    That’s my group ride that you rode past at 13:52 in your video! Welcome to our system - we are glad you enjoyed it 😊👍

      Guelph Lake definitely has some of the most fun trails in SWO. GORBA has done a great job making a trail system that really does cater to riders of different abilities there.

    Just played golf at Guelph Lakes and someone mentioned the trails.. I was curious... Now I don't have to be quite as curious... Perhaps I will take my bike next time I go down for some golf and go for a ride as well... Thanks for the vid.

      Your welcome - the trails at Guelph Lake have been around for quite a while but GORBA has put in so much effort in the past few years to continually improve the trails and making features to challenge more experienced riders. They are some of the most fun trails around.

    Tried Guelph Lake this year for the first time. Had a blast. It's the best trail for beginners and experienced riders to both have a ton of fun with no real challenging climbs and no mandatory tech. Fight Club and Firefly are my favourites. The berms really encourage pushing the pace...maybe a little too much😁. Also one has to watch the stumps hidden in brush just off the trail - pedal strikes hurt.

      I agree - it is such a fun set of trails for all abilities. Enough optional features to challenge and push progression but still safe trails for the beginners to enjoy. Fight Club and Firefly are some of the fun ones for sure - did you try Phoenix, South Park and Snail Trail? They are all a blast.

      @@sluggomtb7414 I did try Phoenix but not the others...yet. Will have to do some more exploring there before the season ends. The problem for me is that the newbies I've been taking get tired before we've done many of the trails. It's great that there is the "bailout" trail than runs through the middle of the trail system.

    The berm work on Snail Trail look mint! Looks like a fast one.

      It is a really fun trail and a very easy climb to the top so easy to run Snail Trail a few times on a ride - so your first time there you can ride/reride/freeride and dial in those berms.

    So, is this more of a an Out n back trail?
    From what I've read and watched, I get the feeling that the best way to ride these trails is on the way back from the driftwood.
    Is it possible to park on Wellington?

    • @sluggomtb7414
      @sluggomtb7414  7 месяцев назад +2

      We generally park on Victoria Street and there is generally one trail in/out (Middle Ground) and then everything else is generally looped. There are very few trails you ride in both directions. So I would not necessarily call this an out and back trail - more of a lolly pop. I think you are asking about parking on Wellington 124 and then getting into the trail system by going to Driftwood trail first - I am not sure if there is a lot of parking along Wellington 124 - I do not see cars parked along it very often. Victoria Street has a lot of parking on it so we usually park there. I hope this helps!

      @@sluggomtb7414 FIiiiiiinally made the trek up there today, solo, unfortunately, and had an absolute blast. Parked at Riverside which turned out to be a good move as it was Ribfest; plus you get to enjoy all the additional single-track that runs alongside the east side of Royal Recreational Trail. I totally would've missed that if I parked on Victoria.
      Looking back at my ridelog, I really didn't hit much from within the condensed trail area, (Phoenix, Mad Hatter, Devil's backbone, Homestead) so I'll have to revisit.
      One thing's for sure, though, you ride those trails a heck of a lot better than I did. 😄

      @@S_Mendez_28 I was there today also - rode with my son. We just stayed on the east side of Victoria. I’ve ridden some of the single track on the west side along the river but haven’t ventured too far in that direction. Trails were fast today. It was a good ride.

      @@MrTacoJay I'm originally from Ottawa but have not had the chance to mountain bike there much - the trails look so much more interesting (IMO) than most of what is around the GTA. I would love to try Mont Ste Marie and Camp Fortune some day.
