As someone who suffers with extreme severe anxiety I can totally relate to her. I would stop eating for days at a time as a punishment. I worry a lot about my life, everyone around me and pleasing everyone. It's absolutely crippling, so glad she got the help she needed, lovely young lady it's so sad that society has 1 in 3 people suffering mental health issues. I hope everyone seeks help

I feel that this is a very idealistic view. People need to engage with all sorts of people and situations to grow in character and develop maturity through life experiences. The word “toxic” is thrown around a lot these days. I personally find love and growth in experiences of all types even negative people teach me things and I value that.

After reading the human laws, 48 laws of power & the art of seduction. I have learned that in order to spot signs of any kind of negativity or toxicity in others, you need to first recognize everything about how humans think, interact, feel etc and the start to learning these things is by recognizing your own self. Self awareness is key to understanding human nature and to understand others.
Thanks Robert Greene, I have learned so much about myself from your books, podcasts and conferences. My favorite author ✨

Eckhart Tolle likes to use the word spaciousness instead of emptiness. I really love this idea because it creates a different picture. Emptiness is more associated with something missing or a void that should be filled. Spaciousness indicates that there is something to explore.

I felt so less alone when he said we ALL have negativity, like I just thought I was maybe broken because I feel like I focus on negative things that I can’t control that have happened in the world or things that could happen. And I’m in an endless loop of realizing I need to stop doing this to myself and so I am a very quiet person with this stuff so I don’t drag others down with me. I enjoy my alone time a lot as well! It’s probably selfish so I can stew over things that bother me. I see how maybe I’m robbing myself of some joy. I have also felt like anytime I’ve been openly happy or wanted to express joy I have found it is not a welcomed energy or someone will say something and I would allow it to affect me because I used to hold others words/opinions in such high regard, but really they’re just full of their own negativity and it was spilling over…this was done by others when I was much younger and didn’t have much control over who I had surrounding me. This definitely led to me shutting down and avoiding larger groups, I definitely prefer and feel the value of one on one time with people. It feels healthier and balanced and able to leave people and myself hopefully happier. Work in progress.

I discovered something for myself that I would like to share. We all have that negative voice inside ourselves and I was tired of it. So I consciously thanked it for the input and said it was time for it to retire, so I was sending it to Thailand to enjoy a much needed break. The negative voice rarely shows up anymore and when it does, I simply say thanks for the concern but go back to the beach and enjoy yourself. It really worjs !!❤

i want to take mine out... i dont know how to get rid of it or accept it but i always push it and it keeps coming back... but here goes... i fear i might not make it, i fear i might not become successful enough that i can marry the love of my life and i am going to fail her... i am no where near success but damn closer to poverty and a negative thought through out my mind is inevitable and they just pop up... there are alot of things like im not kind, loving, generous, sarcastic but try too much to be one... most of the time i fear she is gonna leave me calling on my bluff but its not a bluff. i cant explain the genuinity of my love, my loneliness and my depressions... whenever i feel so discouraged or down i feel like im wasting her time... "what if" questions pop up... what if i dont reach my goals, what if i lose all, what if i become so lazy and start to procrastinate alot and lose all my progress in life, what if dropping out wasnt the answer, what if what if what if.... it goes on and on and on i rarely talk about them but i share them with my girl, sometimes, and i become so peaceful to hear her say its okay or we gonna pass through it... but i also fear the more i tell her all my fears my thoughts she is gonna hate me and then another door opens up and then another its so fucking tiring... whenever it gets worse i put on a song on full just to drown out the noise... this is my first time to rant about it for anyone ever and i dont really feel that much of ease or peace but its good to write it i guess... please dont pity me it will just make me feel worse...

You guys were talking about meaning and purpose. I came up with a saying years ago, as a teenager. It goes like this:
The meaning of life is whatever meaning you give it.
The purpose of life is to enjoy it.
The secret to life is don't take it so seriously.
    Knowing this is worthless.
    Understanding this is useless.
    Living it is priceless.
I think that might resonate with what you are both talking about.
Edit: I'm definitely going to check out Robert's books, (I already have yours, Jay) and I'm curious to check out the reconstructed ancient Greek music. If I ever get the chance I'd also love to visit Bhutan. Sounds amazing. No billboards, magazines, bus stos ads or any of that. Sign me up!

I’ve read the 48 laws of power in the past, and I just finished reading think like a monk. I love this interview it did a very great job interpreting life and human behaviors from both perspectives

Cool video, My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really loved him so much I can’t stop thinking about him, I’ve tried my very best to get him back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of him, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss him and just can’t stop thinking about him

its difficult to let go of someone you love, i was in a similar situation, my relationship of 12 years ended, but i couldnt just let him go i did all i could to get him back, i had to seek the help of a spiritual counselor who helped me bring him back.

If it's not simple to explain, you do not fully understand it. The books, concepts, while frustrating during the process, will become complete when they become simple to the author. I. think this is what I heard. Thank you gentlemen. I have found your discussion highly relatable, validating, and motivating.
