M y 91 year old Dad was a Spam salesman 70 plus years ago living in Austin cannot wait to show him this video Thanks Jacob glad Jenn allows u to eat spam
@bobknobbe3561 In fairness he did say 71 years ago so maybe in the 1950s they did. Who knows Either way Spam won't exist soon. It's gross and the younger gen won't eat it
Adding to the tocino comments (pronounced “toe-see-no”), tocino is sweet marinated pork belly in the Philippines. Spam is huge in the Philippines along with other canned meats like corned beef and vienna sausages.
My late father served in WWII as a DC9 mechanic in Samoa. All of our childhood, Spam was not allowed in our home because Dad was so sick of eating it as rations during the war.
my favorite little city, was just there in November and I have family names up in that museum if they still have the wall of names of packers that left to serve in WW2
Wow. I am from Sweden and I had no idea that spam came with different taste and forms. When I was a poor student I bought spam and canned food. I had no idea how to bake spam I thought people only ate it cold as it was.😅 Thanks for posting this. Today I have learned something new.
I’m amazed. I’m considerably older than you, C’bagger, & I thought those younger than me would never had heard of Spam. I ate & loved it as a child but not thought about it since 😊
Probably the most amazing part of the Python SPAM skit is how trapped the woman was in being forced to eat SPAM because she couldn't order any of the dishes sans SPAM because it wouldn't be that dish if you took the SPAM out, so it would become a dish they don't offer. A crowning achievement in alternate universe bizarre nerd humor.
I didn't know that there were so many different flavours of SPAM. Here in England we only get plain original SPAM, we like it. SPAM = SPECIALLY PRODUCED AMERICAN MEAT.
@@AKayfabe I don't think the SPAM figgy pudding came to the UK. It's what is known here now as Christmas pudding, which is a British christmas staple. We have one every year. I Don't make it from scratch, thought many do, our goes in the microwave for a couple of minutes.
OmyGosh! I was there at the same time as you! I was part of the tour that was going through. It's so fun to see you go through the museum because I wasn't able to try out any of the interactive stuff!
Tocino is a pork-belly product common in the Philippines that's been cured in a sweet marinade and is frequently served for breakfast. Spam's take on the dish definitely captures that sweet, bacon-y flavor, so much so that it makes us want to run out and buy the real thing for a direct
First time I had SPAM was on family camping trip (50+ years ago). Cooked with some canned baked beans in a cast iron skillet over an open campfire. One of my best meals ever!
I hope that it was planned out that you wore a yellow and blue shirt to match the SPAM logo! I need to go here it looks like a lot of fun! Another great video!
It's similar but I prefer Treet. My mom used to bread it and fry it, yum. Another way I like Spam/Treet, cube it, fry it til it's really brown then put it in a bowl of cooked 🍚 rice 😸
Morning Jacob 🌅🤓📸 thanks for sharing this Spam a lot lol looks nice. I think you been here before, its great to come back to see what been going on. Thanks again for sharing.😊
This is so interesting to me as I love your channel and I am very fond of SPAM. I even made it into the finals of the Kentucky State Fair SPAM recipe contest about 25 yrs. ago. (Final table, didn't "ribbon". 😢 I made a SPAM pate with a hint of horseradish. Served with cornichons and french bread toasts). You do the best videos! Love you and Jen- safe travels!
If you want to get penny presses, the toledo zoo has at least 5, just saying. They also have a museum in the zoo. Very cool dioramas with lots of interactive activities
Tocino means Bacon in English.. Jacob, have you ever tried Pork Roll ? Next time you are in NJ, look for it in a deli.. usually, pork roll, egg and cheese on a hard roll with salt, pepper, & ketchup... trust me, you'll enjoy it.. try to get the pork roll well done... you're welcome !!!
Omg hi I am a fellow Minnesotan and we litterally just had a spam and rice sashimi bowl right now I didn’t even know this was here in. Minnesota!!!!!!!thank you for sharing this !!!!!

Aw shucks, I'm an hour late to the video and I missed my opportunity to make the spamming joke. Thank you for carrying the heavy weight of bad jokes. It's a burden.
Hey Jacob I ate spam in the 1950s when I was child , my mom loved it with eggs, now they have low sodium, I’m still eating it and now I’m 73 yrs old, still alive, yiha, Gary from Brooklyn,
Actually funny enough, I got a can of the maple spam recently with the "this is going to be disgusting" but it's actually really Delicious, the sweetness really balances out the saltiness of spam!
It may come as a pleasant surprise to learn that SPAM is not the preservative-packed mystery meat you might think it is. In fact, SPAM only contains six ingredients! And the brand's website lists them all. They are: pork with ham meat added (that counts as one), salt, water, potato starch, sugar, and sodium nitrite.
Their gift shop is mid, just like most museum gift shops, and they don’t even have toys. However, the only good museum gift shop that I went to was a train museum with actual trains and they had a train transformer in the gift shop, but I didn’t have the chance to buy it because I didn’t have money at the time.
