- Taking the 65’ Shell Valley out for a spin.
This Cobra is powered by a small block Chevy 427 with AFR 200 heads, comp cams, forged rods and pistons, and other good stuff. Puts power to the ground with a Tremec TKO 600 and a Ford 9” with Eaton gears.
We haven’t dyno’d it but it’s likely between 500 and 600hp. At slow speeds and low gears in this video I am accelerating at no more than 1/2 throttle (more just causes excessive wheel spin). At higher speeds on the freeway in 3rd I can go to about 3/4 throttle without spinning the rear tires.
And yes, that is fire coming out of the pipes.

Beautiful. Sounds awesome.
Thanks! I couldn’t agree more
The car deserves a Ford engine.
Heresy to put anything but a Ford engine into such a beautiful car.
@@edwardpape5819ford didn’t even make the car
@@loganrandell6373 Thank you captain obvious. Why does there always have to be one like you...
@@edwardpape5819I dont see any engine shots, what makes you think it's not a 427 FE engine?
@@nicholastrawinski Because the video says it's Chevy (ugh) powered.
Duh.
The car that they used to make the Banshee sound from GTA III
Or from gta san andreas the pulasky's buffalo car
@@g60watercooled also FCR-900 and Bandito but more average sounding and I didn’t expect the infernus from GTA SA have this sound
@@Pkmn_mlp_sonic_fnaf_fan the fcr-900 and bandito sounds very nice👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Very Nice! I've had mine for just a year now.
Bill Bergey 66 In Shelby Heaven!! Awesome!!
My actual dream car...
That's what a new Mustang 5.0 should sound like
You don't hear much about Shell Valley replicas. This one looks VERY good (stance is perfect IMO) and whoever did the paint made it look like the car's body is made of aluminum (at least the video makes it look that way). Using a GM engine is a little questionable, though. But in all seriousness, it sounds great!
I agree, the proportions on the shell valley are nice. The coil overs were dialed in pretty nicely. Would look even better with the goodyear bias tires since they’re about an inch wider front and back
no wonder why this sounds deeper in my speakers, it got an LS 😅
7.8 chevy turbo n nos and blueberry muffins on the passanger seat 😊
👍🏿nice
One of all time dream machines.. mine will be the 427, in metallic black cherry red w/ deep gold stripes. Drive it to home games in Seattle(sprin/summer/early fall)and I live in Colorado.
Everyone waiting for the flame coming from the exhaust

Shelby 427 Cobras had the Ford FE 427.
@fjohnson9749 - The 427 S/Cs had the 427. Most 427 street Cobras sold to the public had milder, less expensive 428 engines in them.
Is it a chevy LS7 or one of the older small blocks?
It’s a World Product small block 427, so based on the engines from the 1960’s
@@JDKoosRacing Thanks, is it also what type of cobra kit is it?
Shell Valley. There are also some other details in the video description
❤
Enough hp to accelerate straight ahead with the cobra. The engine is of course far too heavy to make a decent bend. Too much oversteer with such heavy powerhouse in the nose.
That about sums it up. Although it would look terrible, the car would benefit a lot from having some serious rear wing downforce, and some 335mm soft rubber
Cool car and great video, but you lost me with what was originally intended to be a Ford engine compartment.
So, how do you remove that smile off his face ? LOL!
Flashing red lights in the rear view mirror…
idk why people are complaining
it doesnt matter if its a chevy v8 at least it gets the job done
Sorry mate, but it is outright sacrilege to put any engine other than a Ford in this most iconic American race car, especially something from Geriatric Motors, who declined to provide Carroll Shelby with their engines before he went to Ford! Try putting a Ford engine in an original Corvette Grand Sport and see what degree of "complaining" you get! You shouldn't screw with the original heritage of an iconic machine.
@@Loulovesspeedfair but ig this is close enough
@@ٴ-ق1ت - Sorry, but I totally disagree! Close enough isn't at all respectful to the Cobra's heritage and lineage. There are still plenty of Ford blocks available in all sizes so no excuse there. The car's development was funded by Ford and the "Powered by Ford" emblem on the front fenders attests to that!
Yea as soon as I read it had a chevy engine in it I turn this shit off!
Exactly I love that just for some get back Rob Dahm took one of their precious vettes, sold the boring paperweight ls and dropped a rotary in it 😂 people fell outta their new balances when he took it to a vette meet!
All right!! Now that's what I call staunch, unwavering, Shelby dedication!. The original Shelby Cobra had a chance to be powered by Chevy, but thankfully it didn't happen!
@@Loulovesspeed don't get me wrong their big blocks are great for nitrous applications! They just never progress until every other company works the bugs out lol perfect example is when Toyota came to Nascar and realized they needed a pushrod V8 they had to call engineers outta retirement to come help design it lmao meanwhile chevy isn't capable of anything but that! Trying to explain to a bowtie boy why a Ford coyote is so wide, about the 4 cams with variable timing and lift, better off explaining nitrous saturation points to a cat lol!
존나 멋지다
I'm the 69th view :)
Very nice
Yawn🥱
Yeah a little, but have you seen all the other cobra “turn the volume up” videos on RUclips? I felt like RUclips really needed some actual rpm runs compared to the many I used to watch that were literally just a guy driving across a parking lot at idle
