That race on classic difficulty was a bit painful for me, but other than that, I really enjoyed this platinum as well. Loved the story and it’s stories like these that make me adore story games.
That race was the first time I lost my mind while going for platinum lol
yeah the race was a bit of a pain of Classic, but when I was in 2nd on the final lap, 1st place crashed lol
I spent six hours on it straight with all my friends watching the sharescreen come doing it
I stopped playing this game because I tried almost 100 times to complete the race I just couldn’t so I deleted the game😢
The race was super easy.
Can’t be as bad as driving 1000 miles in the Mafia 2 DLC.

19:44 It was the exact opposite for me. I played the original Mafia growing up, eventually playing Mafia 2 when it came out. I was starting to get suspicious once Vito and Joe got into the red Thunderbird. Once pulling up to the house and seeing Angelo watering his lawn my heart sank upon the realization of what was about to happen.

I cheated the race using a bug that caused the npc to crash, I tried to do it legitemately for 3 hours but couldn’t
I had to help my girlfriend finish the race for three times

Idk why but the race is always set on classic difficulty for me. I even got the trophy for completing it on classic difficulty
@@J3ffik you can enable "classic" driving even if you play on easy, but o classic difficulty it always set driving on classic

I love the killing tommy part was playable in Mafia 2. It was mindblowing when the second game was released. There was speculations about we will be playing as these two in second game from first screenshots but the models in 2002 game was not very promising in connection.
I’m proud of my country for making this master piece it’s sad that the original got overshadowed by gta but still thanks for making this video and don’t forget that don salieri always sends his regards

sam was my favourite, ending broke my heart 😭im attempting platinum after watching this! I just know that race is gonna drive me crazy
yeah this ending was heartbreaking.. but tbh I didnt struggle on the classic race.. but I saw a lot of people did, so Ill tell you what I did to make it easy, as I did it first try.. I overtook the slower bunch at the start, as long as you're in 3rd by the final lap, 1st & 2nd should crash into each other, or at the very least 1st will crash causing 2nd to break you can then steal the victory!

Great storytelling, fun gameplay that prompted me to platinum it. I'm now halfway through Classic mode after having finished it on Hard. Trying to get all collectibles replaying the missions. I find the story to send the classic Mafia hopeless message. Not very original, but extremely well written and told. The cover shooting is the weakest part and I expected quicker load times.
Soon as I heard you say you don't know the ending I gasped so loud, it's a shock to the core for sure and is an actual mission in part 2.

I gave up trying to get that 1000g on this game. Last achievement I needed was completing the campaign on classic. That race was one of the most frustrating things I have ever done so I just gave up.

@@M0R7_7 Collectables weren't hard for me just a long tedious process. That race was rage inducing but after completing some recent games it doesn't seem that bad anymore. Maybe I'll go back and complete it idk.
Found the entire platinum so easy but I think it was just the fun I was having on it
I'm perplexed by y'all calling this game easy, for me it was a nightmare and I had to switch difficulties in a lot of missions
for the people who doing the race mission rn, set yourself to first person bonnet view, you get a good view ahead and make sure you brake feathery since theres literally no ABS (obviously) until you get closer to the corner, and dont be afraid if you made contact to the other driver, theres no penalties
am I the only one who had no issues with the race.. I just cruised with the pact.. lap 2, like 3 people will crash, then the final lap if you're in 3rd, 1st & 2nd place will crash into each other then you win lol
@@itsstuddy same here, but i had some racing simulations experience and mostly every sim racers would set themselves to bonnet view so you know whats ahead clearly and how close you are, especially getting close to the kerb

I found your perspective of a blind play through when you had played mafia 2 before interesting. The scene of Vito killing Tommy happens during the story if mafia 2 you play it out. You didn’t remember it because at the time he wasn’t a character you got to know. Just like Vito you saw Tommy as just another guy who you were sent to kill so that you could move up in the mafia life. You feel sad about it now you got to see his story and I’m sure when you play mafia 2 remastered you will feel it too (I know you have already I just haven’t watched that video yet)
yeah it really felt like I played it in the way a TV show would be shown.. show the killers (Vito's) story first, and love him as a character, then go back playing as a "new" character Tommy, then coming to find Vito delivers the message was brutal for me
Love the mafia series, i have platnium for 1 & 2 but sadly stuck at 90% on mafia 3 with a buggy trophie involving a grind fest.
Same didn’t think it was worth playing twice
@@jordanshevlin09 Played it 4 times myself, and still not got the trophies I need because they're bugged. One thing I love about Mafia 3 is the music, it's great.

It was a great story, completed in 24 hours on default difficulty, got every single collectibles and then completed on classic mode to get last achievement for Steam, it was pain in the ass, especially race, it was hardest mission for me on classic mode to control a car....
Picked this up several days ago, haven't played it before. Only played Mafia 3. This game is astonishing! The graphics put some ps5 games to shame and the city looks stunning. Very immersive and convincing. Gripping story and good characterisation. Incredible achievement. That race though ;(
If anyone gets stuck on the race press “x” or “A” to ram especially on the corners and turns

This was my first platinum, I just platinum’d Mafia 2; I’m working on the buggy Mafia 3 now.
Once again, it's always a pleasure to watch your videos, my man! How refreshing it is to see a platinum RUclipsr actually do a plat for a game they ended up truly adoring, and not punish themselves with something hard just for the sake of it. We need that type of variety in the community! (Don't get me wrong, I love seeing people do harder and more challenging plats, but I also love seeing you guys go for plats that are just for enjoyable games)
And btw, when I did this plat I knew that if I could finish that race on the hardest difficulty, then I could finish the entire game. What a goddamn race lmfao💀

I love the fact that everybody still having a hard time trying to beat classic mode racing section. Even Gran Turismo pros have a hard time playing it. I’ll be in my third try😂😂😂😂

i think the race on classic made some hair turn grey I would turn my console back on in middle of night just to finish it I have no regrets I was tired the next day but.. it was worth it.
i'm so glad Mafia DE exists, Mafia 3 dropped the ball and if it wasn't for the remake i wouldn't belive Old Country could be any good
Honestly Mafia 1 plays better as a mafia 2 prequel. Where you already know who Vito is when he kills Tommy. Such mixed feelings.

It's pretty damn weird that Baskerville's missions in Free Ride don't give any achievements.
The one thing that stopped me is that stupid racing mission that racing is harder than any combat encounter I had on the hardest difficulty
No trophies for side quests is absurd, it would at least notice the players of their existence!
Finishing the game in the hardest difficulty would have been super easy if it wasn’t for that god damn racing mission

Is it possible to do the collectibles and fox trophy in freeride?
The Whole story trophy gave me a scare too 😭, turns out you need at least one mystery fox to get it.

Just watch out for mafia 3, it’s got glitched trophies. There are workarounds though.
Did all Mafia games this past December. Loved all of them but that classic difficulty race can suck it.
Even worse: Vito kills Tommy when you're controlling Vito in Chapter 14. So it's actually you (the player) killing him.
It’s ok I would’ve done Vito if I was tommy my tommy was a beast he jumped out of moving vehicles he didn’t hold no grudges
I am midway to the platinum and idk why but my temper has worsened when talking to people since I started playing this game 😆
One thing I noticed is if you switch the mode at any point, you would have to start all over again .w.
Alot of people complain about how there's loads of collectables in the game, there's 172 in the game i think, but mafia 2 has 239 collectables in the game, 189 wanted posters and 50 playboy magazines, i got the platinum trophy for mafia 2 and technically mafia 3, i wasn't awarded 2 trophies even though i did everything i was supposed to do, i have 14 terror tales magazines to collect in mafia definitive edition to complete the collection trophy, i just need 2 more cars in my garage and beat the game on classic mode for the platinum trophy 😁
cant say you technically got it😂 you either did or didnt. I've done Mafia 1, Mafia 2 2x and Mafia 3.. so there all possible. Mafia 1's collectibles are easy, Mafia 2's are where it really drags.

I love how on the last chapter on the radio you can hear the declaration of war for World War II.
I actually found myself listening to the news on the radio alot in this game, as it felt super authentic and accurate to the times

You can play game on classic difficulty to get both of those difficulty achievements. No need to play story two times
Platinumed all three versions in 9 months. The only hard part is the race, which I mastered. Beyond that, it's a boring collectible grind, but could b e done in 8 hours.
Because of this game trying to finish the race on classic is why I stopped trying to get platinum and why I found trophies pointless at the end of the day no one cares and it’s meaningless and you’re wasting part of you’re life away. That just how I see it but that’s just me and my opinion. Before any of you get offended for whatever reason whatsoever, *REMEMBER* that’s just how I think of it.
Trophies are a better way to spend your money and time then on todays woman plain and simple

I didn't even get to the race. I gave up on the overheating car section,no matter how perfectly I drove, on the last stretch npc cars always spawned in my path, causing me to fail again and again.
If u struggled on that dont even think about the race that took me like 5 hours

As a guy whos from slovakia the best way to enjoy the game for my is in czech language cuz the creators of this game are from czech and were brothers with czech so i understand theyr language
They changed the ending to Vito for the Definitive Edition. In the original it was just some mobster.
mafia 2 has the same mission but you play as vito

idk if I’m weird but the game on classic difficulty is pretty easy in most parts maybe only it’s because I played the game like 5 times on normal difficulty and played the original like 3 or 4 times it should be harder like the health regeneration is the thing it’s making the game easier
Mafia 3 is a bit glitchy, took me 6-7 playthroughs to get the platinum. Should be able to do it in 2. One trophy where you kill all racket bosses and one where you spare/recruit them. Turning the game off resets the counter apparently, but even doing it without turning my game off didn't work one of the times.
Anyway, I loved the game despite it being the worst in the franchise and being very repetitive. Even after the hell of doing 6 or 7 complete playthroughs within a week and a half, I'd still be down to playing it again. someday. And I even considered speedrunning it. I did my final two playthroughs on the same night with a pack of beer lol.
I quit after 5 or so attempts that went 5/6 hours, but I read that it’s less likely to crash on the series X so now that I have one, I can go for the completion.

Mafia 2 is my favorite game of all time. M1 Definitive is also extremely strong. Waiting on 4!

@@itsstuddy I've spent one whole day losing the race, getting frustrated, but the next morning I've won it on the second try lol. I had to do it on the classic tho, the original is one of my favorite games and the platinum in the remake was like my 3rd one, cause I only do them for special games

Mafia 1 is a remake not a remaster. A remaster is basically a graphical overhaul & lighting ect... A remake which this is, is a game which is remade from the ground up.
The Race on Classic took me 4 straight fucking hours but I still love the game
