One of the best tours and owner interviews I've seen, great
Wow, thank you!
I was thinking the same thing. It's because the interviewer asked great questions.
I can listen to this guy talk about boats all day.
Great video! Seems like a knowledgeable dude and a well-chosen, well-thought-out boat. Nice to hear encouraging words about the use of a punchy solar setup + hydro generator.
This was Way More than tour, Way more than a sales commercial LOL...
THIS WAS INCREDIBLY INFORMATIVE.
I found you folks a week or so ago...I'm not binge watching but when I 'hit duldrums', I hoist sail w th Sailing Family.
Love your content, your travels, (even more...your family) Love watching the boys mature as young lads and young seamen...their antics on shore are just as enjoyable. Your wife is an amazing woman, Lady and mother.
Your knowledge per this 'tour' blows me away.
Win my 'ship' comes in, I'm 'fantasising' about a power cat but want a sail also...No desire to sail around the world But west coast to HI would Not hurt my feelings. (Fair weather sailing/cruising condo on the water for me..LOL.
I was leaning toward 50' now I understand. You've Very Definately challenge my original choice for a cat.
Safe sailingvto you all. Be safe, Be well from SweetHome, OR.
"Hull of Despair", that's awesome :-)
So great to see Seth in real time! And welcome to my home shore. If you haven’t seen the channel check it out. Brilliant capture of a young family’s highs and lows on the ocean. Thanks for the walk through. Great to see Archie at its finest.
Excellent interview Brent, Seth is a wonderful ambassador for outremer and clearly explained to the audience the features on the Outremer51 that he finds important for a cruising family. His channel is very underrated. One question: @12:48 Seth mentioned that the separate leech and luff reefing lines allow for reefing while sailing downwind, I’d be interested in getting more detail on how this is done and whether a single line reefing system can still accomplish this.
Hi Jack! Seth here. The advantage to having separate leech and luff reefing lines is that while sailing downwind we can center the boom and carefully lower the halyard while independently sheeting in the parts of the sail that need it as it drops. You can probably still do this one a single continuous line, however that is a lot of stress on a single line and I don't know if the sail will allow the leech to come in with the load on it. That said, it's worth a try in light wind to see if it works. We HATE turning the boat into the wind to reef, and this set up has changed our lives for the better because we are not as scared to reef as we use to be. Send me a PM our website if you want pictures of how it's set up. It's a great feature. The disadvantage is you need two people to reef.
Seth knows what he's talking about👌.
Great boat, great advocate for sailing, wonderful family and fantastic adventures. Couldn’t wish for better role models and advocates, both the family and the boat!
Dang you Seth!!!!! you sold me!
Wonderful information on this true sailing catamaran and family. Seth has the sail plan and options so dialed in. Thank you.
Thanks for the tour today guys! Loved meeting you all and big thanks to the boys for letting Adaline play with their toys 🥰
did you hire Seth? he will sell a Outremer full spec in a couple of hours, thanks for the tour
3 boys and no washing machine, that’s the only thing hard to swallow. 😬 your wife is a saint.
This was extremely well done. Watching @thesailingfamily I've always wonder what the rest of the owner's cabin looks like and now we know.
Like the way it rolls right over the Seawind 1190 Sport!
Great boat, lovely family with top RUclips channel.
I'd drink margaritas with Seth. Love The Sailing Family.
Love Seths vids. He and his family are fun to watch. Tell them to post more vids.
Great interview. way to hit all the key points and make it enjoyable at the same time.
Good to see Archer looking good after that mooring ball tore lose .
Beautiful boat, I've seen this boat at manly and throughout pittwater on my travels but i think they have moved on from Sydney now. My offer is 1 kidney and 1 liver, Google tells me these organs can be worth $819,000.
Hi Seth now I see why you need a drone. Looking forward to following your travel.
I kind of get what he's saying about "if you go carbon everything..." but carbon everything doesn't need to be driven by a desire to get max performance. Carbon everything can totally mean "I can fit a washer AND dryer" or "hey look, an extra freezer for more food storage!".
Fascinating -video with good questions for Seth to share his knowledge and experiences. Hello from London Landlubber s ; - )
Great boat Seth, got a question: there are two massive winches in the salon @4:42 I like them but any details on their use?
Yes these are used to trim the traveller, raising the dagger boards, gennaker sheets and dinghy davits. Seth has one electric and one manual
Great interview! And look at you Seth, with your conservative haircut and cleanly shaved chops!
Very informative 👍 job well done 😊
You do know that a boat is only as safe as it's Capitan. If you don't believe me, just check out the history of the R.M.S Titanic . I'm on the ball today guy's and girl's hehe . That's it , that's all I got . Now I must rest me head before it drops off . Great boat guys .
Excelent interview
Thanks!
Absolutely Beautiful
Looking good with the “hair cut”. 😜😜👍👍
Would love for you do talk to them about trouble shooting on the boat.
Trouble shooting what exactly
Why is nobody mentionning the Marsauson Composites cats ? The TS42 won the ARC 2020 in a new record time (A TS5 won the 2019 edition) and also the Rolex Fastnet . Dazcats are also very fast cats , but Outremers are getting a lot heavier lately . Compare 8.6 tons for a TS5 versus 11 tons for an Outremer 51
The TS boats are definately high performance and nice cats, but at those displacements could be quite flighty so you need to be on your game offshore with a family.
Marsauson builds quick cats for sure but balance for cruising comfort, berth, storage and overall finish. Outremer, H&H, Gunboats are all different experiences for different markets. Almost forgot Seawinds another awesome Catamaran. They are ALL great boats.
@@MultihullCentral1 You mean flying a hull with a wife and 3 kids onboard might not be a recipe for comfortable cruising? lol
Nice video. Thanks.
I would love a modern Outremer 45-51, IF I could afford it. Currently I have a carbon F-9A (31') I launched in '93 and I absolutely love the way it sails but my wife and I need more space to cruise. I hate the idea of sacrificing all performance for a condo. Unfortunately, any 43+ cat that performs, has galley up and isn't 20+ years old, has a huge price tag
I think you would love the Outremers...you can really power them up and they come into their own offshore. We race Corsair 760s and once you enjoy apparent wind sailing it's hard to say goodbye to that
my lord with the knowledge!
The head height looks like a issue for me. I have lusted after these, andwould pay through the nose for this boat, but not if I cannot stand up in large portions of it.
I’m 6’3” and was comfortable. What is your height ?
@@MultihullCentral1 6'3" I guess I need to get on one.
I bet he doesn't do the family laundry. If he did, there would be a washer/dryer.
What is this?! A crossover episode?!
Where'd Seth's hair go? 👀
I would want all the carbon options just so it would off set the weight of luxury items.
Can we discuss the difficulties of owning a boat that is red in color like that? Seems like this gentleman would need to spend an exorbitant amount of time to buff and polish it, but I would also imagine he's worked so hard that he's got enough discretionary income to pay people to do this work. If not, I would imagine the color choice to be a rather poor one.
Looks like someone got a serious haircut.
A Million dollars second hand. You would want the boat to be nice.
"A real blue water cruising boat", shut up. It is nothing but that. It is a light, IKEA inside plastic boat. Only good for racing. There is nothing about that that is a good blue water cruiser.
