Excellent..sounds just right. I currently own a 1965 RT4 backdraft shelby cobra with a 427 as well and sounds almost identical. Raw power that will distroy anything on the road. Super video and fabulous gear up and down shifting. Also a great road picked to put the cobra through the paces..😎👍👌🍻

Yeah, I can confirm it’s good fun. But one tends to drive rarely more than 50 miles in one stroke …as it can get a bit exhausting over time. But nevertheless…a rewarding drive 👍🏼

The amount people are concerned about a speedometer cable is mind boggling. Car looks fun.

At 0:17 , that bouncing speedo needle is a sign of a kinked speedo cable, the installed radius being "too sharp"....the inner cable is rubbing on the inside sheath & this "bouncing" will get worse & worse over time. This requires the cable being replaced with a longer version, the cable being rerouted so as to not make sharp bends, but rather large gentle sweeping bends.

Is there a reason the needle on the speedo bounces around so much? It seems very sensitive

    • @jeremypike9153
      @jeremypike9153 Год назад +4

It's a mechanical speedometer. Uses a cable and gear at each end. The backlash or any play in the tailshaft bushings in the transmission will cause the needle to bounce. It's a pretty normal thing to see with mechanical speedometers.

You don't see a lot of these cars doing track days. Incredibly difficult to drive quickly in the bends. Squirting down back roads in straight lines is probably the best bet?

    • @maxpinson5002

      If that's a genuine Cobra, it'll
stick to the pavement like velcro. Really no need to let
off the throttle so much in those mild curves in the video.
The public is just used to the
      squishy comfy suspension on
      the regular production vehicles
we drive. A real race ready vehicle would be objectionable
to most drivers because of the
      harsh suspension. Not made
      for passenger comfort, but to
make the vehicle stick to the
      road

Speedometer cable either needs some lube or needs to be replaced. That said, a speedo is pretty useless, should just drive by the tach.
