I love playing old cool Canadian music for younger Americans cause I know they've never heard it before. Pukka was my fav Canadian band along with chalk circle
I liked both of those bands. I saw their videos on MuchMusic up until my local TV station stopped showing it on dead air time in June of 1987. I was thankful I got the Canadian music that I did.
Another one of those tunes that defined the 80s!. Whatever became of these guys? They remind me a little of Boys Brigade as far as where they're from and being one-hit (or two or three maybe) wonders. Good tunes that didn't seem to pan out to greatness unfortunately!
Thanks for posting this, and for the restoration! The version of the song they used in the video was never released as a promo or otherwise, which is a cryin' shame cause it's far, FAR better than any released version. Heavier, groovier, louder, you name it! Would love to find out from the band why this version never saw the light of day.
@@CrosscutFilmsSask Oh yes I'm aware of that thanks - I was just always curious why this wasn't the version they released for the public to buy, or for radio stations to play. It's so much better than the LP version.
Wow The Good Old Days' when Canada has an amazing music scene now it sucks whale balls with nothing but Ship Hop. I can't believe this bloke keep his Brit accent these days people hate mine but f,,k them! Thanks for the restored video mate! 👍👍
MuchMoreRetro aired this video many years ago, but its successor Stingray Retro never played this video, perhaps due to depictions of cigarette smoking!

I vaguely recall hearing this song back in the day. I thought it was Al Stewart that sang it.
Tom Robinson, co-written with Peter Gabriel.

This was actually the version released for the video, which aired on MuchMusic.

This was so much better than "Radio Gaga"
uhm radio gaga is great also
It almost appears that their heads are being pupeteered back and forth by some invisible force. Maybe this is the radio? Anyhow, put a coffee on.
This video is a very literal interpretation of the lyrics.
EDIT: Even more so than the original:

Pet Shop Boys.
Not as good as the original, sorry it just isnt
Not bad, but I still prefer the original.
This is the original
@@kohgamingchannel9007 - Not so. The original was written by Tom Robinson and Peter Gabriel first released 1997
