Hi
In this video I demonstrate what to do in order to reutilize a second hand BSI, or how to retrieve the pin code from your actual BSI module.
There is tools out there that can do this through the OBD port, which obviously is more practical.
At the end of the video I decide (that was actually the plan from the beginning...) to program rather than the virginized file, the actual dump from the original faulty BSI.
Reason why just before I press the write button the file changes...
But hopefully I managed to show you all the options.
Here is the link to the video on how to then program/code the blanked/Virginized BSI back to a car.

Hi. Is it possibel to send you my bsi for repairing? I have a citroen xsara where the sidelights doesn’t work. Which country are you from?
Hi
I am in the UK.
The problem is that I will not have how to test it, and I don't like to do repairs without be able to test the result...
If something does not goes as planned, I will not have how to tell, and then you will be receiving it back, to find out that is still no working...

Hello, good afternoon and congratulations on your professional and interesting contribution to your videos. I have a question if you would be so kind as to help me. I need to access the board of a control unit, it is an external tuner, of a motorcycle to be able to eliminate or release the Vin since when connecting to the motorcycle it is linked and does not allow me to use it for the other one that my father has. It is the Scream eagle super tuner model in case you know it or you can see the model on the web. I know it's possible but the person I knew because of illness is no longer dedicated to it. I would be very grateful if you could help me with something please
Hi
Unfortunately I have no experience at all with that...
I would guess the vin is stored in a eeprom or mcu on the module...
It might be possible to do it through some sort of interface rather than open the module...
Again, I never worked with anything like that...

Hi is the cluster with in the bsi unit or is it a separate unit? unfortunately I did what you said an put a bsi unit in and the milage has gone up I've taken it back and put my original one back in it drives but just the locking system is broken not sure what to do next the place I went to said it's a 50 50 chance if I could ever get my milage back any help would be greatly appreciated
Have you reset the BSI before you put it in?
Looks like you haven't...
The mileage is stored in the BSI and cluster...
The way you drop is down to the real mileage, is by virginize the BSI, and change the mileage on the cluster to the correct one...
Once you plug the blank BSI, the mileage from the cluster is transferred... so you ended up with the correct mileage on both...
Obviously the blank BSI will then needs to be programmed... you will also need new transponders and remotes...

4. Circuit from AC switch and AC blower checked and confirm Ok.

You need to remove the cluster and do it in there...
Put the cluster to zero miles, or anything below the original miles... Once you connect your BSI again, the miles will correct...
Unless you have already plugged your original BSI back in... which in that case, you made it worse.. and you need to modify the mileage on both now, the cluster and the BSI...

Hello!- Can you help me?- My problem:I read my BSI pin code with FVDI, but died something. This is berlingo B9. no ignition, dark my dash now. My BSI goes eco mode or died? Have you idea what it is?--thank you so much
thomas Admiral
Hi
Was that a Johnson Controls BSI?
yes :(
thomas Admiral
Unfortunately you might be in a bad position...
There is reports that FVDI corrupts those BSIs...
www.fvdiobd.com/fvdi-experience
Can you try to virginize it and then reprogram...
Have you lost communications with it?
yes,,don't see interface the bsi and the motor ECU too!-possible fuse problem? I don't save the bsi dump file,I have nothing.......hmmmm. I read a lot of idea, possible gone bsi safe mode?-thanks
And now deleted the eeprom in my bsi?.If i open it BSI and read the chip?-can I read something?
hello my friend, did u tested the bsi after virginize it? and how can we put the new pincode or it just take it from ecu? or must virgin ecu too? regards
Hi
Read the description of this video...
Hope that helps...
Thank you for watching!
Hi, Very good Video! I have a few questions for you : Can I read the eeprom with an universal programmer?for example I have a Mini Pro TL866A.Can I read it with this programmer? Can I connect the wires like your connections? Will it work?
Hi
It all depends on the bsi... some have an eprom, and some other ones have an MCU...
They are read differently...
Thank you for watching and for your comment!
@@LMAutoRepairs Hi, If I take the eeprom or mcu out from the board and I read it with my programmer, the resulting bin file is good? Or it must be readed with special tools?thank you!
@@fychy
You can do that...
👍
Hy, thanks for the video. I have a problem with the central locking system and I suspect that the problem is coming from the BSI. I have a C4. The problem is that I can lock the doors with the remote key and it works perfectly, no problem at all. However, when it comes to unlock the doors with the remote key, it doesn't work except the boot. The button on the dash does exactly the same as the remote key. Press it once and all the doors lock. Press again and the repeater lights flash but the locks stay locked - no clunks or other noises. The receiver also clearly works as the side repeater lights flash briefly when both the lock and unlock buttons on the key are pressed. The snag is the unlock process seems to stop there. I have read in some forums that it is a BSI problem, to be more exactly relays faults. So what they do to solve this problem is to remove (unwelding) the relays that control the central locking system and put some other relays or change completely the upper board as it appears to be non-unique, so changeable for any other board. This upper board contains a number of relays which amplify the signals from the computer. The only unique board that contains the VIN and all the programming is the lower board so unchangeable. My question is, do you know what relays control the central locking system? Could you please send me a photo, if you know which the relays I am looking for are? Sorry for my English I am from France, lol.
Thanks.
JJ sam
Hi
That's correct... the mains circuit board can be changed on its own...
Which relay actuates the central locking, depends on the BSI type... there is different makers even on cars of the same year... so it all depends on which one is fitted on you car...
Ok, Thanks.
Sorry to disturb you again. I took a look to my BSI and the reference of the BSI I have the problem with is this one: 9661940480 BSI 2004 H05-0131006. If there is any chance you can help me identifying the relay that controls the central locking system that would be nice of you.
hi and thank you for your awesome videos.
Could you please suggest some good softwares for deleting DPF/EGR from ECU file?
Software on which you can load the file which was extracted from ECU, and delete DPF or EGR.
Thanks.
diesel parts
To read the ECU there is loads, but all depends on the ECU it self...
From KESS to K-Tag, Galetto, piasini etc...
To delete the DPF from the map, that's a bit more tricky... you can easily get hold of the ECU safe and volta... but they are limited and not always work... there is more out there just Google it... The best way to delete the dpf though, is manually with winols for example... but that requires experience and know about maps etc... hope that answers your question...
Hi
Can you supply the pin code Peugeot e-Expert 2021?
No...
Great video, loads of info.
Could you help with wire install for citroen picasso bsi
have carprog maybe clone, where can i find wire colour codes
so i can solder onto 95160 eeprom
paul lee
Hi
If the eeprom is accessible, better to remove it, do the work and put it back on...
With car prog, you have some documentation that tells you what wire colour is what... from there you need to know which bsi you are working with...
Can you access the eeprom?
Hi
Interesting video.
I have 307hdi that had the neg battery terminal corrode away.
I replaced battery and terminal..reset everything now all works but front wipers and resetting day/date on facia.
Is this a bsi fault? The wipers certainly seem to be??
Hi
Check basics first...
Fuses etc...
You can gave a better idea if you check it with the scanner connected... so you can look at some live data etc...
Thank you for watching and for your comment!
@@LMAutoRepairs
Hi
Replaced com switch and checked wiper operating.. All OK. Replaced underbonnet fuse box and check operation.. All good there. Just seems odd that the bsi spiked on the wiper control?
@@harwoods11
Ok...
It might be the BSI...
One thing, have you applied 12v directly to the wiper motor?
Does it runs?
Hi
Thanks for reply. Yes.. The wiper motor works when connected from an outside power supply.
Is it poss to fit a second hand bsi?
@@harwoods11
Hi
Yes... but needs to be virginized first...

hi brilliant video, could i ask some advice. I have a 2001 406 hdi 2.0 estate and the bsi has burnt out on a couple of tracks i repaired them but i still have lost dash service indicator and mfd, the wipers and central locking. Car did start and run with these faults but it now only turns over cranking. Would i be best off trying to find a 2nd hand bsi and virginizing it, then inputting using planet2000 the vin and pin that i got from peugeot?
davedree
Hi
You can do that... should work.
You can try to take the pin from your actual BSI... providing you have the tools...
Good luck...
Hi, could you get the pin code from the ecu bin file?
peugeot 807 2004
Go on my forum...
👍👍👍
Thank you for watching and for your comment!
I have done it from the bin file from a 206 BSI... but it's a real ball ache. The software used here is a zillion times faster than the time it took my feeble brain cells to wrestle with the hex codes and then squeaky bum times programming the key in case my hex to ascii calculation was wrong... but it worked! Not sure I'll use that method again when there is a software solution like this though.
Hi sir im problem with my bsi modul for citreon 2006 c2 after pulling immo eprom not getting comunication from bsi why?
How did you read the eprom?
Yes I read the eprom to the pincode to code key that's all was getting coms but not showing vin anymore on my lonsdor
With vvdiprog desolder it
I unsolder the 95160 eprom from bsi then xtracted it normal then I use lonsdor to code key lonsdor accept pincode but it don't show the vin number cos the first time I tried it I did pull vin but after takeibg bsi eprom im having issses
i have to ask something but i dont know any other place for that so i hope you can give me some ideas in here. my bro has 2004 citroen c2 1.4. cooling fan was not working but car was running well. we took the cooling fan out and fixed it. But after that engine didnt run again, it was just cranking. i guessed that its imobilizer problem. i sent the car to who can do ecu repairs bcz i dont have any tools for that. As i guessed it was imo. He sad i fixed it by cancelling imo which is non sense solution. anyways car came to me, cooling fan working non stop even car is off too. plus engine is not going over 3000 rpm, its running in service mode i assume. Also remote key sometimes locking doors and sometimes dont(this one was exist before repairs too). so what can i do for this car? i think its all about Bsi but you know better so if you can help i can be happy a lot. Thanks i hope you can answer.
Taskin Yucekurt
Hi
Start by scan the car and look carefully at the live data...
Depending on the findings, follow the fans circuit...
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for great videos and help man. Its being hard to find citroen c2 diagrams in softwares like cardata or haynes vivid. Do you know any other one? diagram methode is so silly on peugeot and citroen. Not cable colors just numbers. Its also mentioning another control circuit in engine side fuse box too. is it true? sorry if i asked a lot.
Hi
Most likely... the ecu will probably ground the cooling fans circuit, which usually is in the engine relay box...
The citroen diagrams are usually traced by the numbers indeed...
Just had a quick look... Autodata does have the diagrams...
The circuit is slightly different, depending on whether you have AC or not...
Either way the system does have a cooling fan control module, which is controlled by the engine ecu on plug B pin J4 wire 1540 and F2 wire 1599B (1599A for the AC)
Hope that helps.

Hi Thanks for advise, i will check it out on weekend. I found diagram on autodata 3,45 you were right about pin numbers. I got the point but i just confused about Fan harness cuz it has 2 harness on fan plus socket type relay stays over fan too. tiny harness has 3 cables, main socket has 2 cables and obviously relay has cables 4 and fan has somekind device on it, i think its speed control unit. i made temporarly solution last weekend. i put a relay between battery and fan, i used fuel pump fuse socket as relay trigger. But you know with this way fan always working while engine is running. I think they messed up ecu with wrong or faulty software during immo canceling.Tps works faulty too,it has somekind buzz sound and car in limp mode,it was fine before their mess. I cdnt find original bin file on internet. I have old school eprom programmer but im thinking about ordering carprog.
great vid, can you please upload links to softwares and upload to a site for all, just put links in description(megaupload or such) you can also read the code if your good with hex editors right?

Hi are you not able to access the pins via the connector, so that you don't solder on the board
Donovan Bent
Hi
Not really... for that you do it through the OBD port... but that is a different tool...
Hi Mister
You say on your comments : "There is tools out there that can do this through the OBD port, which obviously is more practical. " How to extract the PIN code from ODB2 port. I have Lexia3 cables and Diagbox program, can i do with them or is needed any other app ?
Lexia is the OEM tool... Will not do it..
Look for PSA tool... rare to find though...
Abrites is another option... but horror stories out there...
Thank you for watching and for your comment.
@@LMAutoRepairs were you able to find and test someone of this apps ? The dealer extract the PIN code from VIN number ?
@@MrLeofezollari
I believe they have them on a database...
If i read the pin from old BSI and program the new (2nd hand) Ecu with the same PIN like BSI , if will runs everything normal? (i use the same soft like you) The old ecu is destroyed and haven't got way to get the info from there :(
You need to virgin the replacement, end then program it with the car pin...
