The Shotokan version taken from this is called Nijuhachiho and it is believed that Nipaipo originated from this version Rika-san demonstrates above. Either way she is a masterful technician and her kata is beautiful to watch.
"The Shotokan version taken from this is called Nijuhachiho and it is believed that Nipaipo originated from this version Rika-san demonstrates above." This version here is not the original that spawned Nipaipo...This version here is from Kingai Ryu and is a mesh up of Nipai and some moves from Uechi Ryu and Gojushiho....The Nipai used to create Shito Ryus Nipaipo comes from Minghe Quan Ershiba and you can plainly see once you see this video of the original chinese version. ruclips.net/video/m4-G2DUWyjg/видео.html&index=9&list=PLykSIaZBHeI7xXAXN9xr2ckwY44sU66cX
@Denis You should look at Ayano Nakamura, Chieko Nakamura, 7 time world champion Atsuko Wakai, 4 time world champion Yuki Mimura and 3 time world Mei Nakayama. Most of whom were before her time. Not going to debate who's better, just that 7, 4 and 3 world titles vs Usami's 1 might make a good argument against her. One might make an argument for Hoang Ngan Nguyen (also a former world champion) who's defeated Usami in the past as well.
@@barrettokarate I appreciate Hoang Ngan very much. She must have been the most potential contestant in her prime, she defeated Rika. But her knee injury stopped her from fulfilling her goals, so sad. What a pity
she the best at kata, male or female her skill is perfect, i 've seen none better, in all my years.

I've always like studying Rika Usami's kata performances. She is very technically sound.

Fantastic performance 💯❤️🌹👍
very good Rika Usami kata
I love RIKA 💙
Beautiful. Very interesting. Some parts of Kururunfa and Seipai... Nipaipo is derived from the white crane (Go Kenki) style. Hmm, mystery
Ela é muito boa!
