  • While crickets, grubs and insect eggs might not top your list of snack foods, they pop up in cuisine around the world, and they just might be the key to a greener planet.
Interpretation for TEDxSalem 2017 was provided by student interns through a collaboration between Western Oregon University, TEDxSalem, and the Deaf and interpreting communities of Oregon. The volunteer student interpreters were supported by volunteer, certified interpreters in order to minimize potential errors. Your support of these pre-professional interpreters’ growing skills is appreciated.
Yesenia Gallardo is an environmentalist and insect entrepreneur who seeks to further the dialogue about food and sustainability. She is a graduate of Yale University.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

Going to stick to my plant based diet. BTW for carnivores, whole foods makes a killer General Tso's soy nuggets. Soy protien has better synthesis than casein.

Land shrimp! And they can solve world hunger! If you’ve ever gone hungry do you understand the importance of this ethical necessity it is time sensitive. When can we get some righteous master chefs to create a solution to world hunger? That’s what I wanna know

Give a hungry human a plate of bugs or a steak and see which he/she chooses.

This, more of this! Not light years, just get it done and make it happen. Put it on the shelves and give away cookbooks. You can not make a thing happen if access is not offered. :-
