  • 85,000 miles and there is no need to change the pads yet! unfortunately, my rear brake got some dirt/salt/rocks lodged in between the rotor causing damage and a decent grinding noise so I decided to change the rears out.

      @@Boost-EdAutomotive Do you need that tool to push in the pistons or can it be done like everyother car with a c clamp or normal tool?

    • @Boost-EdAutomotive
      @Boost-EdAutomotive  6 месяцев назад

      @@ericimi for the rears you will need to fit something in the groves to twist it back in. The fronts you can just push back in. It’s because the rears use a certain type of parking brake system

    Thanks for the vid! Changing the brakes on my Hyundai shortly (state inspection told me they are getting worn down). Wanted to say nice tatts as well! Looks like you got Hisoka and do I see a dragonball as well? Anyway huge anime fan myself and thanks for the vid again.

    Where did you place the jack (front and rear)?
    I've had a terrible time figuring that out for my Ioniq, lots of conflicting information online, no clear instruction in manual, and very low/ difficult to get under to look around.
    Very nice video.

      I have two low and long jacks. I lift in the center of the front subframe and the rear in the middle by the two big arms. Looks to be a rear subframe. I jack it up evenly and then set all four jack stands under

    Great video. Question .When your winding the rear caliper piston in does it require a lot of pressure to get it back? I have a rewind tool but yours looks much better Thsnks

      It’s not too much but it’s also not easy. Make sure your parking break is off. The hardest part is keeping the notches in the break to keep it turning

    Have you found that the rear brakes seize from time to time and are always grinding when you're driving?

    • @Boost-EdAutomotive
      @Boost-EdAutomotive  Год назад +2

      I think it may have to do with the parking brake.. it’s started grinding again in the back left. I only hear it at slow speed when rolling out of my driveway

    ATTENTION NO NEED REPLACE ROTORS OR PAD ON A IONIQ OR THE BELT I HAVE
    255K NO PROBLEMS YET BELT LOOKS GOOD AND MY BRAKE R AT 80%

    • @Boost-EdAutomotive
      @Boost-EdAutomotive  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah, brakes are definitely going to last a while! But the belt is not something I’m willing to risk. I have to drive 200 miles a day for work and need to be reliable. It’s only $100 as well, any more and if possibly double the mileage. That’s awesome though, 255k!!!

      I DRIVE 300 MILES A DAY AT TIMES NO PROBLEMS THRU ICE AND SNOE OR SUNNY DAY THE IONIQ WILL KEEP GOING ONE THING TO NOTE IS THAT THESE MOTORS BURN AF TUN OF OIL YOU WILL NEED TO ADD 1 QUART EVER 3K MILES IF YOU DONT GOOD LUCK
