@garagebuilthondas-cool to see you comment on the video of my car! First car I ever modified, which was also my first car, was an ‘85 Civic 4-door back in 1991. It had black bumpers. One of my best friends at that time had an ‘88 hatch with black bumpers. I’ve always liked them, and have no intention of changing them.
I am EF owner as well, and man he nailed it. I love to drive and for whatever reason, this particular Honda, and Im sure the other Hatch generations as well are the embodiment of what it means to drive a sports car.
I agree with that. Since this video he’s done a few more things. Waiting on him to install his cams then I may bring it back on the channel. I’m trying to get more 90’s jdm cars on here.
Cams probably won’t happen this year, Shane. Waiting on the Toda parts from Japan for one; two, I’m seriously considering pulling the head and sending everything to King Motorsports for a refresh/rebuild.
This car has been going under a lot of work lately. Spoon wheels, a complete paint job and they pulled the motor to paint the bay. Alot of new upgrades too.
You shouldn’t miss ED 😂 sorry ,I know what you meant. Lol Yeah this car was legit as hell. Super clean. He just bought Toda Cams for it and is building the head now. I haven’t heard that Brand name in years. I’ll have to get him to bring this car back on here. I’m glad a lot of people enjoy it.
Sounds even better now! Got the Link stand-alone ECU and coil-on-plug conversion installed, and everything tuned. Runs smoother and is actually a little quieter.
I hadn’t touched this car in nearly four years, got it running right before Shane shot it for this video. Thought about selling it a time or two while it was sitting and couldn’t bring myself to do it. I’m glad I didn’t. Hope you might be motivated to work on yours!
Ya never sell! It's better to sit then to sell, I put my JDM front on and then pulled mine apart for the rhd and then life happened, haven't touched it since, few videos on my channel racing if you want to see it. Should check out the one titled "Brough performance H2b ef"
I have a similar set up and am looking to swap out my header. I have the old JASMA header still and was wondering what options on headers would bolt up nicely. Thanks.
It’s been a long time since I messed with B series and I had DA integra’s so I’m not sure about B series in a EF. Hit up Brian the owner of the car on his IG. He’ll be glad to answer that question. instagram.com/best_gen_hatch?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Doesn’t hurt the motor at all. The car is tuned with the silencer in, rev limit is set a little low, where the hp curve starts to flatten. That’s around 7,600 RPM; a little low for a B series VTEC, which might be due in part to the silencer, but we risk no damage to the engine at all. And it’s obnoxious without the silencer.
Man, I love this. So cool how the owner kept the DX look with the black bumpers even with the EF9 front. ❤
This thing was beautiful. The owner is changing a few things up now but nothing crazy. Still gonna be the same OG look. I may record more of it.

Besides the SI middle taillight red filler plate on the hatch. 😁
That comes on DX too, Standard model was the only one with the black center panel.@@gxiong3917

@@subculturenm that sounds like a wonderful plan.

EF looking so clean, love seeing this build together. Super Stocked for this video to pop up!

Damn! I do miss my ED.. Love that he is still keeping a legacy of Honda.
Keep it up!✌

I think it’s in very good hands. He loves that car.
🔥🔥🔥🔥love it! Olds school jdm! Brings me back to our high school days , I miss my ep3 now….
Dude it was so nice. Rides really good
so clean. love the Omni Tach and the Recaros
Everything is correct from the era. It’s Crazy.
Amazingly clean EF. Wow ,it’s like living in the past again.
It was mint!
Iconic generation.Gold era.
I love clean jdm builds from the 90’s
I love EFs! They are my favorite.
EF’s and the EM1 2000 si are my favorites when it comes to civics.
Man that thing is a beauty I love the sound
I haven’t seen one this clean in years. It was just the right sound. More engine, vtec sound rather than exhaust.
Sounds even better now! Got the Link stand-alone ECU and coil-on-plug conversion installed, and everything tuned. Runs smoother and is actually a little quieter.
@@subculturenm I can’t wait to see it!
I have a white ef9 front RHD ef in my garage, havent touched it in 5 years. I probably should soon, thanks for the video, it was nice
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Brian’s EF in the video is very clean and I’m glad it gave you some motivation. 👍

Great job, Shane! Thanks a lot for featuring the car.
Yes sir! I had a really good time. Thanks for letting me do it.
What spring rate do you have on it?
@@Robert-mu4bs we run the Koni/Ground Control coil-overs with 350 lb/in front and 300 lb/in rear.
🔥🔥love it!
It was so clean. I’m really trying to get more 90’s car on here.
🔥🔥🔥beautiful
I was having flashbacks the whole time of being a teenager again 🤣

The b16a3 was a secret to usdm market
Yeah possibly. Never thought of it like that
Nice
Thank you sir !
Great EF. One thing I quite wonder about is, why does he pull the engine so hard with a DB-killer in the exhaust, that fucks the engine up.
He actually told me once we started going he forgot to take it out, oh well. But yes we noticed lol

15x7 +40

‘89 dash, ‘91 cluster and cover.

You should install a different steering wheel
I don’t even remember what steering wheel he had lol
LOL. It now has a genuine EF8 steering wheel.
