Ooo, that's a lot of surface lava (for this game, anyway). Lava on the surface is quite rare, in my experience. Basalt does indicate a volcanic region, but there's rarely any actual consequences of that... If you would prefer to play with the map/minimap, I for one would be fine with you turning it on. I don't remember offhand if homo sapiens mode lets you enable it from the options in the pause menu, or if you need to use commands. Small tip: You can light a torch with a firestarter if you don't want to (or can't) make a campfire.
If you make packed dirt blocks or other crafted blocks they stack a lot better. You can use it to build up a place away from the wolf where you stand if you jump while placing it under you.

You can enable/disable any game setting with commands, but for this series I'm going to stick with the default homo sapiens mode. Thanks for watching!

I'm half tempted to start a mode like this with the pliestocene creatures mod, but I don't wanna get mauled by giant cats and wolves.
