As a South African I was disappointed when I learnt she’d had to opt out. She could have asked for a wheelchair, SA team that were with her could have got real creative pimping up that wheelchair as a chariot of resilience , true spirit of the rainbow warriors and she could of used that as a platform to speak of her disability and how it has not stopped her from being her best self representing her warrior nation. She would have won the hearts of so many and be trending by now. Such a wasted platform and opportunity. Nah SA we didn’t do well let’s just admit it and move on.

She made her mark and impacted the world. Many who did not know about vertigo now know about it.
The poor girl really suffered. I suffer with vertigo and when it hits you just have to lay down till you stabilise. Stress ke yona amplifies it. Even simple things like standing in the shower is hard, driving impossible. Thinking - your brain gets foggy.
Not making it about me, just adding to her narration coz people don’t understand since you look normal. You have helped me Cd with an example I can use to explain to people. It can be very frustrating and isolating.
Super proud of her. Uyibwkile induku ebandla.
As for the Miss Universe organisation, it sounds more and more like a Zamazama of a spaza of a pageant. They must relinquish it.

@ I respect your opinion but I also respect Mia knowing her body and what it can and can’t cope with. Don’t think it was just a case of get a wheelchair and her extreme case of vertigo would be resolved…she was hospitalised in Mexico in case you aren’t aware. She felt she needed to be home to get the best care and heal and I can’t fault her on that. Yes we didn’t win on this one but Denmark did and that’s ok because we can’t win them all. We’ve won this crown more than once, think three times, so we’ll be fine. Mia being Miss SA and representing us at MU could never be a wasted opportunity, she taught us and the world so much about people living with hearing impairment in such a short space of time; that is how I see it. But again you have a right to you opinion and I welcome it. Mia has loads of work ahead of her, fulfilling her mission in SA and insure a feeling she’s destined for more global ambassadorship on the issue of hearing impairment…let’s wait and see🇿🇦💚💛

@eddymakua2175 Well that's your personal opinion and personally, I believe I can call her a warrior for achieving so much and, most importantly, for educating the world about vertigo. I didn’t learn much from Miss Universe or the first runner up. Instead, it seems they were treated like tokens and cheated out of fairness. So, Mia is indeed a warrior, and she has the ability to recognize nonsense before it even happens.

I always have high pillows otherwise my head or brains feels like spinning and get very nausea. I exacerbated by the fact that I da an operation on my left ear. Ngiyamuzwa mina ugal. We are still happy she entered. She is a winner in my eyes in our eyes we salute her strength her courage and the message she nis spreading. Thank you Mia we love you.

She educated us about the challenges faced by deaf people, and about vertigo which seems to affect a lot of people but are not aware. She also represented millions of people living with disabilities, who now know that it's possible, they too could participate be beauty Queens..

@eddymakua2175 we Eddy have you ever experienced extreme dizziness. Any way it's understandable you're one of those guys who downplay pain that's feeled by others, ie period pains and child birth until you're put into an assimilation that's when you realize it's not what you thought it to be.
When growing up we used to play in a merry-go-round which we called umawrongwrong. If you've had a ride in that thing and know how it feels, you'll realize that your 2 cent long thesis is just some hog wash. Wheel chair or no wheel chair when sick no one has a right to force you. What you're doing here is un South African. Thina sinobuntu, wena right now you're displaying high levels of extreme selfishness, and that's a very foreign trait to us.
Mia is like all our unique beauty queens. Who contribute more than what is expected from them. In her case, it's not about winning, but about being a trail blazer. The voice for the voiceless, an empowered who later empowers others. Millions of deaf people, worldwide, now today know it is possible for them. They now know, people know about their challenges. I for one didn't know much about their challenges and I'm now informed which is better more valuable than the crown. Not that I'm throwing shade, on those that won, but truthfully except for the crown, there's nothing that outstanding I took or learned from them. Mia, empowered millions with knowledge. That for me, that's greatness.❤❤❤❤❤❤Soweto

I still want to hear what Miss Fiji meant when she asked the other girls to come out and help her sing a like bird. The other girl that can't be mentioned was used to promote Miss Universe to make more money with all the drama around her, I guess😂😂 Welcome back home to our beautiful girl. Donald Trump mara with his X comment yhoo. He must focus on being a president in his country rather than being involved in pageants even when his co- founder. Mxm
