  • Hi everyone, here is part 2 of me still working on the last commission of 2020 (50x70 inch acrylic on canvas). In between trying to paint this painting I'm working several other pieces at the same time. Out of this segment, I was able to complete one piece. Not the one that I need to complete haha but that's the way things go sometimes. I completed a 36x24 inch painting the link is below if you would like to see the finished painting.
    Thanks so much for watching and please remember to like and subscribe to my channel.

      Hi Dominique, thank you so much and I'm glad you are enjoying them. Yes I want other others that may be struggling to know that we ALL struggle, that it's a normal part of the process. More videos to come in the new year :)

    I learn so much by seeing how many layers you freely work over to get a rich

    • @lorimirabelliabstractartist
      @lorimirabelliabstractartist  3 года назад

      This one had extra layers cause I wasn't getting the painting where I wanted it to go. Thankfully it all worked out in the end and the client was very happy.

    I thought ....once. ..I will try some abstract how hard can it be....just throw paint anoint and put a big price on it......RIGHT! Ha soo much respect for anyone who can create such marvelous works of art in what is a totally mysterious way to me. My abstract piece was just a mess lol. Watching you is amazing

    I love you style Lori, as someone who has a crumbling spine anything I paint that needs a lot of tight less expressive brush control I've learned to lay it flat, it's a pain when it's a large piece but less of a pain in the neck lol love your videos!!

    • @lorimirabelliabstractartist
      @lorimirabelliabstractartist  3 года назад

      Oh Gosh i can't imagine how painful that must be for you. It's wonderful that you continue to paint. Yes I love the expressive brush strokes and the larger the painting the better for me.

    I really love the one that you finished! Beautiful. AND I love the pinks. So interesting to watch you process - I love all the movements. Commissions must be really daunting!!!

      Thank you so much! Yes commissions can be a huge challenge especially is partners don't agree on colours.

      @@lorimirabelliabstractartist I guess knowing desired colours up front might be a good thing. I imagine clients can be quite fussy!🤦‍♀️

    Have you ever in the middle of a commission, have something else that is really looking good that makes you finish it? And start the commission on another canvas? I have done that a couple times where it feels like magic is happening on the canvas and I don't want to lose it. And start what I was doing for someone on another canvas. Well your demonstrating multi tasking at it's best, great stuff!

    • @lorimirabelliabstractartist
      @lorimirabelliabstractartist  3 года назад +1

      Yes that has happened but I don't start another canvas. I continue to paint....It trains me to remember that I a the artist and I can always make something else I love. Getting too attached in the early stages of paintings for me can sometimes block my creativity.

    How long have you been painting? Have you always done abstracts? Any other styles of painting? I'm enjoying watching you work.

    • @lorimirabelliabstractartist
      @lorimirabelliabstractartist  3 года назад

      I started painting in 2008 with acrylics. abstract is my only focus at this time. I was a realist painting and drawer as a hobby prior to turning to abstracts. It felt instantly like a perfect fit and I haven’t stopped since. I’m so glad you are enjoying the process.

    Hey Lori. You mentioned once that you don’t use stabilo woodies. May I ask why? I don’t want to waste moola lol. Thanks so much Lori.
