Nevermind, just finished watching the whole video
I finally did this mod and wow!
(i made a vid if you want to check it out) the only problem i have with mine is the 1/2" pvc i used was just a bit too tight, so its hard to get some darts in. i sanded the inside as much as i could and its a lot better, but i cant quite stuff several darts down there like i'd hoped
Sketchybro77 how hard is it to make
I will have to try this out
About time :D
"Good air seal" more like PERFECT air seal
+Finster 137 ;)
PLEASE make Retaliator or Hyperfire and Strongarm Mod guides.
Ok. Working on a Turbo Advance Mod at the moment.
-Justin
.
any chance you could post a link to the washer you used, my local hardware stores don't seem to stock it.
love the vids and guides
-John
how thick is that cardboard? using modded shells (stuffed playdough in 2 of the stock shell barrels) and taking the air restrictors out, im shooting through boxes with the vinyl tipped darts with that. oh.. and i added a spring to the ejector piece for full ejections.
Is there a dart drag effect from the barrel here on the dart? I'm thinking of doing all the backend (air seal, AR delete, & spring upgrade) part but leaving the front end alone to use a Slugfire single shell so I can swap between 3 & 1 shots. Thoughts?
where are the links to the products?
I'm building a Super Sledgefire for Larp at the moment. But the problem was to get a fitting Silicon Seal from the Hardware Store. Thanks for the video, greatings form Germany ^-^
+Schmoller Hey mate! Any sort of soft sealing material would work; doesn't necessarily have to be a silicone rubber. Try in the section where they have toilet and sink parts. Can't wait to go back to Germany again -R
+Make.Test.Battle Just say when you are in Germany, then I can tell you if we have a Community meting of Blasted.de.
The problem is that they all got a hole cut in them and its over 23mm which leaves me with an crappy seal. Funky foam works but the it gets destroyed/damaged way to fast.
Schmoller Maybe try getting neoprene rubber sheet. From a foam and rubber retailer. -Justin
I just did this mod- cheap and worth it.
The propellant in your "plastic safe" lubricant is NOT plastic safe. All sprays are bad. But you can use the contents just fine by spraying into something like an emptied model paint jar and waiting a few minutes for the dissolved propellant to disperse.
This mod is almost exactly like the captive barrels a few of us did to make the old Buzz Bee Double Shot shell-less. I should see if I can dig mine out for photos.
+Bob O`Bob I have three underover Double Shot and not sure what to with them.
Love to see the pic here or NMW.
-Justin
Make.Test.Battle if I can't find the old side-by-side that I installed barrels into, perhaps I'll try one of the O/U blasters later this year. I somehow ended up with several, and honestly after such a conversion the old one was not terribad. It was mostly just fitting larger bits of tubing to both ends of a CPVC barrel (shorter than the shell barrels), so that it could move just like yours does, for a decent seal. The hidden piece just held it captive so it wouldn't pop out, but also helped align it so the darts didn't hit the faux barrel on their way out.
+Make.Test.Battle hey do you guys know any good replacement springs for the fire strike I live in Melbourne btw 😀
Is there a mod where I can just keep everything the same but put in a new spring so the 3 Dart shell pops out fully on its own?
i would like to request a vid on a vagabond mod.....saw off the front as the darts sometimes get trapped in barrel as it rotates right after firing..if you saw off the front it would make for a nasty pump action revolver!!!
5:41 Will the gun work slightly better still if I just cut out the air restrictions and put it back together?
Personally, i think the jolt is the first mod you should perform. You don't need to buy anything, and it really buffs it.
+FoxyBanana Lots of good options, but we feel the Sledgefire is an easily do-able mod and give you a lot of experience with several important modding skills, like AR removal, spring replacement, and custom barrel cutting/fitting -R
+Make.Test.Battle Oh, ok. Thanks for your reply :). I just though that the jolt is good, as it it goes wrong (which is very difficult), it's cheap to get a replacement. It's also easy for the younger audience, as you just have to pul a couple of things out, and unscrew a few things, and you can replace the spring if you want even more power. Also, i've attempted to mod a Nerf N-strike Elite Alpha Trooper Cs-12, and as soon as i unscrewed it, all of the springs and machinery popped out, and it became useless.(I'm probably gonna glue some of the things on, and paint it. (So i can use it as a decoy, for holding mags) Anyway, I like this, i just like the sledgefire's 3-dart shot & shell system.
But still, I just kinda like the streange & fun weapons, and prefer stock, unless the gun is REALLY under performing (Like if my Nerf Gun didn't shoot to far, like if i got a grey-trigger.)
Anyway, thanks for your reply and input, i really love your videos, so i look forward to watching more in the future, man. :)
PS: Have you/ do you plan on doing a lawbringer mod video, i really love that gun :)
Thanks,
-Oscar
FoxyBanana Yeah! Everyone does things differently. Im planning on doing a Retaliator/Modulus Recon guide soon. No plans for the Lawbringer as its just a case of "Put a bigger spring in" -R
Make.Test.Battle Yeah, but I think that you could try something. Maybe pu in the metal hammershot kit, as it's internals are almost identical. Anyway, thanks :)
I would love to see a rampage/raider mod guide
I used a stock sledgefire with thumbtack darts *not the pointy side* and it penetrated cardboard
Any chance of an update to cover different barrel materials for different darts? Would love to make a barrel suited to Accufakes.
What are the dimensions of the valve washer?
In the Uk, I can't find any barrel material
What should I use?
I've been out of nerf for a while but damn do I wanna make this
I had a friend of mine build this for me, using a brass breach instead of pipe, and some kind of liquid rubber in place of the silicone washer. It is definitely stronger, but I don't think it is as strong as it is in this video. I'm unsure as to how you got it to seal up as you did in the beginning of the video with your hand on it. Even after lining the O-ring area with tape I can't seem to pull that off. Any advice?
What other glue brands can you use instead of Selleys glue? Also is there a link to a parts list or no? I'm mainly interested in the glue and inlet valve
i might copy this. and maybe find a way of doing it without making the blaster unable to shoot with the original shells
Hey Justin! Can you still use the stock catch spring or is it beefy enough already to keep using with the upgraded spring?
If I'm considering keeping the shotgun shells, is it best to leave the ARs intact and in place?
"How many kg" the spring linked in the description is ? I mean compression force
Edit: I've more questions: are the diameter of pipes shown in the video internal diameter or external ?
Is a catch and catch spring upgrade neccesary for this mainspring ?
dude those fvj darts are fucking terrifying
how powerful of a spring will fit in the blaster, and not break anything?
OOO! I wonder if this can fit a mega dart barrel...
Any chance to see range tests and spread tests on this? aspecialy range for single, spread for triple load.
+LARPBeard Interesting idea; making a breach for megas is a little tricky but I know its been done. As for range tests etc; expect to see something far more useful soon! *mysterious* -R
^_^
I have a question I live in California and I am stuck on one part of this mod the barrel because I covered the mm of your barrel and the in side of my barrel is to large in side to hold the nerf dart in snug any suggestions
Actually the first nerf gun you should buy if your getting in to modding is the LONGSTRIKE.
If you want to start brass tubing you should start with the sharpfire.
Jotaro Cuntjo Do you mean the longshot
I have a little problem with my Sledgefire.
I once accidentally, yes, accidentally, dropped it down some stairs.
From there on out, the AR has been fucked up. how do I fix it?
Take it out
The Zachvolt who needs AR in a shotgun? Get rid of that shit
max_daxter362
Great idea.
Could use a parts list, since the original is MIA, but regardless great video thanks!
my first mod was a locked removed, lubed up 3 imr stryfe
i what it to be modular.....so how would I make this with PVC (like a 3D printed shell with a brass/copper barrel that I can remove and it still shoot 3 darts if I put a shell in it)
my first mod is removing locks from the stryfe and also removing ar from a hammershot
Can you use the stock shells as well? Would like to use as shot gun as well
Thanks
could you make some shells without the 16mm conduit and use 20mm for a mega barrel and have them interchangable?
How can I remove the ars with out cutting the hole because I want to keep the tri shot but I can’t with cutting the hole
Do you think that 1/2 inch pvc would work. I ask because in the past it has had a tight fit on my darts but I see that you are able to easly put your darts into your barrel matterial and that is what i am looking for.
+SheriffBones It can be very hit and miss depending manufacturing tolerances of the pipe.
Thought if got a drill a fraction bigger than the barrel to bore out an the entry port just deep enough to get the dart in.
That clip on the plungertube was actually a magizine.
:D
-Justin
Noah Wilsey What?
What blaster should you mod first?
This one. (Nerf dart Almost goes through cardboard
That was a great video! The idea of a permanent shell was awesome! Since your using piping for the shell, would it be possible to create a makeshift speed loader for this sledge fire? Plz Reply back!
Also, i really wish you guys would sell kits for these mods! The mod videos are so easy to follow!
+Ben “Sheep” Lam me too
Does anyone know what the next size stronger would be in terms of the spring? Or if there is a different spring that is slightly stronger? (different project)
What about putting an longstrike barrel attachment replacin the original one, adding a little bit larger pvc barrel and maybe some brass?
That could look rather cool... -R
i have a question, im doin the mod but will it work with 3d printed shells with brass
