I have a djembe made of Djala wood. It sound beautiful when times right and when it has a nice skin. I have had over 15 Djembes over A 35 year period. I started drumming on June 3rd 1984 and been drumming ever since. With no formal teaching of a master Djembe instructor or master drummer I had to learn most of what I Know on my own. So I been watching RUclips for many years trying to learn different rhythms properly. When buying a djembe o have felt that the djembe picks the person because not every djembe will be the right djembe for each individual person. DjembeD have lots of personality and a Spirit that connects with a drummer. I have owned many Djembes that were very nice sounding when tuned right. A well tuned djembe is a very happy Djembe. And when learned how to play properly will sing like no tomorrow. So when finding a Djembe make sure the connection is unconditional and a strong bond because normally the right djembe will fall right into your hands when you pay attention to the right signs
amazing if you are in uk and come by somerset on a full moon pop by glastonbury tor and pop up at sunset you will find other drummers and they play together its amazing you must come to experience it
@@jethrohendrix5091 God be willing I am financially stable and can travel I'll definitely go to experience the drum circle. My step dad years ago was stationed in Europe and he loved it there. My step father also was a djembe drummer bit didn't drum very much when he was in the military. So before he passed away he taught me a little bit but didn't get the chance to teach me more like he wanted to. But I continue to learn because he always encouraged me to keep drumming and learn everything I can. So hopefully God be willing one of these days I'll bring Djala(my Djembe) and drum. And thank you for sharing the invite and gives me something to work towards

It's hard to compare sounds over the internet. Your best bet is to go to a store that sells a variety of drums and compare them. Good luck and happy hunting.
Me honestly I wouldn't own one. I always stay with the authentic traditional Djembes but I have heard some nice sounding Remo Djembes, but but just never could get into owning one for me it is like the good ole saying goes to each their own as far as the sound they want and the skill level of the drummer as well as other factors. As with and hand percussion drum purchase a drum that you feel will be comfortable for you to play and that won't damage your hamds

wiccanwarrior9 I have never seen a drum go out of round. I have seen the skin move down the drum unevenly, which is normal and not usually an issue. I would talk to the person that sold you the drum and send them pictures to see what they can do for you. We have taken drums back after 30 days for various reason. Unless the drum was damaged, they should work with you on this. Best of luck

The heads will stretch down. I would not expect the drum to go out of round.
