I am sure all the FF fans will find the opening of this piece very familiar, because that is the case for me, even if I had never played the FFVIII game before.
When I first listened to this piano arrangement, my reaction was, "This is so interesting, and I am definitely going to play this!"

Shiro Hamaguchi put the arrangement in a very classical way. I especially enjoy the fugal writing for the main theme. It reminds me a lot of Bach when I was learning this part.
1:39-2:54
Upon first listening, it felt a little bit uncomfortable to drift away from the main theme; after getting to know this piece better, I LOVE this section so much; it is so intriguing to play and listen to. I would say Nobuo San does his magic again.
3:14-5:05
It is so nice to see this piece pay homage to the FFVII Prelude, which is one of my favorite pieces from the FF series. You may listen to my rendition years back:
