      I understand your concerns, don’t get me wrong because I own a 24 myself. My biggest concern is the new turbo engine. I hope it holds up and they have all the bugs out of it. I saw where one guy was out of warranty and his engine went out on a 22 model and the Toyota dealer wanted $28000 to replace it. If that would happen I would have to sell the truck because I can’t believe a replacement engine would cost that much. I have never bought an extended warranty, but am thinking about it. I read also about Fords and Chevy having problems too. I really like my Tundra. I just hope it holds up to the reliability that Toyota is known for. Good luck with yours and I hope you get the problems worked out on it. So far mine has been good, no problems.

    I will start out by saying, I am the furthest thing from any brand loyalist. For what it’s worth, I just came from a 2020 F-150 to my first Tundra, 2024 Limited TRD. My wife also went from a 2018 Expedition to a 2024 Venza. At this point, both of us couldn’t be happier. A family member had nothing but issues with his 2021 F-150 and dumped it in less than a year. I have previously owned a Silverado, Ram, Sierra, F-150, and now a Tundra. The new Tundra, so far, is my favorite. I love the way it drives, its power, towing capability, the feel of the transmission (especially compared to the Ford 10R80), its handling, etc. With this being said, the most dependable truck I have ever owned was a 2008 Dodge Ram (not including the Tundra at this time due to it being so new). However, the Ram of 2008 is not the Ram of today. Additionally, don’t even get me started on what GM’s 4L60E transmission has cost me and several friends in the past.
    I can’t argue against the fact that some of the fitment and interior parts could definitely be improved on the Tundra. But, having disassembled some of the interior already for some aftermarket installations, I do appreciate the ease with which things come apart and go back together. Also, for the first 2000 miles or so, the seats in the Tundra were the absolute worst seats I had ever sat in for anything longer than an hour. The seats are finally comfortable enough for longer trips but still don’t (and likely never will) match the comfort of my former F-150’s seats. Long-term dependability may far exceed my prior trucks or may leave me sobbing in the corner. The jury is still out on this and only time will tell how well my Tundra ultimately shakes out.

Doors miss aligned, interior quality was awful (cheap plastics, huge gaps everywhere, horrible wind noise). Rear doors would creak because the rear quarter glass trim was flexing and making noise. I love how the 2021 Tundras were well built and Mike Sweers ordered his team to make shit cheaper on the 2022+ models. The previous gens all had big 10.5" rear diffs standard and on the new gen there big diff only comes on the more expensive rigs. The front differential is aluminum instead of cast steel like in the previous gens. The stronger CV axles are only on the PRO and they downgraded the CVs on the cheaper trucks. The tie rods are way smaller than the previous gen trucks too. Dint nitpick too much, you might get disappointed even further. You compare the quality of the new tundra with the new Tacoma that's supposed to have terrible quality because "hecho en Mexico" but the jokes on the haters. New Taco feels better put together than the new Tundra.

    As an Engineer that works for corporate America, I can tell you that these trucks are design with the premium models in mind. The fit and finish are in the premium models. The lower end models are an after thought where they try to save cost through the cheapers parts which are thinner and made of cheaper materials. Thats why the mechanical fit is not very well and you have all the rattles. In terms of labor, it cost them almost the same to build a Capstone vs a SR5. The big saving is in the parts cost! That $25K difference in price from capstone to SR5 is mostly all in using cheaper inferior parts in the SR5. It's not right but that's how corporate America is.

    My 2005 Tundra was as basic as you could get but I can say it was well put together except for a rusted frame (which was replaced for free) and it went for 260k before a drunk driver totalled it. And my brother owns a 2012 which has held up really nice. Looks like they really phoned it in for the 3rd gen either because of cost cutting to compete or because they figured people would buy anything with the Toyota logo on it.

    Well took this video out & check your list of issues happy to say the only thing that is annoying is not have the extra seals around the door.
    Surprisingly everything is tight and fit on the doors. I've got definitely a different windows seal interior. It's seems like it's two parts system. It's like a hard and soft components to it couldn't even lift up or manipulate the edging on the interior seals. It's just fine hopefully it holds up. Definitely would agree that the grill is a low-grade plastic and especially below the main headlights. This extra air intake vent definitely could have been engineered to be a little bit better & does seem cheap.
    No issues with the tailgate area definitely will keep an eye out for it.
    So my truck is in the Rocky Mountains it's kind of a different Air
    if your in a coastal city in Texas that salt air can be very destructive
    When I was in the marina industry on the wrong coast, I definitely noticed that all of my trucks rusted up quick.

    Another money pit for the consumer once the warranty is gone. All manufacturers are making vehicles now just good enough to get them out of warranty costs and to keep you coming back for a new one due to them being a pile of steaming plastic at 100k miles. 2 turbos, 3 radiators 2 air filters $$$$$ a parts sellers dream. As horsepower goes up and displacement goes down reliability goes down. Increased cylinder pressures to get the same amount of power on less main bearings. This is just facts. Why on earth these manufacturers don’t go to an inline 6 cylinder in trucks I will never understand. Trucks don’t need to rev to the moon they need torque. 1 cylinder head, 1 turbo, 1 timing chain, more low end torque, 7 main bearings.

      @@ZetaDogProductions you talked about using a power washer on your truck when you talked about the grill issues. Do you use a power washer when washing it? Could it be you blasted the coating/paint off the front coil spring while you were washing it? As far as the rear differential goes, the rust you see where 2 bolts look like they are missing is normal for most vehicles with a rear differential. Those 2 bolt threaded holes are prob there for a option your truck does not have. The rear differential is very heavy thick steel, it has to be. It is not going to rust to a point of uselessness during your lifetime. Some of your complaints like the rear tail lights without the tailgate buttons rattling is obsessive and picky. You had to pound on them to get them to make the noise you were trying to prove. Who does that? Some of your complaints are valid, like front window fitment, tailgate gaps excessive on one side, rear door interior pull squeaking when it is pulled to close the door, the door gap seals missing. Mostly all headliners are made of same material as yours is, so that one your are not fixing. I seriously doubt there is a new truck made that will make you happy the way you beat and bang on stuff to see if you can get it to squeak.

    • @ZetaDogProductions
      @ZetaDogProductions  5 месяцев назад

      @@Boobtube. @Boobtube. My power washer is rated at low PSI specifically for washing cars, so if indeed the coil coating was damaged by it, then this truck really does have some serious issues.
      Good call on the differential. I believe I saw an SR with something bolted on in that section. Could have something to do with the 2WD models.
      In regards to the pounding and excessively pulling on things, I don't think the video really accurately captures the amount of force I'm using. If you think the truck is only making noise when I push and bang on poorly assembled parts, what do you think happens when the truck is under stress and moving at highway speeds or moving through anything but perfect roads/terrain?
      You are right about the headliner and other bits/materials that are par for the course in the automotive market now. It's just disappointing that we're expected to accept such low standards as normal because of post-pandemic corner cutting. Either way, I appreciate your comment and for watching. Thanks!

      @@ZetaDogProductions make sure the power washer is not set for a narrow stream of water. Even at low pressure water can do damage. I'm not sure why a power washer is even needed, unless you are going off road alot and have caked on mud, 2 bucket wash system should be just fine. You must have some really bad roads in your area. If the truck shakes that much going down the road you have other issues as well. It should be smooth sailing on a smooth road. The fit and finish on the plastic piece behind left rear view mirror on drivers side interior is terrible, it is wavy and does not fit flush. I looked at the Tundra for a new 23 or 24 model and was interested. Never went to a dealer to see them in person though as the stuff i seen on youtube pushed me away from them. Besides I dont really care for the big oversize screen in middle of dash. It looks like all toyota was concerned about was having that big screen and after that, they paid no attn. to the design of rest of the dash. I went with the 24 Silverado LT trim and added a few options from factory. Look at the dash of the Tundra's and the gages and than look at dash and gages of the Silverado (LT and up trims) and tell me which one looks more like a 55K and ^ truck. Going back many many years I never really cared for toyotas seats. I owned many Toyotas, Hi Lux truck 4wd 1983, Celicas and Corolla early 70's, and a Supra 1984. They were all great vehicles. Seems like Greed set in sometimes in the 90's and has been getting worse ever since. Oh, another thing that turned me off about Toyota is you can't build a truck on their website and take that to a dealer and say "order me this" . Not going to happen. Toyota builds what they want and they ship to the dealers what Toyota thinks will sell. All the dealer can do is look in their area and find something close to your build that you want. Sorry Toyota, but if I am paying that much money I want what I want and I am not just going to settle for something close. How Toyota is staying in business boggles my mind. With my Silverado, I got exactly what I built and wanted.

    • @ZetaDogProductions
      @ZetaDogProductions  5 месяцев назад

      @@Boobtube. Yeah, in my initial review of the truck, I point out how Toyota does an awful job of giving the customer what they actually want by loading these things up with a bunch of dumb, port-installed options that place the trucks at an even higher price point. It truly is frustrating.
