I had the tri ribs on my 1250 when I ran my tiller on it but like you said as soon as you drive on any kind of lawn you destroy it. Ended up going to a more factory tire for that machine and the tri ribs are going on my Case 444 when I start working on it. Guess I'll see if I can get a set of those Hartford tires for my 982 and I'm temped to put a set of R4's on my 982D project. On a funny note when I got my Cub 1000 back from a friend he gave me a set of smooth rib style tires in 18x9.5-8 and they would look correct on a super QL. Great video showing all the different tires options !
Thanks for the in depth review of tires! Not sure but I might have been the person you referred to asking questions about front tires? This exact topic is what i have been contemplating on recently. I have front and rear ag tires on my Cub GT2148 and it does well in all applications on my property. The manual steering is too hard for my wife and thought i should go to the Tri rib? The front ag’s have not damaged my lawn since i have excellent drainage, hilly property. I reversed the direction of my front ag tires to see if that would help and seems like it did a little bit? I plow snow on a 300’ drive in the winter, have a box scraper for my gravel drive and mow 3 acres. Thanks again! BTW, I work for a company that makes rubber tracks for Case IH and the Steiger tractors! Will be at Farm Progress in Boone working our booth.
@@mmal253625 Yep you were the one who I was referring to. You may be able to get by with the tri ribs in 18x8.5x8 in turf if it is dry, but the 16x6.5x8s are pretty thin deep lug. That size may not be a great choice.
Ive been thinking about adding some bar ag tires on the front of my 1969 Case 222 thats my plow and all around work horse for pulling. Its got trailer type tires on front and Ags on the rear. My 1978 john deere 316k currently has turfs up front and Ags in the rear thats my mowing machine once the fronts wear out im goin to swap on some of those smooth ones with small grooves all around. Until I someday get a stand on/walkbehind mower the 316K will be the mowing machine.
@@ClarkWhidby I think they would fit, But the rims on the supers are wider so the tire would cup in and look strange. May not have as wide of a footprint also. Super rims are not easy to find , But they are out there. The super spindle area is a little wider also. I did put super rims on my 582. I used washers to shim the extra space and used a longer bolt. Adding longer spindles would be a better way to go, But mine does not get used much so it works for what I am doing.
@@steiger256 thanks! I just picked up my first 582 with a kohler and I was looking into fixing it up some so far it’s my favorite tractor I’ve had so far
@@ExcitedDreamCatcher-gn4ke Both sets the 18x8.5x8s and I have 3 sets of 16x6.5x8s. They all came from M.E. Miller tire. The pictures on there website may make them look diffrent. I did get the 16s 8 years ago.

Can you fit those 18-9.50-8 af tires on a 682 with the original wheels that have 16-6.50-8s on them?

Where can you buy these 3 rib fronts? Miller tires don’t look right, the middle rib is way to high, these are perfect
