No, not at all! I left it in the perlite for quite awhile so that the root system was really healthy and then it took off quickly in the new pot. Musas are very vigorous plants so, once they get growing they go full speed ahead!
@@sagarshah9973traded it to a friend last year but it was over 7 ft tall at that point! I don’t remember the timeline for recovery but there weren’t any issues I can recall. Quite a hardy plant!
@JohnDennery ah okay nice to hear. I've bought a couple that are about 5ft tall but they've been unpotted. Potted and unpotted in the last week so I need to pot them again tonight and I'm not sure if they'll bounce back
Hoping to see some new traits on the Ae Ae seeds I have on the way. I hear you can't grow variegated varieties from seed. But I'm not letting that stop me from trying.
You CAN grow them from seed it's just not guaranteed. Even 100 seeds from a variegated plant might not produce any variegation, but it's always possible. All you gotta do is believe and enjoy the journey! :)
I bought one of these beauties in state, she has some roots and her leaves, but I’m so nervous! She was my Christmas gift from my husband! Do you have an Instagram? Can I pm you to ask a few questions?
Congratulations! That’s such an amazing gift! Feel free to reach out anytime. I’d love to help you get yours settled in to its new home! My instagram is @enlightenedgardener instagram.com/enlightenedgardener/
Never going to get one of these now since they’re banned in the states ;( I heard they do better as outdoor plants and there’s a high failure rate indoors.
We'll still be able to get them from US sellers so hopefully they start spreading around the states more and more. I have heard that the aeae is tricky, mine is a musa Florida and it's been pretty chill so far. No idea why the corm is partially gone but it's still putting out new leaves so hopefully it's never an issue!
La mia apenas la compre un colino, y sus hojas son totalmente blancas y esta creciendo rapido en maceta, pero no daran frutos por no estar en el suelo. Saludos desde Colombia
Do you have at least a photo of this plant months or a year after it has been replanted?
Where did u purchase this plant ! I need to have one
Did you notice it have major transplant shock after you repotted? If so how long did it take for it to bounce back?

Is that musa still alive or did that rot affect it?@@JohnDennery

Cierto, nunca daran frutos.

is this still alive in 2023?
Yeah! It’s 7 feet tall now! 🥳 Trying to find a new home for it because it definitely deserves some 15 ft floor to ceiling windows 😅
@@JohnDennery congrats! Would love an update video to see it!
