Hi. I am working on a 2018 e400. I replaced the left headlight with a used unit and a new control module. Is this programmable or do I need a new headlight unit? When i swap the right side module into the left (used) headlight it works fine. I can't get the new module to "adapt" to the used headlight using my scan tool. Just wondering before I try taking it to the Mercedes dealer. Thank you.
Hello, is it possible to buy a used headlamp, transfer over The controle modules from The old lamp and code it. The old headlamp which is cracked and The lens brokebeacause i came into it with The screwdriver…. ( w212 facelift headlights)
Good question. Here's the best way to look at it. We don't recommend it. Here's why. If you source a used headlight, you can swap the housing over to your vehicle, using all the old electronics from your vehicle. That will allow it to work without recoding. The vehicle will not know you swapped anything. However, the new (used) headlight housing will have or potentially have its own unique MATRIX data for the housing. You will then have to learn that dat matrix. Coding will not be necessary because you reused your electronics.
I need to replace my left headlight control module because my turn signal was randomly not working but now it seems not to flash at all now. So to replace that control module I have to get it coded? What a croc. I don't have a barcode scanner & only code scanner I have is the MB2 from I forget who makes it but I doubt it does anything like that. If I have going to pay someone to do the code thing I should just get them to unlock the intelligent light system code so it fully functions like the cars over across the pond. 🤷
Hi, thanks for the info. My c63 driver side led running light (the strip) is not working but the headlight has no damage and looks perfectly fine, so I just need to replace the control module? Or I need to replace the whole headlight
I had my MBZ dealership replaced my battery and did a tune up. After this service my headlights do NOT lift up and center track when I start my car at night. Did they forget to reset something? Why isn’t my ILS functioning as it did when purchased?

Sir...I need some help. I upgrade my halogen headlights to led headlights, I buy used led headlights with ECU. Everything is working fine but got message of headlights malfunction. DTC B2456 in mt Toyota CHR. ECU mismatch. Is there a way to solve this issue. I put Toyota CHR ECU in my headlights.
Oh yeah everyone should buy a car that needs a adaptation computer to code in a new headlamp, that absolutely the most ridiculous crap I’ve ever heard of.
Exactly, this is the biggest scam Mercedes has came up with. Why cant you reuse a part from another vehicle? Someone is very greedy and wants to ensure that they make a killing on overpriced headlights.

I am in the same position did you figure it out.
You need new parts, used may not work as expected.

Hi mate just want to know if you installing new module on headlight it will light up or not or only light up after programming ??
Not likely. Used headlights are not recommended by Mercedes-Benz. if installed one bulb may illuminate, but not all all. I would suggest new only.
How would I program the ecu on 2021 w253/x253 if the original module and headlights do not exist (lost on an accident)?
Wondering same thing put a new headlight and module in my 2021 cla250 but he only explains it with using the existing old parts
You can simply scan the new headlight!

Would coding/ programming be the same procedure on the facelift model c class w205
Yes

With all the control modules in today's vehicles, it is not a simple swap, as it once was. Thanks for watching.

Difficult to say without a full diagnosis. I would assume it is the headlight itself.

What year and model vehicle? I would start by checking the vehicle for fault codes before digging too deep.

What's the price on one of these? I've actually looked but it is not showing that information

Will this be the same on the w211 chassis?
Headlights on 211 don't require SCN coding
@@ericedberg5376 do you know if w212 2009 needs Coding?

The adaptability between models and trim lines require the flexibility coding and programming gives.
