- A look at my multi-fuel conversion of a Harbor Freight Predator 4000 generator. I'm not showing you how to install I just want you to see it finished. This is the carb I used www.amazon.com... but you can also use www.amazon.com.... The quick disconnect is www.amazon.com...
I would have extended the wheel outwards with bushes ... no kink on the hose ....
Note: your system uses the pressure regulator to the house. Anyone connecting to a propane tank will need to have a hose with a regulator.
Fantastic. Gonna get my 9000 Predator converted so it can be the household back-up.
Came across this video, doing research for a friends Predator and it would appear that the seller you linked to switched the product since you posted this. Just a heads up.
Could you please add link of where you purchased the conversion kit?
You said you would provide Link, do you get the kit at HF also?
Outstanding!
Thank you my freand that's what i had in mind my salve to use
Thank you for this video and the info!!!!
I have the predator that comes with the propane or gas option and I cannot figure out where it's talking about to bleed the line. I see where the gas line goes in to kind of a round spot on the generator and supposedly that is where I bleed the line but there's no button to push or anything like that.
Please be safe ruclips.net/video/I1jT3ANENvI/видео.html using your generator
Does the regulator shut the gas off if the engine stalls?
If the engine dies, there is no vacuum to hold the diaphragm open stopping the flow of gas to the engine. The gas supply from your tank to the diaphragm is there until you close the valve.
How much natural gas does it consume in one day? Does the NG bill go up very much?
I only run it on propane so I can't help you with NG. I also run it on my 250 gallon tank so I never notice how much it uses. I would say somewhere in the 10 gallon range but my load is rather small.
Where do yo get the part??
I have a Predator 8750 7,000 running watts will I need a different regulated set up or will the 4,000 you have work?
Nice job Tony; picked up the same kit from Amazon;I also have the same generator predator 4000.did you use the same gasket or did you have to get a new one Thanks Mike

Hi Mike, I made a gasket out of the cardboard package sandpaper sheets comes in. It has this shinny side and a brownish cardboard side... it worked great. If I did it again I would buy the gasket when I ordered the carb. I've made a lot of gaskets in my time so the extra 5 minutes it took wasn't a big deal. If you're really careful you might be able to re-use the old gasket but mine was torn so I had to have a new one. Good luck, you're going to love the propane carb.
Mike Powers Can you give me the link for the conversion kit?
Has anyone tuned one of these carbs???
Hi Tony, Do you know the specific model number of your Predator 4000? and when purchased?
Hey Toni what hose did you use for the quick conect ???
oscar33127 i used some air line that i already had. There is not much pressure in the hose.... something like 4 psi or less.
Have you tried running it from propane with a regulator? If so, did you get a variable one, or just a low PSI one?
I have. I used a variable that came with my fish fryer. It worked great.
Awesome, thanks!
Worthless if you do not know where to get the parts.
Amazon... Or just Google it.
Have you run it under a load yet?
Yes I have. I've only had it up to about 2000 watts but it didn't even sound like it was working hard. I have no reason to believe it wouldn't easily do full rated output. I have only tried gasoline and propane so I can't speak for natural gas.
I swapped the same carburetor on my predator. I haven't ran a natural gas line to it yet thats why i asked, but i have tested it on propane and gasoline and it ran wonderfully.
What is the link to the carb kit. Great video..
I hope you are safe using your portable generator ruclips.net/video/I1jT3ANENvI/видео.html thank you. I hope you watch this video about generator safety.
Does that start easily on the cold weather?
It starts better in cold weather than gasoline does. Just push the button on the regulator for 2 or 3 seconds and pull the starter rope. It fires right up.
Thank you Tony. I’m truck driver, Federal regulations says we can have up to 8gal or up to 220lbs maximum loaded tank weight.
I’ll make another frame for my predator 4000 fully enclosed and use a propane tank. I’m going to use a 20lbs propane tank, even though I already have the 8gal tank I believe 20lbs of propane will last way more than 8gal of gas
