- Thor has long been one of the most unrelatable characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but one marvelous scene from Avengers: Infinity War featuring Rocket Racoon of the Guardians of the Galaxy changes everything.

02:50 "Thor is at his lowest point than he has been in any of the films"
Endgame : Hold My Beer
Touché!
Thor: Actually, give me that beer back, I need to drink it as I'm using alcoholism and humour to hide from my crippling sense of failure and guilt.
@@Zombiewithabowtie **Proceeds to chug beer down**
Thor in Infinity War: What more could I lose?
Thor in Endgame: I lost my Cable!! I need it fixed!!
For a split second I honestly thought it was Cable aka Nathan Summers, and I wondered when they met before I remembered the scene.
Julissa Duran LOL
Chris hemsworth is a phenominal actor. And that voice😍.
He's copying me!
Gay
I like that this scene finally tells us how old Thor is
THIS VIDEO NEEDS MORE HYPE YALL
I appreciate the enthusiasm! Thanks for that.
I hope he gets another Trilogy, Thor 4 is basically confirmed and he is already primed to be apart of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3
I think those might be the same movie
Growing up, Thor was always my favorite comic book. Somehow, the MCU has created such a perfect character of Captain America, that Thor became 2nd on my list. I still love Thor; I still think he's awesome as hell, but Cap...the way the MCU "created" him (not the comic book Cap, but the one in the movies) He became someone I could look up to. Someone I could hope to see others become more like.....which I doubt will ever happen.
As Rocket said: he's pretty good at that.
Only 20k views? This is a crime.
You deserve so much more. This was beautiful.
My wife and I started watching with your gatsby video. She absolutely loves you, and we really think you do a good job of interpreting movies. Keep it up.
Playing the videos of the memories over them a they speak has huge impact. This technique was also used in "Obi Wan Kenobi has PTSD" which I really liked as well.
Good video generally. Kudos.
Very well done! I hope many more people see this video.
You're exactly right. This scene was so comical, and also still very heavy. Well done by Russo's and your analasys too.
Probably the best of the collaboration, the focus on the scene with narrative interjections really helped keep the focus in a way the other videos couldn't. I really appreciated that you didn't try to overshadow the quiet scene, but instead added to it. Well done.
Thank you for the feedback! Achieving the right balance between analysis and letting the scene speak for itself was hardest part of making this video. It's nice to hear that it worked.
Very good video, these two characters have slowly become among the most emotionally resonant if all the Marvel characters.
Awesome video man. I almost cried.
That was a beautiful explanation. Bravo!
Thor is a very well developed & flawed character, making him one of my favorites.
This video was very well done & I agree.
EndGame did really well building up on all of that.
I agree. And I think that, overall, Endgame reinforced the underlying thesis of this video-one scene in particular. I've already got a script for a sequel video written that I'll make when Endgame releases on Blu-Ray later this year.
Thought & Word Sounds good to me
@@ThoughtWord Thor still had a mission at this point, the "Snap", and the later realization that they can't fix it utterly broke him. Fat Thor is what happens when you totally check out on life.
There is always that one asshole who has to dislike a beautiful commentary piece like this.
Thanks for the love, though in fairness, there's a pretty noticeable audio editing mistake with my narration at 0:55 that I missed somehow. Now I can't unhear it!
This is a great look at a wonderful scene & its place in the film's story, the character's arc in that film, the character's arc over all of his films, & the its place in the movies. Well done!
Thanks, Philip! Much appreciated!
This was a very well made video! I thoroughly enjoyed your take on this scene. It’s one of my favorites :)
You deserve way more subscribers. 'Nuff said.
Like The Beast from ''Split'' said: ''The Broken are the more Evolved'' REJOICE!
you sound like Nerdwriter Guy. Your narrative is not - dissimilar. Indeed, it's good stuff :D
I'll definitely take that as a compliment!
Really excellent!
Thank you Mr. Via, very cool!
The one dislike is Noob Master 69
THIS IS SO DOPE!!! LOVE YOU MR VIA!
Thanks, Mr. Anderson! Don't forget that Gatsby video. I think you'll recognize some of the ideas from class ;-)
Thor really needed those pep talks in Endgame, dude has issues and as much as he enjoys the friendship of the other Avengers outside of Professor Hulk don't really try to to get through to the guy, though for some understandable reasons
Well done.
This is why Fat Thor to me makes perfect sense. For some people finally snapping means an escalation of violence. For Thor it means wallowing in self pity.
The thing that bothered me was the complete lack of empathy for him in Endgame. No one person tries to understand his pain except that Rock Monster.
That's a fair point about Endgame, though I think there's something to be said about all the characters in that film hurting so bad that they are, to some degree or another, blind or numb to each other's pain.
@@ThoughtWord I guess making fun of Thor isn't really about kicking someone whilst they are down. It's about using humour to cope with overwhelming trauma.
I came out of Ragnarok dissatisfied by the relentlessly comedic approach of the movie, where the closest Thor got to being able to express his loss was as the setup for a dick joke borrowed from Dr Horrible (the hammer wasn't his fist...).
I came out of Infinity War with a whole bunch of positives, including "and they even had the scene that was missing from Ragnarok".
Somehow, in the middle of an ensemble movie with a cast of dozens, the Russo Brothers managed to find room for something that Taika Waititi couldn't find room for in the character's solo movie, despite it being obviously missing from it.
You did a marvelous job!
I can’t wait to see THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER
Well done 💟
nice video!
I love this upload time 2 vids ever 2 years
Well, y'know, full-time family and full-time job. I just do what I can do when I can do it! (Though hopefully I'll be able to pick up the pace over the summer)
@@ThoughtWord Well its ok its great content so its worth the wait and this is m'y fav vid from you
Thor and Hulk were greatly diminished throughout these last two films which helped the story and created more tension with Thanos. It allowed CA and IM to have more of a major role in the battles. Imagine if Hulk and 100% Thor showed up in iWar? Endgame would have been moot...
Infinity War is the best Marvel movie.
Good perception. Of course he does get lower.. I was hoping he would get bigger and more powerful, not turn 40yr finally.... :)
I'm curious on where Sif went.... They said she was not on Asgard when it was destroyed, but she got dusted in Infinity War... I hope she shows up soon
She might have been Betty Rossed (the character Betty Ross has never been mentioned or seen since her appearance in The Incredible Hulk). Kevin Feige has made no plans bringing her back.
Yeah Lets not mention that the Warriors Three were killed by Hella too. Better to treat them like insignificant characters. WTF is with that!
1:17 that's a made up word!
All words are made up.
Thor should have gone for the head
theory...... if thor grows bunch groots get army think carve dead asgurding names in groots . as living tombstone. life lost be replaced on dark world. odin, frigga, hydull, warriors 3, lady sith, hella, loki, witch weird if loki shows up again says this one says loki. well you died. but seem cheated it again.
