For example, if every 8 measures a new instrument or a different melody was introduced, it might've helped. I just tend to hyperfocus on the music and nothing else. I don't really care about why the artist made it or what they were thinking or what the lyrics say, if there are any. I understand that makes me a bit of a weirdo but it's just how it works up there. It’s funny how the things you wish this song had are the things I’m glad it doesn’t have. A “crazy solo in the middle” or some overly indulgent technical playing would have made it soulless and turn it into some wanky pretentious bullshit imo
I think everything has a time and a place. I wouldn't want for this song to stay the same and have some insane guitar sweeping solo or a machine gun of chops in the middle because it just wouldn't make any sense. Technicality doesn't just mean lots of notes. Interesting chord progressions and melodies also show a certain level of technicality that I personally enjoy. The end of the song actually had something that I was interested in hearing because it introduced a new production technique that wasn't present earlier.
