- On this episode of FLDetours, Miles Branman takes on the new 2014 Jaguar XFR-S, an even faster version of the already quick XFR. The 2014 Jaguar XFR-S is packed with a supercharged V8 that makes 550-hp and 502 lb-ft of torque allowing for a 0 to 60 mph run of 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 186 mph. It also looks meaner inside out with a bunch of visual upgrades that set this cat apart from the rest of the pack. Let's meet Jaguar's BMW M5 competitor.

I remember the first time I saw a xf... I said that's how a 4 door coupe should look.... and when I saw a xf r... I said that it looks like the best saloon car ever! And now I have a xf premium... silver on black 19.... quad exhaust and a deck spoiler.
Working from home today so got some time for COMMMENNNNNTSSSS!!!! (a la AK).
Miles did an AWESOME job here--so many auto-reviewers are either too boring with specifications, or are WAY too enthusiastic in an attempt to emulate Clarkson--both end up failing in my book. Miles was both entertaining AND informative, which is no easy feat.
I agree 100% with both the pros and cons listed: the wheel design is a low-point, the tech is underwhelming (though the powertrain makes up for it perhaps), and a GTI-esque steering wheel would be a fantastic (and relatively cheap) addition.

At least there's an option to spec a different spoiler when buying this car. The standard one just doesn't look nice, to me anyway.

I just bought a 2014 with 5800 miles on it. I must say this review was spot on. I agree with his take-aways. Yes it needs a sport steering wheel which was the first thing I noticed missing. Next the wheels. My car is white with a blackout package and the wheels are much more suited to this car. It is aggressive but refined. Everyone that sits or rides in my car wants to "pet" it and they all love the show when the Start button is hit.
Do you still have the XFR-S? I was also looking at a 2014. Just wondering if you had any issues/concerns with yours. Thanks.
Nice review. The only issue I have is that for some reason you can't seem to pronounce "Jaguar" correctly. It really irritates me.

Great review, fantastic car and totally agree about the horrible alloys the older SV8 had much nicer rims (plus I’d have to spec it without that optional rear ironing board)
The rear spoiler is literally the calling card of the R-S.
You might as well buy an R and have it mapped 🤷♂️
I love this car, but personally I think he is right about the wheels! If this car had the wheels from the XKR-S it would look even better.

A deck lid spoiler on the trunk would look MUCH better
Good review. He has a good voice and is informative and critical. A little bit of hooliganism lacking. For a car like this, atleast let us hear the engine / exhaust system a bit more.

I know years late comment BUT at 3:03 you left traction control on and only switched to track mode (checkered flag button) if you did both then im sure the car would scare you or most likely crash it since it reduces torque significantly with traction control on to keep inexperienced/overzelous drivers under control.
Its so cool, and i agree the wheels and that spoiler should go. Also i think the sportbrake is a bit cooler
That spoiler makes it look ghastly, would have looked better with a small boot lip spoiler.

Cool car but that infotainment system would drive me crazy! Your right about the wheels...horrible. The rear spoiler is quite ugly too, does it even do anything?
With 550 hp going to the rear wheels, I'm sure the rear wing is functional.

You can't really take points away from Jag for their lack of technology, their target demographic don't want more tech, my Granddad LOVES the infotainment in his XF8, yeh it's a little sluggish, but it's also deliberate, and he finds it even easier than my iPhone

m8 grate review realy honest and up front ,as for the mag weels its in the eye of the beholder i like them and the first time i cerb one witch is enevitable . id buy even racier ones jags have a race pedagree and deserve race components < espeshaly there hi end ones . as for the spoilers i love them wouldnt buy one without it!! this one looks grate.

No sports grips = lazy designers or a bunch of engineers who don't think like drivers. Engineers are liek nerds, they don't know what's cool or works in the real world. let me dwsign it, and I'll include everything that is absolutely needed in a great sports car.

Hey Miles Branman nice video, i enjoyed it very much. But when you said it can pretty much destory anything on the road. I have to disagree, my 13 BMW M5 F10 will murder it, my coz CLS AMG will aslo murder it. But don't get me wrong its a very good car indeed. I just don't like that fact its not a reliable brand, and im speaking from experence.

Ford take care of the assembly in a special plant in the UK but they are not Ford engines.
They're designed entirely by Jaguar.
