Another fan base that probably does not like this update has to be Bengals fans. There are two reasons that will make some of the worst in Who Dey nation scream their heads off over this extension. One, this pretty means there will not be a reunion of that dominant LSU Tigers comprising Burrow, Chase, and Jefferson in the pros. Even if the Bengals try to make a trade for Jefferson, it will be a massive cap hit for them, which will inevitably affect how the Bengals can build their team around their core. Two, Ja'Marr Chase will be demanding a similar contract once it's his turn to earn his big boy contract. Burrow himself will be counting up to $57M in cap space once he hits his prime, and I know the Bengals will keep Chase, but to have another $48M in cap space on top of Burrow's, let's just say the Bengals will need to hit on their draft picks to compete, cause retaining good players do not come cheap. Somebody will have to walk in order to keep the team under the salary cap.

Another fan base that probably does not like this update has to be Bengals fans. There are two reasons that will make some of the worst in Who Dey nation scream their heads off over this extension.
One, this pretty means there will not be a reunion of that dominant LSU Tigers comprising Burrow, Chase, and Jefferson in the pros. Even if the Bengals try to make a trade for Jefferson, it will be a massive cap hit for them, which will inevitably affect how the Bengals can build their team around their core.
Two, Ja'Marr Chase will be demanding a similar contract once it's his turn to earn his big boy contract. Burrow himself will be counting up to $57M in cap space once he hits his prime, and I know the Bengals will keep Chase, but to have another $48M in cap space on top of Burrow's, let's just say the Bengals will need to hit on their draft picks to compete, cause retaining good players do not come cheap. Somebody will have to walk in order to keep the team under the salary cap.
