@Nadia it's not bs. The drugs often make you infertile along with other lifelong changes and people DO change their mind. The reason it is banned is because the NHS (national health service) was sued by a girl whom this happened to (Keira Bell). The NHS is funded by taxpayers and decided that it would not harm for people to wait until adulthood to make informed consent (which legally they cannot do in UK in matters pertaining to health until 18).
In the actual full show they really didn’t get along, bc Kieran chose not to accept that she is transgender. They got partnered together for a day too and in the end became friends.

I wouldn't really call it an experiment. Anything the schools are doing would be based off of a plan, that plan would have been a fully informed decision. So they would have based thier actions on research that shows methods like this (encouraging diversity) aids in childrens development etc. So, not really and experiment. More so a form of inclusive action.

It’s really nice to see someone so willing to learn about others and especially at that age- I think this should be encouraged everywhere as long as the questions stay respectful and the Person being questioned is comfortable

@@atn6033 ahh okay, so gender has typically been understood as a binary (meaning involving 2 things). On one side is 'man' and on the other is 'woman'. In reality, gender is a lot more fluid than that, and someone could be somewhere in the middle, or not even on the spectrum! Being Non-Binary then, means not being able to place your gender on the binary of 'man' and 'woman'. It's more of an umbrella term though, as there are many gender identities that fit within it. I'd recommend googling it if you want to know more! Alternatively there's a really interesting group on Facebook called 'Transgender Education and Discussion' that I recommend! I'm personally okay with answering these sorts of questions, but the emotional and mental labour of having to explain oneself over and over again can be tiring, so other Trans/Non-Binary people may not be as willing, hence why I recommended the FB group :) hope that helps!

Yes as much as one has the freedom to believe that homosexuality/transgenderism is right, we have the same freedom and right to believe it is wrong. Muslims believe drinking alcohol is a big sin but it doesn't mean we have to hate people who do so cuz most people do drink. As long as we are civil and not forcing our beliefs on people, we can get along fine.

As a British born Muslim myself, I did not find anything offensive in how Kieran was asking questions . The trans student did not take any offense to K's questions. I give high marks to Kieran for not discriminating against the student. She handled it very diplomatically and did not go full on "I'm gonna read a few Quran verses to you" mode. Kieran treated her with respect, and I am certain this will grow into a very real and authentic friendship. Kudos also to the parents raising these great examples.

Yeah it might get a bit overwhelming when someone asks so many questions at once, but they both handled the interaction well. It's good that Kieran is curious and open to learning. Later in the episode some other student does ask something that's a bit personal and rude (if she has a penis) and the teacher steps in and says basically "it's fine to be curious but maybe that's a bit too much" and the student agrees.
I'm a transgender woman, and one of my friends is Yemeni. A few weeks after his cousin moved to our country, we hung out at a party and he & I had an hour long conversation tucked away in a corner. We talked about gender and sexuality and religion and spirituality and it was one of the best conversations I have ever had. I admired so deeply his desire to learn, and I hope I shared the same. I think if I was the trans girl's age I would have been on the defensive like she was, but so much respect to the muslim girl for her curiosity. Kids rock.

@@veg4life. I disagree. I think it's possible to like the look of either men or women at an early age. I remember when I was little I liked the look of Simon Cowell in X Factor. I thought he was beautiful. Obviously these weren't sexual thoughts, but subtle hints that I liked the opposite sex.
In this case, that boy, who is clearly gay, is identifying as the opposite sex, and he's been deluded into thinking he can be the opposite sex, when it's just virtually impossible! These issues of sexual orientation and gender identity are completely separate and unrelated.

I get that asking questions is good but she was asking a bit too much and some of them the answer was like really obvious, I’m saying this having grown up in a Muslim household. To me the transgender girl was clearly uncomfortable and the Muslim girl could very clearly tell that she was. She also really didn’t come across as super accepting of LGBTQ, you could tell she kinda viewed the transgender girl as a weirdo (well to me at least), it’s just her reactions and facial expressions that gave it away to me (like at 0:59). It just seemed like she was asking all these questions and will afterwards gossip about the transgender girl immediately afterwards imo.

Well as a Muslim, being trans is clearly prohibited because you are unhappy with the way Allah made you. She was just trying to understand him and why a kid would want such a drastic change and its normal for kids to ask questions.
For me what is important, is to learn to tolerate somebody (to a reasonable degree) even if he/she is a weirdo. Unless their weirdness is harmful towards other people, its their problem. You dont have to like them, you dont have to befriend them if you think that they are not a fit for you. Just try to be civil and let them go their way. The muslim girl really tried to be respectful thats all we should ask from her.
*Here's what Islam says and thinks about homosexuality/trans:*
1. You are not allowed to have sex outside of marriage=> straight or not, no kissing, no going out with someone..etc etc
2. The same sex marriage doesn't exist in Islam
3.We accept ourselves as God made us=> seeking change in one's identity is haram
*Cc: So basically if you love someone from the same gender welp that can't be helped But you're not allowed to do more than that because you cannot get married*
But whatever other people from outside your religion want to do it's their business and you have no say on that plus we must accept/tolerate and love everyone and try to be nice to all people.

I’m not a Muslim but as a Christian, in the Bible it says we shouldn’t be lgbtq+ but we should love everyone and accept them just as Christ did! Love the sinner hate the sin!

You can see the hesitation and uncertainty but I love that the girl was patient with Kiran and answered her questions. By the end you could see that she was beginning to sit more comfortably with the transgender concept that initially appeared quite foreign to her 💖🌍💖

Her facial expressions were not friendly. His thinking we are friends now that she's asking questions and she's asking questions whilst trying not to be judgmental. She says "it's good to meet people" and he says " we are friends now". Big difference.

well trans people in islam are given respect and they have many rights so her asking the questions is just her trying to understand, typically muslim households dont bring this matter up

That girl seems to ask a lot and makes being transgender his only personality which I think is quite rude/disrespectful.
I understand but as a Muslim ur not taught these kind of things and all ur parents tend to say it stay away from people like transgender. So yeah it comes of disrespectful but I’m sure it’s not her intention she is just curious as she probably has never met someone who is transgender.

She is curious. She is young. She wants to know. It is no different to when western people have no idea about Islam (except for what's on media) and they ask hundred questions to Muslims about he smallest stuff.
