Purchased my Superformance MK111 new in May 2003, replaced two speedos lost track of the miles somewhere near 100,000 now. Turned 82 in January the car is a part of me, slowed down a tad yet I'm still nervous with excitement when it calls me from the garage with a Roush modified 351 Windsor and Tremec 5 speed with Jordan shifter. Lets hope the weather is good this weekend.
A guy came to our car club cars-and-coffee breakfast yesterday driving a 427 one of these in a similar color scheme. It came in, every head turned. If parked, every dude in the car club walks over, lol. He was generous with his time answering questions. A Whole pile of MG owners were not even a little interested in racing this guy.
Great job on this video, you clearly can speak without speaking. Love the passion and I will have one of these some day. The assault on the senses must be driving nirvana. Good luck with the channel!
Great job over all, and such an excellent choice of car to review. One suggestion would be to add a camera behind your shoulder to give a driver’s perspective 😉
Mine is almost exactly the same as in the video. The only thing I don't like about it is there's no power steering. It's OK on the street but it would be impossible at autocross. Fortunately, I also have a Factory Five Cobra - it kicks the Superformance's ass as far as handling, but it's a brutal ride. You feel every bump, and you last no longer than an hour in it. I could drive my Superformance coast-to-coast.
Although they are built in S Africa, they are still an American company! As far as I'm concerned Superformance is an American company because the total drive train is installed in the USA!
@@Thisshitisbs here I'll talk slowly for you.....the AC aces, which were converted into cobras in California, were built in England...if you would like me to draw it in crayon so you better understand it I can..🙃
Nice video but too much "You" and not enough "car." I think it would have been enjoyed more (and a lot better use of your battery life) if you spent more time going over the car, which is iconic and deserves a detailed description. Other than that, pretty good video!
These have been reviewed countless times on Y.T. Even the dancing African kids in underware from memes have reviewed. They determined kit cars suck. Why review again?
Negative reviews are left all the time, even on videos that don't deserve it. So many are pointless and could have been avoided by just skimming past. So why write a negative review again?
Interesting take... the term "kit car" gets a bad rap. Sure, there are horribly constructed kit cars that insult the originals. But that's not always the case. Companies like Superformance, Backdraft Racing, and Factory Five Racing make [replicas] that are far superior to the original in every way. From your view, the originals should be categorized as kit cars because they were not mass produced and had build quality issues. You can appreciate the heritage and legacy of the original while admiring and respecting the replicas.
Depreciating? I have owned SP01715 since 2006. I could sell it today for at least 30% more than I paid for it. One of the few "toys" I have owned that has gone up in value.
@@JimmyReviewsCars def had a feeling between the reddish rocks and the sagebrush! Thanks for the reply looks like you had a hell of a time keep it up you’ll be able to get one of your own someday

Thanks for sharing your story. I’m having a Backdraft Cobra delivered next week. I’m 55 and want my 80’s to be exactly like yours. ❤️

To me the Cobra has always been special because my eyes and ears work perfectly
Excellent video, I’ve had mine 4 months now. Every time I drive it it’s an incredible experience.
Well done young man ,I think most car guys understand what you are saying and feel the love.

You are so lucky in US. I live in Dominican Republic and there's none! One day I will have enough money to import one...
Great video man. Well done

Thank you for a cool video 👊
Good job Jimmy!
Beautiful car
😍👍
Is that Southern Oregon?
That was some JV shifting.
Price??
Superformance claims it is an American company, but its cars are built in South Africa, not the USA.
By that logic then Shelby American was never an American company since the cars were built in England.....
I have one it was built in south Africa ❤

@@phenom573 wrong the original Shelby’s were built in Southern California

It would have been nicer to be looking forward as you were driving. Rather than on the grill looking back.
I agree. I wish I did a better job of capturing this drive, but it’s a learning process!

@NoPro - depreciating upon delivery is superior?
If you can’t afford one just say so…
