Chopping! What is this viral fiddle trend and how can it help you? Today I'm breaking down the basics of the rhythmic fiddle backup technique of Chopping. I'll run down getting the best chop sound, the stick and release technique, and all the way up to getting a good back beat "2 and 4" chop as well as adding some chords. This is a super useful technique for anyone who needs to back up another musician with a fiddle, especially applicable to bluegrass music and jams.

Check out Casey Driessen, he has great resources and is objectively the best most inventive fiddle chopper.
