As am I, I'm sure Handel would be brought to tears experiencing this performance. I'm almost at a loss for words, but among other things, composers of such stature achieve, in a sense, immortality by virtue of musicians such as these putting the effort into such exquisite execution of their work...

Time and again, I listen to this performance. It is beautiful, it is telling you a story, it is using the language of music, communicating an emotion exquisitely told by Sarah Ridy on her harp accompanied by these superb musicians. Endless, timeless and magnificent.

Amazing. Some people had no idea how difficult it's to play triple harp. (It has three parallel row of strings). Sarah plays it just extraordinary. And the ensamble does a great musical work. Congratulations 👏🎶🎵👏💐

How many strings does a Baroque Harp have? And what is the tuning and range for each of the strings?
    Great Performance though!

Sore point. No surviving instrument has a range that the modern versions of the instrument has... with a big bass G at the bottom for Montiverdi, and a top E for the Handel concerto, even though the works are 100 years apart... but the Handel was not written for this type of harp... the harp that would become known as the Welsh harp has a completely different construction, and design, but we know that that is what Powell, who the concerto was first performed by, played that style of harp. The argument that Handel was an 'italianate composer' so use an Italianate harp is completely spurious...

@@Parkerharps9966 It's all pointless, no new instrument would have the same wood as then, the same quality, or aging. And to expect any harpist to have the money to have multiple instruments built to special requirements is utterly absurd.

What a tinny harp, lousy tone. Can't hear a note when the strings are playing. Not worth hearing or playing.

    • @AOConnellHarp

none 1st off, the harp is simply supposed to fold into the corporate sound for ripieno passages. 2nd, If you’ve ever touched a triple harp you’d know immediately how incredible and virtuosic this performance is. The strings are not laminated like pedal harp gut that is meant to project over a romantic orchestra. Perhaps on a welsh triple you’d hear the higher notes projected a little more, but this sounds incredible just the way it is- as far as triple harps go, this one is beautiful! Cheers, a harpist.

what a stupid comment by someone who does not seem to have the faintest idea about sounds of plucked baroque instruments. This harp is outstanding compared to many other baroque harps: clear, carrying, penetrating and balanced from bass to treble
