Based on my own history of clumsiness, I found my self holding my breath during your footage of disassembling and cleaning parts on the dock. If it was me doing that, I definitely would have knocked important parts into the water. Your skills amaze me.
This is where your OCD shines threw. The meticulousness of your cleaning in general and on this toilet job is outstanding, above and beyond. A credit to the way you two have chosen to live. Cudos.
Parker, your precious nerdy nikpicky back yard engineering and curiosity about how things work is a treasure. Keep it up, those qualities got Teal that most wonderful Basik catamaran. I hope your partner treasures this character as much as the rest of us do. You need a portable workbench/worktop that you can clamp on a rail or something and stow behind a locker. I'm sure you can design something perfectly elegant. Thanks for sharing your potty adventures ... keep eating all that fiber and flush, flush, flushing. (The deck you built was stunning good work) Steve Schroeder
Loved the video, and love your ability to repair just about anything on the boat. I thought I was a pretty good handyman around the house doing plumbing, electrical, woodworking, etc. but you have got me beaten hands down and I love it. Looking forward to your future videos and especially they changeout of the rigging because that is definitely not an easy job and I know from previous videos that you will handle it masterfully. Love the loving interaction between you and Katy. Wishing you many years of wedded bliss. I was lucky to have married a great wife of 58 years until I lost her to cancer 2 years ago November. I hope the two of you surpass that record, and I know that you are going to have some great adventures to share when you finish getting the new boat ready to hit the ocean once more. ❤
Another excellent video. Great information for all of us to think about, and start digging into our own boats to ensure our valves are working correctly. Thank you.
Great video, it never ceases to amaze me at the short cuts some owners have taken that actually compromise safety. A job that should be done at least yearly. Hope 2024 treats you well.
Parker, I absolutely love the 'how to' component of your videos. Preventative maintenance and repair/replace is priceless. OBTW. I'm from nearby Youngstown and I hope to be sailing Lake Erie this summer. Onward!
Parker, you certainly are obsessed with meticulosity, are you a Virgo? Great job and it's our pleasure having you back. Wishing both a marvelously safe and Happy New year!
Nice video! Boat work projects are interesting and represent the sweat equity you put in to achieve the lifestyle. I can’t wait to see some great sailing videos so I can share in your much deserved reward.
Talk about working in close quarters I complain when I have to get under my sink cabinet not having room to maneuver that would drive me crazy what you had to go through. You took it like a boss and gotter done. Great job I to probably would have replaced The two white hoses while you're at it. Just started watching your channel Hope to see you sailing soon God bless stay safe
Very happy to see you two back at it and as always enjoy the video content! Yes, in my case, I am familiar with the antisiphon / vent aspects required in plumbing, but I personally gained value from watching in how you thought twice about what you working with / assumptions and discovered that the valve you were looking at was actually for something else. Quite easily overlooked and a good reminder in diagnosis for all of us. I'm the same way. I get so wrapped up in just what I am working on and easily think my assumptions of the project are correct / related to just what I am focused on. I'm quite guilty in always trying to solve problems under a microscope vision without allowing myself to step back and re-think. Wish you two a very happy, healthy, and exciting new year! Not too exciting though, try to make sure those lightning strikes don't get too wild:-)
Great job with the Head maintenance! That would have been a good time to replace most of the sanitary hoses. They may look good but with age they become permeable and will leave an unfavorable lingering scent in the boat.
Happy new year. All the best for 24. Very interesting & well explained. Thank you 👍. Keep up the good work. SV Kiwi Lady Opua Bay of islands New Zealand 👍🏿
I am really liking your channel. The more you guys post, the better you are getting with the videos. And thanks for putting in some of the stormy weather. Too many other channels show little of it. They just tell how bad the storm was but not show much of it. We like to experience some of what you experience. As for the boat work in this video. Well done and yes, a shit of a job, but you gotta do what you gotta do! Peter Australia
Dude, you could market that skill! The fact your familial experience developed a tolerance to what, I have heard, is one of most detested jobs on the water... Offer 'preventative maintenance' in each port you enter, you could make a frigg'in profit by cruising! I hope this gives you a chuckle, rather than a gag reflex! It was so good of you, to take his stinky self to dinner, and sit at the same table, was so adorable of you!
Thank you ,,, this is a topic no one likes to talk about,, and how many people have refused to go out sailing with me a second time after knowing how shit works on a boat..
This is a great presentation of the marine head maintenance. I saw one thing that I question. The new antisiphon loop appears to be significantly lower than the shower loop. Is it sufficiently below the waterline when healed (rail in the water)? If not, you may want to extend it a bit. Alternatively, you could remember to close the thru hull when on passage. But I know I would forget.
The anti siphoned loop is still high above the waterline but yes it is lower than the shower loop. I think we’re safe with its height. No issues as of yet!
I do not know if you have noticed yet, but I make a sincere effort to comment - they are never meant to be cruel of disparaging. If you ever read one and - bad - either you missed the joke or I am WAY into my cups and totally failing at communication!
Not only do I love the sailing , but also love watching you prepare meals on board .
Keep up the good work - for me it’s so real and refreshing. John Skowronek, Machias , ME.

Thank you so much for sharing ❤️ and for your kind words. It means a lot to us 😊

Well done, good thinking and investigating that non existant 26:07 valve that you replumbed nicely. Well done and finishing with potato niocci !
So happy y'all are back with your videos. Thanks for sharing them.
I really enjoy how you repair things on the boat. I also like all the details you include. Thank you. 😊

Great work on fixing and explaining how a pump out toilet works

Thanks for the toilet fix it lesson ! Can't wait to see Katy's new hairdo !!

Great to see you two back on Utube!!
@2:16 Couldn't you use a garden hose and blow water from the through hull back up into the toilet to unclog it?
“It’s raining so I’m gonna take advantage of… well, just cleaning it in the rain” 🤣

I don't know if id want to be taking apart peoples toilets in every port we enter 🤣🤣

I'm glad you two are back making videos. I too get to dye my wife's hair :)
That's a sweet galley.

@@Boundless_Adventure Great!
It blows my mind too watching how he puts that potty back together. Al those ppieces !!! Well done.
🎉 😊
You need to seal wood top and bottom ok? .......Love your videos......can you set cam back a little to you and her?
To see you and her at the same time, that would be nice.......
Coming soon! Teak and holly tie die version!
Our teak and holly cabin sole is sure in need of some refinishing!
@@Boundless_Adventure That was in reference to fumbling the hair dye ;-)
Do you ever discharge the toilet directly into the ocean? You seem to be suggesting that possibility in your comments about the anti siphon valve?
Shit, that was actually a very good vid!
Put some vinegar in that toilet now and then, dissolves calsium buildup 🚽😎
Good idea I’ll try that out! Thanks 😊
I hope that's not the salad bowl you used to catch the toilet water?
Toilet repair video, check! Now ready to move on to some less nauseating aspects of boat life. lol.
Agreed. Always the worst job. Always nice to put that one astern.

The Crap Chronicles...... LOL, Yea one of those jobs that really keep you in the dumps.
👍🏻👍🏻⛵️👍🏻👍🏻⚓️
Thanks 😊⛵️
Dude ! Puts some damn pants on!
🤣 try living in that humidity. Clothes are not fun!
😷😬😅👍👊❤❤
If you buy a second hand you're buying someone else's problem 😂
I think your best solution is to switch to an electric toilet.
Can't watch this one guys
The pump has to be primed. Those are vents. All plumbing anywhere in the world has vents. Has zero to do with "siphon".
