Thanks to this video, mission accomplished! Thanks for this tutorial. Put lariat headlights in my xlt as well. Some parts were pretty tough. I did not end up unscrewing the wheel well mud barrier. The screws were plastic and stripped out. Luckily was able to work around them. Putting it back together was waaaaay easier than I thought. I put that wind guard in before putting the front grill back on. Good stuff. Thanks again!
i'm doing this right now and when it came to the side marker, it took me way too long to realize the thing was held in with a tab, so thanks for mentioning that there are videos about this or I would've probably bent my valence lol
How much of an upgrade over the halogens are these, including fog? My father's limited Ram is good in clear conditions, but absolutely awful in fog. We compared his truck to my wife's tradesmen with separate high/low side by side. Wife's truck high beams were useful, His just makes a super bright cone that lights up the water particles right down the road centerline.
5:25 also, I found it much easier to find the nub at the end of the screw, between the gap in the "pinch" points of the clip, and pushing down with my fingernail while unscrewing from the other side. this way you don't need to rely on pressure alone to get the screw out
One question, does that assembly come with the appropriate LED/HID bulb or do you have to buy that too? I heard from someone on a forum that it comes with a Halogen bulb?? Thanks for the video
@@markarniedimayuga1192 I’m gonna let you know he’s probably in the US therefore we don’t get the Everest. Never have so he probably can’t help with that.
I am done swapping headlights after performing a morimoto hid projector retrofit on my old 2000 Explorer and morimoto XB led fog lights. I’ll just buy a lariat when I get a new ranger. Nice work though, that’s impressive.
Well, after completing this task for my Alpharex Novas I have to say, that was a metric pain in the ass. It took about 1.7 "fuck!"s to get the fender flare clips off and about 9.63" damnits" to finally free the balance. Thankfully it all went back on easier than it came off. POS plastic screw clips never work as advertised either.
Not a problem, you can absolutely run daytime LED lamps. All it takes is a few changes through Forscan and you will be up and running. Do a quick search on Google or take look on the "Ranger 5G" forums and that should get you squared away..
Do you know how much it cost to grab a set? I have a XLT ranger and I can’t agree with you more. The headlights are ugly and the DRL on the lariat are just better in every way.
I looked into the Lariat headlamp assemblies for my Ranger, and I was told by my local dealer they were somewhere in the $2,000 range. I want them but not that bad. I'll check the junkyards out also.
Great video. They def designed the headlamp to be Labor cost expensive to replace. I had shit engineering like that. None of the vehicles today are service friendly.
Looks great lots of work and $$$. I just upgraded my bulbs to the GTR 2.0 and works great. I looked at aftermarket headlights like the alpha Rex but too gimmicky the startup lights to seem more novelty. I prefer more go than show..
It’s a complete pain, but I accomplished it because of your video. Thank you!

Awesome, glad the video helped.
Thinking about doing the exact same where do you order the headlights from?
Great video. We will be doing this on my friends truck and I wanted to get an idea before we dig in. Thanks alot
Good video. That's a ton of work just to replace some lights. Unbelievable.

dude i love your magnetic antenna. what is that
Why would you have to take the grill off if you’re also taking the valence off..?
I can't get the fender liner off, yours seems to already be removed
Whats the list of tools needed I get sidetracked easy lol swapping from lariat lights to alpha rex
did you have to install a DRL wiring harness?
How do you remove the front emblem from 2019 Ford Ranger lariat
After you pull back the fender flair to access the first valance screw, what size is that screw?
Do you know if the XL to Lariat conversation is the same plug and play?
Wished he’d reply .. I’d like to know
how much that cost you per back 4 years ago, I just called on em today 1700 a piece...
Great video! Do you have an idea how to install Lariat mirrors on an XLT?

The million dollar question is, where do you buy the led ones?
One question, does that assembly come with the appropriate LED/HID bulb or do you have to buy that too? I heard from someone on a forum that it comes with a Halogen bulb?? Thanks for the video
The headlamp assemblies come complete with the LED bulbs.
Nice work and thanks for posting!
What was the total amount of time spent on this?
Did you have any problems with the torque screws stripping, everyone I've tried to get at keeps stripping?
I’ve had only one strip on me. Key is quality bits. When the 25 stripped, I was able to use a 30 to get it.
Where did you buy the headlights and how much did you pay for them?
I got them from the dealer and payed around $2100.
@@ericmrobinson that is way to much! that's a cheap beater car to much
Sir, do you have video on how to change the headlight for ford everest 2018 model? Thank you
I hope you can reply here. Or can i have your email? I just have some questions. Thank you!

Good Day Eric, will these lights work with the Australian / South African model XLT Rangers??
Nigel Paul I haven’t got a clue. I would imagine they would be slightly different in some way.
Where did you purchase headlights?
Sorry for the late response. I got them directly from the dealer with a pretty good discount.

I’m about to purchase the alphaRex’s for my ranger. Is it the exact same as the lariat light install basically? It just plug and play?
how about the DRL? ive got one and i want to enable it.

What type of lift and wheel/tire setup ?
Just a 2.5 inch Rough Country level kit. It is sitting on Method 701 wheels. Tires are BFG KO2's. 265/70/17 with a "C" load rating.
Eric Robinson thanks man great video !!!
Nice video man. I’m subbed in
Thank to your video i did it 🔥🤯
your drl didn't work..?
You have to make some changes in “Forscan” to initialize drl on with the led strip. There are posts in the Ranger5G forum on how to do it.
Good informative video.
Great video. They def designed the headlamp to be Labor cost expensive to replace. I had shit engineering like that. None of the vehicles today are service friendly.
All this to change 2 headlights? I don't think you need to do all that to swap the headlights lol
Where can I get one of these new headlamp
These are the headlamps that came with the Lariat and you can order them through any Ford Dealer.
@@ericmrobinson Will dealership install them on the XLT?
Have fun getting those two 30 torx screws behind the skid plate. It's irritating as hell.
Thanks brother

Agreed, most of the aftermarket lights are pretty cheesy. Enjoy your bulbs. Any upgrade over the halogen is definitely an improvement.
Your garage is too clean. Headlamps look great. Must of cost some 💸💸
Good
Why do you ask for forgiveness cause of the mud? It’s your truck. It’s not for everyone to please
Complicated
Damn... come on ford.... my focus and explorer is 2 bolts.
