Lincoln is now a design leader. Instead of hard edged exaggerated styling, that is at best polarizing, Lincoln is giving us timeless design that will still look great in 5-10 years. Kudos!!!

There is an adage about how men should dress that goes something like "Look like you spent a lot of time and thought dressing yourself this morning, but also that you haven't given it a thought since." I don't know why, but these new Lincolns, starting with the Continental, remind me of that. They have this classic, understated look about them at first glance, then you look closer and realize the designers definitely put a lot of thought into everything. I love it.

I like the design. Subtle elegance. Lincoln has really stepped up their game. Love the seats, if you can’t get comfortable hear ,you don’t have a human spine. I wish it had the Mercedes twin lcd displays. 295hp is a good start, but the for 2.3 is still a question mark for me regarding the build quality & reliability. I think at $60k it’s trying to hard to compete with established Marques like Bmw & Audi.
So Glad Lincoln is using real names for their cars. I’ve rented many Cadillacs over the years from their suvs to the large sedans. I still can’t remember their alphanumerical nomenclature(CTs,xts, xt5, xt4, xt5). Most car companies are equally guilty with their alphanumerical profanities.
After 20 years of owning Audi’s, Bmw’s, Mercedes, Lincoln has my attention. Good job Lincoln.

THIS is a really improved Lincoln compact SUV, IMHO. I own a 2019 MAZDA GT Reserve, 2.5 L. turbo, AWD and it is a very good "near luxury" SUV with about 90% of the Corsair's features like folding side mirrors, 10 speaker BOSE sound system, Voice Command, 4 heated seats and cooled front seats, etc.
So with the new Corsair I absolutely would put it first on my list ahead of ALL European and Japanese luxury compact SUVs. Like my CX 5 GT Reserve, it is a lot of SUV for the money at any model level.

Brian Buehler Agree. Very few do the full set of lights unsplit like the Audi Q5 also. Open the hatch fully and I believe both have permanent lights underneath in case the car is driven with the hatch open. I hate all other designs with non-daylight functioning lights in the hatch split from the “real” light cluster

I'm just glad Lincoln is cohesive across the lineup again, and finally giving Caddy some domestic competition. Great things on the horizon.
As for the new Lincolns in particular...eh, I don't know how I feel about the design language. On the Aviator it looks droopy from the back in some angles, which I hate, this one isn't so bad but were it not for the 2.3 I think i'd still go for an XT4 based on that alone. But that's subjective, in general I think they're doing well.

  • @0311uli

Just checked their page with what comes at their base model...I'm more than impressed. Add the nice interior lighting for a total of $38,900 and That's it. You don't need to load it for $60k. I could see Lincoln making a killing selling their base model of the Crosair.

I love Lincoln's new direction, can't afford any of them as I won't buy a base model or lightly optioned one but glad they are designing desirable vehicles instead of obvious badge engineered clones.
Depreciation will be interesting to watch, it's normally huge for Lincoln and has continued on the Continental but with these being well designed CUV/SUV's which are very popular it may be better.
Side note: Please don't say "we stepped up to..." unless Roadshow actually bought it. Just say "our tester..."

You actually get a lot in these vehicles at the base level. I’m currently leasing a Nautilus base, and it has all of the features I was hoping to get with the exception of the technology package with the adaptive cruise control - but that would have added maybe 20k to the price. I have to say that I’m really happy with it though.

GM has sooo much catching up to do that I don't think they'll make it. Ford has been knocking it out of the park with incredibly solid chassis's that allow them to easily trickle products up market. The xt5 is based on the Acadia and Blazer, all sporting ho hum drivetrains from 10 years ago. The all new ct5 looks pretty good on the exterior, but feels like nothing more than an upgrade rental car on the inside... Good luck.
