Thanks guys! Great breakdown. I love the tones in this song. In UNseen World and the latest Unleash EP, Kanami was starting to play in the higher octave range. In this song, she brought it back down and the effect is so much more powerful and pleasing to the ears. Akane and Misa are just gods. They are the best! Love the song.

First: this was a great react. Breaking down the tracks in isolation is a great way to showcase the incredible talents of all five members as individuals, and bringing it back together in its final form 😁 further strengthens their cohesion as a group. Bravo for the format. 👏
Second: just over three weeks ago, I had the honor and privilege of attending my very first live Maid show in Portland. They utterly burned the place down, and it was a mountaintop experience that I am never likely to forget. Two music-loving friends that I had convinced to attend said it was literally the best live show they’d ever been to.

Alan and Eric, It's good to see both of you again. Everything about this new Band Maid song is Awesome!!!. Inside Joke. It's actually great that the both of you describe the technical side of what they are doing with examples. You two need to continue to do this. Hell, the hard rock logo title of the song is even cool. One of the great things about this song is that Saiki's (and Miku's) voice cut perfectly through the tone of song.

Yes, Shambles is the Akane show with special guest stars Kanami, MISA, Saiki and Miku. But wait! Was it really the Kanami show, because she wrote the song and played it with such forcefulness and exquisite abandon. Or was it the MISA show because without MISA, the rapturous drive of the song would be a ride on four flat tires. Or was it the Saiki show because she focused the sonic chaos into a song with melodies that could express Miku's lyrics like no other singer could. Without Saiki, Shambles might sound like a familiar instrumental. Or was it the Miku show because, damn, she wrote the lyrics, played the important rhythm parts, and added her unique brand of backup vocals that have become a defining "sixth instrument" of Band-Maid.
So exactly whose show was it? It was the Maid's show, as usual! 🤘🎀🤘Thx, Alan & Eric!

Id Buy Everything from Band Maid if a Jazz Rock Album with 5 Songs on it I think Kanami Misa and Akane have to Combined IQ to Write a Jazz Album.
Since Misa and Akane are ORIGINALLY Jazz musicians. Misa can even Play Trumpet and Violin i believe.

I agree with Alan, Kanami sounds different than she did on UW or Unleash, and I too like it so much better. Am not a musician and can only describe it as her guitar sound is coming across less 'thin' (?). 🤷🏻♂ But the stars of this song here are without a doubt Misa and Akane freakin' Hirose. 🔥🤘🏻

Nice reaction guys ! I think it's Akane's best pedal work so far (or maybe it's just more noticeable because it's constantly in your face). Quick question; did Misa change her amp from Orange to something else and is that possibly why her tone sounds so different ? Just a question.
They got excellent reviews from the Chicago Sun-Times and Rolling Stone from Lalapalooza. One even called them a Shock Rock band for the Maid costumes!!! Hope Miku read that one.
The song will also serve as the next ending theme for the brawler anime Kengan Ashura. Writing theme music for anime is a Big Deal in Japan, Believe this is the third or fourth anime theme they have provided!1

Good job!. The song benefits a lot from listening to it with good headphones. Bass and drums are really progressive on this song. It really seems that the girls have taken the next step, and in addition to messing with the strange rhythms (Balance) now they dare with the bars. Very of jazz composers this last.

This was probably recorded last year, I do not know what amp MISA used at the time of recording. MISA changed amp to Aguilar, no more Orange amps in 2023. MISA's bass tone will make concrete crack 🙂 Sai and Kyo - do it

One of the strengths of Alan is covering production like the audio mix. On a 2.1 home stereo only thing disappointing of the recording is the drums laid back in the track. Pretty standard for recording rock perhaps it's to sound good through headphones. Haven't checked on a set of headphones or IEMs.

I don’t believe the vocals are layered. I believe that Saiki is fronting with Miku doing support vocals. You can clearly see Miku singing support throughout the entire song.

I agree with dicodec on this. Miku's low voice is pretty distinctive and it doesn't sound like Miku and in mv she's looking down with her eyes focused on Guitar strings.
@@dicodecI've started wondering how much all the extra layers that most people usually (and quite understandably) don't even notice are there, contribute to the "over-compressed" complaints. Not that things _aren't_ over-compressed, but there is also a TON of tracks being crammed into a limited sonic space. OTOH when viewed on an equalizer everything is reportedly brickwalled, so I dunno.
