- The Mercedes-Benz GLB is an interesting new option for luxury SUV buyers. It's got three rows of seating like the larger GLS, it's about the size of a GLC and it's got the youthful vibe of a GLA. Nikhil Bhatia tells you how it all comes together.

The Mercedes-Benz GLB has been launched at Rs 63.8 lakh (ex-showroom). Variant-wise prices below -
GLB 200 Progressive - Rs 63.8 lakh
GLB 220d Progressive - Rs 66.8 lakh
GLB 220d AMG Line - Rs 69.8 lakh
With that pricing for what it has to offer it will remain very unique and rare on our roads 😅
The current Made in India GLC costs 79 lakhs. The fully imported GLB will cost more than 83 lakhs on road making it a total waste of money
If I ever need a 6 seater, I will go for Innova Hycross and save a ton of money + practicality of 3rd row seats + good fuel economy.
*No cap!* 🧢💯
Thank you for the detailed review, and the Third Row entertainment!
The video shot at 6m 30s is awesome! Great location!!
Summarising my All new Tucson is far superior in terms of features, specifications, comfort, better leg room and even the boot space.
Merc should have brought it via CKD route at the minimum if they really wanted to sell it... This is more of a attention grabbing stunt to show their commitment and much more of an attempt to sell their EQB.
All in all, the GLB makes no sense for what it is being sold at, for most of the people.
My bro has same car(or may be next level) GLB 250 4matic in Australia. Yes i agree with others on the overprice quoted here in India.
It simply doesn't look all that special. It will look outdated within a couple of years. Just buy a Jeep Meridian or Toyota Fortuner if you want 7 seats.
any other rivals? other than toyota or jeep ( from BMW , Audi , Mercedes or volvo )
Maybe some people don't want a matured product to change much. Maybe some people don't want all cars to look same
The GLB is a great car and I was eager to see it launch in India... However, a full import has made its value go out of proportion and honestly anyone would be better off with a GLC instead!
The GLB is an excellent car but a lit bit pricey would prefer the GLA which offers the same features but at a cheaper price
I have this glb in cosmos black and it is amazing also while doing off roading car says that is is just a piece of a cake ❤
Not ex showroom, but 4-5yrs old Q7 with V8 TDIs are available at half the price, so is it worth buying the GLB instead of Q7, which is for sure more comfortable with 7 seats
No cup holders in rear armrest? How do I car-o-bar?
Next gen GLC launching in India soon will be touching 90 Lakhs, so hence the 68-72 Lakh price for the GLB.
90 lakhs for a GLC! what- its just insane. the glc is worth half that at most.
Glb is disaster
Nope Glb is expensive as it is a cbu
@@adritoban7383yeah i agree as i own GLC 2021 model
I’m regretting
Question is now a days and future Electric technology in automobiles is happening but is it risk to buy petrol or diesel cars or bikes from now ?
It should have been assembled in India, the import duty has made the prices mad. 84 lakhs onroad Mumbai for a glb is just insane. Most of them would be better off with the glc at lesser price. And when there good 7 seaters like scorpio n, fortuner, meridian, innova hycross, xuv700 at less than half the price then this doesn't make sense.
Y does the model seem to be more under-refine than the same model in the USA, Germany, etc. The engine looks too refined and it indeed sounds very good... but the concerns stay constant... y does this particular model doesn't as premium as its sister model already out there in the market in other countries...
Had a test ride of this last week. Linear power delivery though. They will be marketing this as a Family car rather than pitching it was a 7 seater. Last row space is for kids only. A full adult won't sit for long journeys.
I have been waiting for my GLA since May booking. What is the use of showing this when they can not deliver? They want Indians to buy but won't deliver to existing bookings.
No 360 degree camera , no ventilated seats ?
Is it the same 1.3 turbo in Nissan kicks?
hear me out, I’ve been a luxury and exotic car enthusiast for long, all in for the value of the badge and the build quality/interior quality but to me this just looks super expensive when you have cars like the crysta and carnival available for atleast 50% cheaper, can’t deny they’ll be much more comfortable as well
Don’t forget the Kodaiq with that value luxury proposition and is a bargain compared to this.
Hopefully a CKD will come a year later like the S class and GLS at around 50 lakhs......
7:28 tire is off the ground😯
sir please upgrade video quality. we need in 4k sir❤
No spare tyre provision??
What is really the point of 3rd Row if this is how it is? there are no cars which is REALLY a 3rd row adult friendly
Will never miss "Just under 6 feet" 😛
While its a good looking vehicle with a luxury quotient, the high CBU price and little 1.3 turbo petrol aren't justified for it. CKD route and a bigger petrol engine should have been on the cards to make it more attractive as a package.
For context, the newly launched Innova Hycross from Toyota offers the same setup, is more than comfortable inside, and costs just under 25 lakhs. The Merc is priced at 75-80 lakhs! Isnt it obvious what the choice is…….🌝
I don't think Hycross would be under 25 lakhs but your point still stands about the choice, at least for me.
Autocar predicts it to be between 22 to 28 lakhs. By the way, is the Alcazar also a 7 seater offering? That is less luxurious but cheaper. 15-20 lakh range. Ideal middle class family vehicle.
Comparing the same our dated toyota with the same old stuff with a modern mercedes loaded with tech. Come on.
Why would one choose this product over the GLA? No spare tire, compromised 3rd row of seats, same interiors and same interior compromises as the GLA(no rear sunblinds, no rear A/C controls) and although turbocharged, the same low displacement turbo petrol engine used in the petrol GLA(it's ok for the GLA but the GLB should've had a better petrol engine. Reusing the same diesel engine is ok as it is very powerful). In my opinion, the GLA makes for a much better buy than the GLB unless you require require the length and that extra pair of compromised 3rd row of seats.
At this pricing why would anyone chose this over a glc?
GLB is like Škoda Yeti by Mercedes Benz!
It is way more expensive in its segment than its rivals.
Ye Kitnaa dethaa hai......?
New?
Price needed to be between 45-50Lk. At this price, one would rather get GLC.
what else can we get for 72 lakhs ex-showroom in India?if we want 3 rows of seating
Toyota Hellfire maybe
The jeep grand Cherokee.... Def looks and feels like a car of that segment unlike the glb
Hey bro not being sarcastic but the merc is really not Value for money ....
For 72lacs+ u can actually get a Toyota fortuner for 50l and an Innova crysta 2.4v model for roughly 24-25 lacs ...
Does it have a sedan counterpart? If yes then what?
for 72 lakh ex-showroom price you can get an E220 D exclusive from the same brand. 😎
Wow! I believe this was shot in Kotagiri, The Nilgiris. I can recognise the road of Kotagiri to Ooty.
After seeing the price tag, I feel that My earnings are way too less 😢😅
Mercedes new designs are just off colour. The old GLE and GLS used to look much more macho. These curves and swooping lines make it look like a crossover
Looks very ordinary. Doesn't suite 3-Point-Star badge!
I will choose hycross
Mini GLS 😢
why kill the GLS now
Why don't car manufacturers add the thigh support extenders to the back seats like they do for the front seats?
Is there any specific reason?
This car doesnt belong to Mercedes. Its an attempt from the brand to forcefully bring in volumes. The specs, performance and interiors do show the compromises and on your face in a pervasive feeling that screams budget. So if you dont get it for budget then dont get it at all.
GLA GLC GLB GLE …tongue twister
Jalebi
without a spare wheel is a big demerit.
This is for people who want a Mercedes but at the same time want to look broke
Car is dull..doesn't feel more than 50lakh plus..just bling
Even the other carmakers at this price range out perform this tiny buffalo
I like understated designs , but this one looks boring.
160 bhp and 190 bhp for 80 lakhs. Just impractical car. Max 30-40 lakhs could shell on this car not much.
No changes xcept 3rd row
Its a flop , no doubt
Buying this car in India is ridiculous!
- Does it have adaptive cruise control? Probably not.
- Does it have lane keep assist? No
- Does it have all the features that’s available in the US?
In US, the base GLB On-Road price starts at $38k (i.e. 32 lacs INR), and the GLB 250 4-Matic is just about $40k, whereas in India the base variant GMB starts at 70 lacs ex-showroom!
That’s just stupid! I can afford to buy this, but I’m not a moron. 😅
❤
This is total waste configuration of GLB. More like Merc clearing its leftover stocks in India and selling at illogical price.
It looks super ugly.. Surprisingly, nothing like the GLS, though I do see the similarity, but I think the size of the GLS is what makes it turn heads!
No spare, only a puncture repair kit. No thanks
MB is spending a bomb in marketing this poor product. Instead of blaming SIP habits of Indians, how about you make some decent products? All the current generation models look like it was designed by Hyundai. Even the S class.
tata safari is way better
Frankly merc shd make car which is just reasonable higher price according to india PPP....while in us it's 8 times higher we pay 25 times more...which just a pure waste of resources rather than saving for ur own family and future child's...and as their .MERC CEO Mentioned sip is taking their. BUisness ,i think people shd avoid such fancy useless lousy car 🚗 and invest in a good things say for buying a car that is reasonable comfortable and safety and rest save for ur future... finally no one is going to save ur ass when u will be in financial problems after buying these useless things...
Did not like it… 😞😞😞
Waste of money.
But not worthy 😢
Not a good product
No body will like it, fail model doesn't make sense
It will definitely flop 🤣🤣
The only mercedes i dont like 🤮
Flop car in India
Such a bad looking car! Come on merc
