Ain reason is that we got a running clean e46 for $400. I've never heard anyone argue E36 as better (unless they want to weld on control arms, since they're steel). What makes them better? A little late for us to change now... -Joe
@@RogueFabrication Oh man, 400 dollar for a clean running E46? I live right next to Germany but I cant find them that cheap! If left original there is not much difference but we build drift cars and the steering geometry of a E36 is far more easy to modify. At the moment we are restomodding an old 2002 and in the front its all E36. E30 at the back.
Pretty sure they are the same thing, people swap arms between them and E30’s. The knuckles are different, is that somehow better on the E36? All the steering racks are also interchangeable anyways.
We still have the nose piece... and It will be going back on. It also isn't a tube-frame car with a body resting on it. Passes my test for "is this still a X" ;) What are your criteria? Original engine? NO frame mods? Not trying to argue. I am curious! -Joe
@@RogueFabrication Mostly I'm joking! I do also own a '72 2002, incidentally. I'm more about keeping cars original / OEM as possible. I'm changing only my seats (to Recaros) primarily in order to preserve the original seats. Obviously for racing that needs to change to certain degrees. I used to race a '74 2002 in the early / mid 90's, which was stock engine (w weber & headers), drivetrain, suspension (except for adj. camber), tires/wheels and required safety equipment. I still believe yours to be a '72 2002 because it will have mostly the stock body & frame (modified)! What I don't know is, will you be using the M10 engine? As I write this, I guess it's the body that makes it car! By the way I was led here to you via 2002faq in which I participate. Enjoying your videos. Are there any other 2002's in Lemons?
This car is going to be wild when it’s done!!
we are as excited as you are! Stay tuned for more ;)
Super cool upgrade!🔥🔥🔥
Thanks! 👍
Very nice work btw. Subbed!
Thank you. We're working on the car still! We're getting content for the next 3 episodes all at once :/
very cool
Thank you! We're already working on EP4!
Any reason why you chose a E46 subframe? I used a E36 subframe in my 02: the best steering you can get!

I don't think that's a '72 2002 any more 😂
