I live in West Clare, Ireland and we have a young wild mink lurking about around our house. I guess they're a bit of a pest here because they began with minks that were once on fur farms and then either got out or were let out when the farms closed a long time ago. They're called "American minks" and they're pretty much all black. I've only seen 2 in the 6 years I've been here but I suspect people who live closer to the River Shannon see more.
This made me weirdly emotional...lol she's so adorable I can't help it...It must be extra scary for her not being able to hear the sounds around her. Ethan is such a great critter dad 🦊🧡🦊
I am only ever going to call my ferrets fur slinkies from now on - that is absolutely the best thing to call any animal in the weasel family I love that

I would take her out for her last pit stop before bed and then stand and call her to come in. What an idiot I was! She can't hear me and I talked to her all the time. Maybe we're just silly, right? Gotta hand it to vets. Some days they'll get standard patients like dogs, cats, rabbits, and birds, then the next they might get mink, foxes, coyotes, pigs, and servals. Incredible on their behalf.
