I added captions to Sujy controversial opinion starting at 8:00 so that everyone understand what she meant. Here in Thailand, transgenders is the 3nd official gender and there are 18 genders in total (we can define those as "gender identity"). So when Sujy mention the role of environment in gender and sexual orientation, it doesn't come from a hateful (conversion) right-wing talking point, but rather one of acceptance. Very young 2-3 years can be fluid in their gender expression here in Thailand. Sujy is making the case that it contribute to Thailand having way more gays, lesbians and transgenders than any other country (by far). It could be that they are not repressing who they are but Sujy and many others including in the Thai LGBTQ+ community believe that it's more than an expression of your biology. p.s: As for the video, Sujy didn't laugh because this is a foreign concept to her (hating the gays). It's not something common in Thailand so she has never seen people like those in the video. She's also not familiar with the words "fags" nor "evangelicals". So I explained to her while on our way to the coffee shop how religious people perceive the LGBTQ+ community in America.
Didn't know this about Thailand so I'm happy to learn how differently other countries view gender identity😀 max is very right about people's view on immigrants and transgender people becoming the new group to blame for all types of societal failings and it's sad to see.
About this song. We had a Swedish priest who wrote on Twitter that the song is really truthful, finally someone who dare to say what we all are thinking. He did not get it, that the song was to make fun of people like him. This song was played on a Swedish Tv-show once where artists are singing on a stage and the audience sing a long, a show called "Allsång På Skansen", on the pride week. Guess who sang loudest? The gay people. They understood the satire and made this song like "theirs" to get the Christian people who believes in these sort of things even more mad.
Suede here. This is a song bringing up the issue of blaming one group for all the problems in the society. This is something that humans has done all through history. This song and other Grotesko parody’s was mostly well received by the public. I work with refugees so for me this song really hit home. I would like to ensure though that majority suedes don’t think like this. LGBTQIA+ right are strong in Sweden. Something the LGBTQIA refugees I meet find really amazing and liberating. I’m so sorry if this hit a soar spot. That wasn’t the intent. It was made to be funny and to make people think a bit. As Max said, the last few years especially some suedes are blaming issues we have on immigration it’s not even true but it is so easy to blame a specific person or a group because then you don’t have to look at your self and questions how you or the rest of society is to blame.
Don't worry, I tend to overanalyze comedy. We both weren't offended by the song and Sujy knew that they were making fun of some religious folks. I also think that the intent serve a better purpose if it's to make people think, but sadly, I think that those who don't know that the song make fun of them are too far gone.
Bögarnas fel is a satirical song performed for the first time in 2010 by the humor group Grotesco and the TV series with the same name. The text was written by Henrik Dorsin, and according to Dorsin himself, it evokes homophobia. His intention was to write a text that ridiculed homophobia.
This song is made by Grotesco, a well Swedish-known comedy gang. They're like a B variant of Monty Python. A lot of their jokes are societal satire. Like the painter that said "No one really hires painters anymore, so I broke into your house and painted your kitchen. I'll send you a bill of 5000kr" and opens a workers' restaurant with affordable prices in the house he just broke in to. Really wacky! Very strange. I think that if something is painful enough for me I can't see it as a joke. The potential danger overrides my sense of humor and I become serious. I grew up in Sweden and lived here for a bit over 34 years, and during all this time I've only met one to three Swedish people that thought homosexuality is wrong. That's an insanely low amount of unacceptance compared to the overwhelming acception rate. I take this song very lightly and see it as a critique against straw men blame (like a scape goat, yknow?), turned up to a such a bizarre level that it gives both shock value and I guess passive support towards homosexuals. Me and my friends used to sing this at a peaceful festival, with a stereo so people could hear, and about a third of our group was open gay/bi. It's a fond memory of mine. Lots of love everywhere. I understand the song can seem frightening though. Sometimes what's a joke for one person is a reminder of something awful for another person. If you are used to being bullied for your sexuality, you can move to Sweden. From what I've noticed, very few actually cares what sexuality you have. The most notice homosexuality gets in Sweden is a few pride parades now and then. In like 99.5% of Sweden you can relax in being homosexual. I think most people who are against homosexuality in Sweden come from other countries. Come and chill
Im not sure Sujy understood this video.. I could see on her expressions that she may have thought that it was a anti-Gay music video. And that is VERY VERY WRONG.. It was the other way around, it was about making fun of Religions.. Because All religions have always been against HBTQ, and they make up things that isn't good in society, and blames it on HBTQ people..
She did understand, you can see it in the after-reaction when I ask her about it. But Sujy will feel this way about words no matter what. Satire is not Sujy favorite humor style.
I'm gender fluid and love this clip from Grotesco, the biggest reason is because they are pissing hard at religious people, religion is supposed to be a good thing, but most mens interpretation of it is horrendously wrong.
The devil's in the details. And I think the English translation didn't make the Swedish lyrics justice. The English translation is too loose. "I sat by the computer so much so that I got a soar neck, and that's the gays' fault". "Wine and liquor and Volvo isn't even Swedish. That's the gays' fault". One guys' parents where horrible to him and they blamed their own actions on the gays. It's supposed to be so over the top that it shouldn't be taken seriously. Like when you jokingly pretend to slip on a banana peel, you don't slip like you normally would, because that's not funny - You can make a funny sound, wave your arms and legs so much so that others understand "This is out of the ordinary, so this is a joke". I'm sure that if you take this song seriously it could be horribly scary! I'm very sorry if Sujy didn't like it.
This song is played at the pride parade in sweden almost every year, everyone loves it but the Church section always swiches the song when its playing 😂😂😂 ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
It the religios who start it in the comedy, but then other people in the "audions" agree and starts complain and sing along ex people that probebly would have vote for Trump (or the parti nearest him in Sweden) and some icel etc. The blaim spreds in the society. Grotesco is so damed good to showes the absurbs. Love them and the brilliant song(s). 😂😂😂
Well. for that the transgender people are partially to blame themselves, when they crave respect for their values and lifestyle and choose not to respect others. I don´t think that I have to give any example, I´m pretty sure that you know what I´m referring to.
This is a sencetive matter to joke about, I know that. Suju, your woman I take it, is´nt thrilled about it and I understand her. This group "Grotesco" did many satires that I think would be described as "over the top" sort of speaking.... Many times! Just watch them beforehand so you know what to expect.
Your reply is very "Americanized". There is only a "point of it all" for those who are affected or have experienced such people. Travel, see the world, and I guaranteed that you will become less ignorant. I also doubt that you saw the "after reaction". I changed the thumbnail text just now knowingly.
@@MaxSujyNorden It's not being ignorant to expecting people to laugh at comedy.😅 A comedyclip making fun of religion. That you don't need to travel to understand. If you don't laugh you either love religion to much, for someone to make fun of it, or don't understand the point of the joke. No one is making fun or homosexuality here. It should be obvious for everyone.
The only person so far who don't know that we know that they are not making fun of homosexuals is you. It's a "you" problem. You didn't watch the "after reaction". The first question I ask Sujy after the reaction is "Who do you think they were making fun of?". Again, it's a "you" problem for stopping where the song end. Now, instead of triple down, perhaps take my advice and watch the after reaction. There is a timeline that I put knowing that some of you have the attention span of a toddler.
