Dude I love when John strand said “it’s suspending time” and fundamentally power crept the fuck out of stasis EVEN more. Truly one of the light falls of all time
I've been playing on 2000dpi 4 ingame for a while now and it really feels like the comfort zone to me. What cam says is true, I sometimes wiff distant snipes that might be the easiest shot to someone on low sens, but i also hit alot of quick flicks up close. Of course, I also play more overwatch than destiny these days, and high sense is very beneficial in that game (overwatch sens is 1 to 1 of that in destiny if anyone was wondering).
I recommend increasing your DPI instead of ingame sense because your mouse will register your mouse movement the higher the DPI goes. Increasing your sens to an insanely high sens then switching to the new sens is a great way to get used to a new sens. Also it probably wasn't your intention but your video goes to show that aiming isn't muscle memory but mouse control since you can still hit amazing shots on a new sens.
800 is a solid DPI that lets you easily find and translate a sensitivity across multiple different games. Some games allow you to select decimal sensitivity, while Destiny does not, so 800/1600 is a very comfortable place to build consistency across every FPS game you play. Finessing your DPI instead of your in-game sense with a calculator isn't doing you any real favors in the long run.
"Something clicked in my head." Oh yeah I'm Cammycakes. Proceeds to do the thing again. But honestly I think what you said about playing 100 sens is what I need to try as a warmup everytime I play. Great vid as always.
Another thing to note as well cammy. Higher sensitivity makes it easier to combat flinch since you dont have to move as far to adjust for it. At the end of the day, this game favors gamers that love high sensitivity on MnK at least. I just wish I could be one of those people
Literally had to replay the clip at 2:38 at 0.25x speed because, the first time, I straight up did not see the guardian he killed at normal speed. Insane. Also, was R2-D2 in voice chat at 2:52? Made me laugh.
As an old PC gamer, use used high sens because all we had were those crappy tiny mouse pads, so it was all wrist no arm all the time. We also had to take breaks to de-crust the rollers inside the ball mice mechanisms. Fun times.
in my experience swapping/trying out senses is SO scary because you fear messing up years of muscle memory but then it always just kinda works out and does wonders for your gameplay
A while back when I decided to start using SMGs more, I felt like my aim was too slow to keep up tracking guardians. So I turned my sens up by double and suddenly it felt like my shots were even more accurate. I usually rock SMG + Sniper and even my snipes felt dead accurate.
One thing i found helped me on controller was lowering the ADS Sensitivity Modifier just a little bit along side a 6 sensitivity this way i slow down my aim when ADS but at the same time keeping a faster look speed via sensitivity when im not ADS.... I'll be honest at first it mess's around with your muscle memory because 80% of players are used to there ADS having the same look around speed as when your not ADS but if you can get used to it this really does help a lot because you can have the best of both worlds if you get used to a lower ADS Sensitivity well at the same time having a higher regular Sensitivity to look around fast.
You might be interested in Raw Accel, you can make a custom curve for mouse acceleration which can kind of allow you to use low sens when you are making fine movements and high sens when making fast movements with your mouse.
I’m glad I suggested pushing your sensitivity to 20 and then you found out it went to 100. Love the vids man changing my sensitivity was the best thing I could’ve done
Great vid. When I started PC gaming in 2019, I was inspired by (and swapped to) your low sen when everyone else was playing on a medium - high sens Currently I'm using 400 DPI and 7 sens, so a tiny bit faster than your original eDPI With a large enough mousepad, I don't have the issue of 180s that you were talking about, but have definitely had situations where I ran out of pad Will give this a try, again awesome vid
My sensitivity journey started at a 3 for like all of d1 and the beginning of d2 but then I realized I wasn’t fast enough to turn so I switched to 5 which still allowed me to be accurate but turn faster. Now I use 12 sens with a .5 ads multiplier so I still aim at a 6 so it still feels close enough to 5 that I can be accurate but allows me to turn in broad strokes when needed. Edit: I exclusively play on Xbox so I only use controller but I’ve become very accustomed to my sensitivity home
I've always preferred high sens (~8.5 cm/360º), and recommend to set your dpi to at least 1600 for similar 360º distances, so there's no cursor/pixel skipping.
Actually the pixel skipping happens in higher dpi over 800. At least in overwatch. So 400-800 dpi is ideal. But i don't know if that's the deal in destiny also.
i used to play low sense all my life until i started destiny, in destiny i switched to wallahs sens which felt amazing and i stuck to it even in other games, i wanted to try out my old low-mid sens again and it felt so fucking slow lmao but the muscle memory was still kinda there so i was still able to hit my shots it's amazing how your head and muscle memory have nothing to do with eachother and they both work seperately
Takes me back to when I switched sensitivities. I had it pretty high (wasn't playing destiny at the time, but in destiny terms, it'd be 1600 dpi/15 look sensitivity) to what I'd consider retarded low (800 dpi/4 look sensitivity). In my opinion it didn't help me as much as I wanted to, but I could notice I was able to do stuff I couldn't when I was playing at high sensitivity. It took me 3 months to completely get used to it (muscle memory and everything). I imagine it'll take you a month or 2 to get fully accustomed to your new sensitivity, so give it time, both in-game and in general.
I personally run 1600 dpi, 3 in game, and a 0.7 ads modifier. I suck mechanically so having a lower than average ads sens helps a lot, especially when sniping. I also run 95 fov just so everything is a little bit bigger, which I know isn't optimal, but it's what works for me.
There was a few year period- from when I moved to PC in Forsaken all the way until Witch Queen- that my dumb ass played on like 3600 DPI because that was close to what I was used to on school computers. Switching down to 1200 DPI and cutting my sens by four times what it used to be felt like being stuck in time, but it did WONDERS for my aim long term. Genuinely don't know how I went flawless at one point with sens high enough to do SEVEN 360s on my less than a square foot mousepad.
This is the same concept as rocket league players. We practice on slow-mo, then after a while, turn the speed to normal and you feel like you’re playing/reading the game way faster
I main TLW on controller, what I am really trying to experiment with is a specific setting on the Xbox elite remote where I can map a movement zones on the right stick to accommodate TLW hip fire while also having a smooth sensitivity for sniping while ADS. I still don’t feel like I have nailed it yet.
Practice plan on controller: Jump to max sens, then drop to 15 sens w/ x0.6 zoom (9 zoom). (I'm that guy in the comment section). Gotta go fast. Turret players can't play pve, so they got no juice.
I personally love the feeling of 3500dpi with 3 sens It gives me the best of both worlds where I can 360 a target if needs by while sill allowing me to maintain almost perfect recoil and accuracy control. And If im having a particularly bad say for aim I always have my DPI clutch on the left side of the mouse to reduce my DPI to 3000 while its held down.
Old baseball pro trick.... If you are in a slump, hit 50 or so balls off a tee from the other side of the plate. It forces a mental reset on some of the habits accumulated over time in your comfort spot
Depending on your mouse and its software, you might be able to have on the fly sens configuration. If you can find a dpi that is close to the slow sense, you can have a toggle button / macro key to switch between the two senses
The amount of AA handcannons, and a ton of other guns in this game who are we kidding, have absolutely makes them a crutch. Don't let people ever tell you otherwise that's plain fact.
Amazing video! My issue is swapping from controller to m&k. I have played controller my whole life and the change over is difficult. What are some tips for improving.
I use max and still feel like it's too slow in D2 in comparison to other shooters like cod, Even if it's objectively better I just can't get behind low sensitivity
As someone that plays osu regularly but not the greatest at pvp, what you’re saying is that it’s the same as playing and AR 7 map on hard rock then going back and playing a map that has an AR 9 rating so it feels slower and a lot easier to play.

I know you have sworn by the last word for a long time. Or atleast after the hip fire change it got. But aside from "hip fire feel" and having radar up. Is the speed for aiming from the hip worth the range drop off. Because if it's just information and awareness ace is providing the same. I have been running L.W. and it works but I'm having trouble putting a name to why. Do you have a way to describe this?
I know one guy, that uses something like 2/360(a little bit slower than 100sens 800dpi) for his sens and he has 2.5kd and a lot of dudes thought that he is a ximmer or a cheater lol
As someone who switched fully to PC in the middle of beyond light. Mnk and controller for me feels identical except reticle friction. Like you said with starting tips of autos to hand cannons, HC’s literally hold your hand lol. But on other games I can’t controller such as xdefiant and BF2042. Games are borderline unplayable on pc with a controller and mnk feels natural. Wish mnk felt more natural on D2 but I guess D2 is way faster than other two games
Do you think that if we were in a Threadrunner meta (like, LITERALLY everybody used it) we would see people start to use Disruption Break weapons to counter?
Played against what im assuming is a ximmer the other day, first time ive ever seen a console player be able to whip choas reach around as much as they want and then it clicked for me why. Really do want bungie to change the locked super rotation on console though, mainly for pve reasons.
I had a Logitech g305 and when I upgraded to a g pro I had to decrease my sense from 800 to 650dpi. It felt the same for some reason. Probably because the mouse is much lighter
yeah when i went from a roccat kiro to a kone i had to adjust to its new weight. i don't think i had to change the sens though but it is a LOT lighter than my old one
Somewhat similar to the topic of XIM/controller emulation, I actually forsee the death of controller aim assist sometime in the near future, or at least reductions to it because of gyro aim control schemes. as a controller player, I feel aim sensitivity carries in the aim department. Before the ads sens change, I used 7 sense to both aim and freely move around. I cant use 7 sense anymore because I’ve been maining 14 or 16 for too long. I wish you could change your aim sense lower, but 0.5 is decent enough for what I used to run. Technically I haven’t changed much from 7 sense, but I still feel the need to tell people that ads sense carries your aim.
A CSGP pro once said your aim changes hourly and you should find a small spot on a wall to hit and if your rounds are landing behind where you're aiming you should speed up your sensitivity and if your rounds are landing ahead of where you're trying to hit, you should slow down your sensitivity.
My sens is 14 with 2000 dpi and the equivalence of that for every game for the last 14 years of shooters people are always shocked that I lean towards and perform with snipers 😅
another thing I didn't mention.: if you go to 100 sens for a joke, triple check your polling rate is correct when swapping back.
