Thanks for this great overview. Hadn’t though about the plunge factor with these bits. Good to keep in mind.
I wish I found this video two days ago before I bought 3 straight flush trim bits.
Yeah, I hear you. Spiral bits do have the advantage (except price)
Best
Hey have ya been spending more time on wood lately? Love the sewing content , but at the end of the day you produce quality informative videos regardless of the topic!
Yes, I'm trying to keep it balanced between wood and upholstery topics. Although I just got a Morris Chair in last night, so stay tuned!
Thanks
Great info/tips! - Spiral has changed everything - finally in the routing world - Have you ever changed the bearings on the RFTD5125 Spiral Downcut Flush Trimming bit to a larger diameter bearing for offsetting the cutting from the template/pattern?
No I haven't tried that. I usually like my bearings flush with the cutter so there's no offset. Thanks.
Not trying to be a smart Alec, but did you injure the distal joint of your left thumb via woodworking? and if so how?
Biscuit joiner.
@@TheThoughtfulWoodworker OK thanks for sharing. Looks like you came out unscathed function-wise. You can barely notice it, I only noticed because I watched this video many times. I like these bits, just saving up for my first one.
