Visualization of LIDAR data

- Integrated data from Velodyne 64HD lidar and 5 SICK lidars using a Oxford Technical Solutions GPS package. Data was taken around 2007, during preparation to the DARPA Urban Challenge Competition.
Wow, beautiful and really demonstrates what light is to our eyes and the potential for real world VR. So much potential.
This is only for people work to programmed the futures driver less cars
It all looks like some nicely made game!
...wait a second.
They should do a videogame with similar visualization. Spooky and awesome
That car is Daredevil
i'd love to drive my car from this point of view. It just seems so much safer, at non-highway speeds anyway.
I get that it doesn't benefit the system very much (arguably some rare decision making advantages) but it would be cool if a system plotting and rendering it later(like thisbvideo) would use past data to fill in shadows
Today 2021 is where some people started working on labeling the entities to differntiate object shadows for the future autopilot cars
If water pour on ground and good infrared vision could read underground deep enough for certain purpose, and two line of metal plate on two sides of the area scan one line had solid metal plates and the opposite with hollow in centrer plates then the scan image could be improved much more
I can't seem to understand. Can you explain further? Are you talking about LIDAR usage above ground or below? And how would pouring water on the ground enhances the scan image?
9 años ya tiene esa tecnología ?
Interesting. How did you integrate Velodyne HDL-64E lidar using Oxford Technical Solutions GPS package?
What Framework/Tool is used to visualize the data?
Hello, did you learn?
more over 150000 dollar is now the price of Lidar velodyne
hi, what indicates magenta(front of car) and yellow(behind the car) line?
DavisOfAllTrades : every color represents point cloud data from different Lidars. White one is from Velodyne 64-laser Lidar. Other ones are planar lidars made by Sick.
A speculation in addition to the OP's comment - I think it is used as the boundary for the car as in other objects should not be within the magenta line as shown @0:20
@@kushlik in 2021 i called it bee lidar
When I run the code, the error occurs:
File "kitti_lidar.py", line 37, in
dataset = pykitti.raw(basedir, date, drive, frame_range)
TypeError: init() takes 4 positional arguments but 5 were given
How do I fix it?
Jeremy Liu pass 4 arguments instead of 5.😉
dude, question, what is the minimum specs in pc needed for lidar?
Whats with the are near around the vehicle? It's not covered by the LIDAR. Which system monitors this area?
Matslz the smaller parking sensors
The system of bone in pedestrians' kneecaps.
may i know what is the minimum specs in pc needed for lidar?
8gb of ram
I'd have real trouble driving myself if this was all I could see
well that is not aaall it can see ......but we do see somewhat like that we just get a ton of light in our eyes and the brain has learned to recognise different stuff
After you realize this is what the robot in your auto pilot car would see
is there a way to build a Lidar system like the one in the video which does exactly the same thing but having no moving parts inside of it (full solid state)? The spinning mirror is definitely something to be replaced with something which does not move nor rotate...
I'm not an engineer of any kind... just an artist & musician & nerd technology fan, but yeah it seems like there's got to be some way of updating this technoogy to a solid-state format... that would be so cool!!!
technoogy??? hahaha... *technology (of course)
+EDWARD J. FOX NOOGY NOOGY NOOGY
Basic I understand this... however my question was related to the possibility of actually building such a system (no moving parts).. If this is possible... then I got my answer... Still..could you please explain how those "other approaches" work(small viewing angles, etc.)? Thank you..
Basic
It helps..TNX :)
I just saw this thing fly over my house it freaked me out a wide green lazarbeam scanned me and my house then disappeared, looked like it was coming from a satellite(702)........
Super!!!
House of cards, Radiohead
lol who is the one downvote? Grandpa is that you?
probably
Lidar data 7 years ago
why is it so spider web?
How? Source? Download? Anything :)
Do they have this tech here for Covid tracing? lol uhhh think about that. I always have a bit too much to think.
this one its the best for goverment to taking care the corrupt person
I can't understand what you said. Why it is related to the corrupt person?
@@lihang1326 maybe you're right. At least a brief amount of seconds of thought just spent on this suggested to me that probably, indeed, one would have more to fear from the more prevalent, cheaper infrared and visible light spectrum cameras.
@@lihang1326 ... hm, perhaps, maybe some kind of situation unrepresented in the video, though, like maybe identifying an otherwise well vision- and heat-camouflaged remotely located structure hiding something corrupt? (I don't care enough to know / find out if that spittballed concept actually makes valid sense though.)
Hmm that is crazy.
i want to know about your pc requirements. plz tell me about your ram, cpu, gpu, ssd or hdd, motherboard? If you give me the details, it will be of great help to me.
Damn, they can scan what i'v eaten Lol!

This technology absolutely going to fail
, japanese have Invisible coat came out first
, too bad some self-drive car might roll over random passerby who try to wear that suit in the future.
This tech has far, far more use than what is visualized here. It can be used to create indices of entire farms; measuring leaf area & trunk size, mapping trees, counting nuts. It's incredible.
Ok probably I'm not good at talking joke.
If u are on drugs...less might be advisable.. if you arnt... u might want to try what your doc is offering
