Those polishing pads look great. I'm not sure about the polishing compounds though, as I tend to use car automotive paint polishing compounds by Meguairs.
Polishing compounds are rarely as fine as other polishing compounds made for smaller objects. Because you don't really look at a car that up close, besides automotive compounds are usually follow up with something like waxing or some other layering, and thats what really achieves the shine, because the polishing compound itself is not at a super high grit. I mean you could use wax for models too, I'm just not sure it lasts, if it lasts and it's good enough for you, it's probably a simpler way to polish your model. Because going by phishing compounds like the one in the video takes more time.
What's the diameter of the shank?
This is very like polishing a car, you tune the combination of sponge and fluid to best suit the hardness of the paint.
I polished 3 separate pieces and 2/3 had the polish like cake on....I had a clear coat on all of them before hand..know why by chance?
do you have to top coat before polishing?
