Hi there, Jennifer, there is indeed a direct train from Barcelona to Granada. There might be just two services per day, you will have to check. All the best.
this is a great channel with lots of info. 2 questions from this video, when are you going to produce 2023 version, and are there plans to extend to San Sebastian please.

Hello! LOVE your channel! Hoping you can provide some clarity for me regarding premium seating on the AVE trains. It is unclear to me on the few maps I can find which seat numbers face forward in the direction of travel. I am trying to buy a ticket for a seat that faces forward from Madrid to Seville, but I am not confident I am making the right decision when I view the maps of the carriages. I don't want to sit backward for almost 3 hours. Thanks in advance for whatever clarity you can provide! 🙏
Thank you. Renfe has changed its website so many times! We haven't bought premium seats recently so are not sure of what kind of maps are being show when you select your seats. We know other operators show the direction of travel in their seat maps. Sorry we can't be of much help on the issue.

HI - I would love to visit Bilbao and San Sebastian once again… especially San Sebastian How are the trains from Bilbao to San Sebastian ? From DK it’s possible to fly directly to Bilbao, so 3 nights in Bilbao and 6 nights in San Sebastian ? Thankyou…
Lars, as this video is about high-speed trains, we invite you to leave your question for a future QA session, where we will be able to reply to it in detail.
Hola Don Tony and Dona Cecilia! I'm hoping you can help me sort out a decision :) My husband and I need to get from Granada to San Sebastian on Nov 5th. It seems like my options are fast train GRA to MAD, and then regular train to SS. Do you recommend we try the corridor connection between the Granada-Madrid-Zaragoza, and then take a slower train from Zaragoza to San Sebastian? Or would this be more difficult/complicated for us newbies? Thank you for your help and a million thanks for your detailed and oh-so-thoughtful videos. Kind regards, Andrea and Jon
Hi Andrea and Jon. To avoid having to change station in Madrid (from Atocha to Chamartín, you would have to allow time for that change), it would seem better to try Granada-Zaragoza and then Zaragoza-San Sebastián. The problem is that there are very few trains running per day between Zaragoza and San Sebastián, check the schedules to see whether you can make it work. All the best.

My question concerns transferring from one train to another in Madrid's Atocha station. Is it less stressful to choose a connection with say an hour's layover to give enough time to locate the next train. This is my first time taking the fast trains in Spain.
Hola Tony : very informative video, we plan on flying intro Madrid in late sept want to visit Sevilla, Cadiz, tarifa and gibralter . I noticed there is no Train from Cadiz to Tarifa. How do you recommend we get there?
Are you in Zaragoza? I'm coming back for the first time in 30 years. Would love to do an interview with you. I'm doing a personal doc about my return. Also what's the best way to get from BCN to the train to Zaragoza?
We are based in Zaragoza indeed, when we are not doing field work, which is a substantial part of our time. See the updated video on the size of the high-speed network here ruclips.net/video/7QSmj6b_q5k/видео.html Trains in Barcelona depart from Sants Station, how you'll get to it will depend on where you are staying.
Thanks for the video. I am planning to do the Camino de Santiago by bicycle this September will be arriving in Madrid then to Ponferrada. Please advice me how to get to Ponferrada from Madrid using train carrying my bicycle. Thanks.
Take an AVE train to León and then an Alvia train to Ponferrada. To take the high-speed train, you need to take your bike apart and transport it within a bag, maximum size 120 x 40 x 90 cm.

Thanks Patricia. In actual fact, we don't think Tarjeta Oro is such a good deal, we often get much better prices buying well in advance without the Tarjeta Oro.
@@Kerbeygrip the discounts you get with the Tarjeta Oro are very real indeed. What we want people to understand is that they pale in comparison to what you can get buying your tickets in advance. In our opinion, the Tarjeta Oro delivers only a good deal to those who buy tickets at the last minute.
It depends on the station (the larger the station, the earlier you should get). We always plan to arrive at the station one hour before the scheduled departure time.

Double Decker trains...in Britain probably by the year 2525..
They actually provide the most uncomfortable of all the high-speed train services offered in Spain, so you'll be fine.
Thank you for the very informative vlogs is Salamanca, Castilla y leon one place? more blessed day ahead Tony! 🙏😊🌎

Hola - mucho gracias for your info… can you tell about trains to Bilbao and San Sebastian , por favor ?
Lars, there are no high-speed trains in the region, only conventional trains. Where do you want to travel to Bilbao and San Sebastián from?
HI - I would love to visit Bilbao and San Sebastian once again… especially San Sebastian
How are the trains from Bilbao to San Sebastian ?
Hola Tony, pienso viajar a Madrid y con deseo de visitar Sevilla, Córdoba y posiblemente Valencia. Day trip from Madrid to Toledo también. Tengo 8 días. 1. Cómo debo coordinar los días. 2. Es posible viajar de Sevilla o Córdoba a Valencia en pocas horas o debo volver a Madrid para bajar a Valencia en el speed train. Aconséjeme por favor. Gracias. Todos sus vídeos me encantan. Son muy honestos.

Hi 👋🏼 I just wanted to let you know that I’m loving ur videos.
I’m gonna be spending the next few years in Bilbao. It would be great if you can let me know how to explore Spain from Bilbao 😊
Hi Vikram, as Bilbao is not connected to the high-speed network, flying out of Bilbao would be the best choice if you want to save time getting to other destinations in Spain. Train or bus for cities nearby.

We are planning to take a train from Seville-Granada, Granada-Madrid and Madrid-Barcelona with some possible stops in Cordoba and Zaragoza as daytrips. Will there be lockers where we can store our luggage while we explore to both Cordoba and Zaragoza?
There are lockers at Córdoba and Zaragoza bus stations. You can see our up-to-date video on the size of the Spanish high-speed network here ruclips.net/video/7QSmj6b_q5k/видео.html

It's very radial, just like France and Paris lol !

Hola señor Gálvez, ¿puede confirmar que la línea ALVIA ahora va a Oviedo y Gijón? La web de Renfe recoge esta ruta. Quiero ir a Oviedo desde Madrid. ¡gracias!

If answer is yes, then what is the best method to travel from barcelona to alicante. Thank you Sir in advance.

Hello can I ask for your recommendation traveling from BCN to San Sebastian then to Madrid to Lisbon then Seville and back to BCN. Kindly suggest what is best train for these routes. Thank you and more power!
Anna:
- from BCN to San Sebastián there is a direct train (not high-speed)
- from Madrid to Lisbon, fly. There is no train on the route.
- from Lisbon to Seville, fly. There is no train on the route.
- from Seville to Madrid, there is a high-speed train.
Here we explained how to buy the train tickets: ruclips.net/video/MYqz41n5Qn4/видео.html
My question concerns transferring from one train to another in Madrid's Atocha station. Is it less stressful to choose a connection with say an hour's layover to give enough time to locate the next train. This is my first time taking the fast trains in Spain.
We don't have a video on the topic yet but yes, leave at least one hour for that connection at Atocha station.
Hola Tony : very informative video, we plan on flying intro Madrid in late sept want to visit Sevilla, Cadiz, tarifa and gibralter .
I noticed there is no Train from Cadiz to Tarifa. How do you recommend we get there?
Hi Joeu, no train indeed, you'll need to get a local bus departing from Cadiz bus station. Check schedules as soon as you get to Cádiz.
Hi There I plan to go from Madrid to Malaga using Iryo, as their trainster look Amazing. Have you ever traveled with them?
Yes, we have, see ruclips.net/video/t83SR1tkILM/видео.html
Thanks for the video. I am planning to do the Camino de Santiago by bicycle this September will be arriving in Madrid then to Ponferrada. Please advice me how to get to Ponferrada from Madrid using train carrying my bicycle. Thanks.
Take an AVE train to León and then an Alvia train to Ponferrada. To take the high-speed train, you need to take your bike apart and transport it within a bag, maximum size 120 x 40 x 90 cm.
All of your videos are so informative and well done. Where is the link for Trainline so that you can get your commission for sharing.

Love these trains! They are like aircraft without the airport hassle! Cheap for over 65s with Tarjeta Oro (only €6).
Thanks Patricia. In actual fact, we don't think Tarjeta Oro is such a good deal, we often get much better prices buying well in advance without the Tarjeta Oro.
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Well it lasts a year and I find overall I save a lot. I go on the spur of the minute often. Horses for courses.
So there's a way of going to France from any of the cities in the North East without having to take multiple trains?
There is a direct high-speed train service from Barcelona to Perpignan, Narbonne, Montpellier and other cities in the region.
How early should one arrive to the train station before the scheduled departure?
It depends on the station (the larger the station, the earlier you should get). We always plan to arrive at the station one hour before the scheduled departure time.
Can you do a video on the train locations in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Toledo, and Seville? I need to know where I would be getting off the train in those locations. Are there taxis nearby or are you in walking distance from the train to historic sites?
