Market Update 3/6/2022- The price of the tradeable t3 Mats have fallen a lot in the past few days and the price of the Excavation mats have risen. Now it's less profitable to make T3 maps in Stronghold. The main benefit of making maps is now the chance of getting the Rarer Craft Kits, so if you are a fan of chancing for the super rare rewards, t3 maps are still a good choice. Otherwise it's better to sell the loot from excavation. Wanted to post this quick update to let people know.
To get the better of beeing on T3 for excavating you should excavate in a T3 zone right? If you are T3 ilvl but excavate lets say in Azure Wind Island , will you ever get T3 excavate materials? Thanks for the video and the information YiGuy! :)
Something I feel you may have slept on a bit in regards to leap's essence: You can pop a leap's essence right before roughly every other 5x minigame for significant rewards while reducing how much life energy is burned on regular excavation. I think you'll find the returns are quite high with this method as excavation takes incredible advantage of it by ransoming the buff for those huge doubled minigame rewards.
does the rarity of your excavation tool/stats affect the chest rng from crafted maps? Idk if i've been super lucky but out of 20 maps I crafted I received 4 master craft kits. Currently using a relic tool btw

So I have been doing excavating since launch and Im at lvl 39, here are the few things I did and noticed, I bought all the energy potions in Mari Shop (not sure if Gold/Crystal is worth on your server) I ginded to the Minigame skill as fast as possible and then did around 15 lvls over time on Azure Island saving most of my Mats and tried to save up lots of the potions for T3, When I got to T3 I crafted 28 Punika Maps which made me around 19k Gold(No Mastercraftkit drop sad) with mostly T3 Enhance stuff sold, I found my nice little spot where Im mostly alone at Night right now so I let you figure that spot out yourself I do not agree on the dog its the worst skill, never use it wasting so much energy, Minigame is where its at. Never use the Multiple Potion, 3k Energy wasted, these Mats you got there I get with

Yes definitely! For Platinum field it's actually recommended to save them for later, until you eventually have 30 Foraging. While Excavation is good, Foraging is best for Platinum field specifically.
Hey man, great guide! Followed! Just a question, sorry if its already been asked, I've done 15+ maps so far and gotten nothing more than the basic mats and about 20 Solars, nothing else, does my Skill Level make a difference to what the chests in the maps drop? I'm level 24 Excavation
It does, higher lvl excavation will give bonus to rarity etc. But it will depend on your server price. if the price of honing protection crash too much, it might become better to sell off mats.
I've been actually waiting to test it out. I'm getting as many skills as possible to 30, then gonna do a comparison between different platinum field strategies.
if you fail the mini game you can simply press ESC. then wait for the relic to disapear and dig it agian for another chance, just be warry of your mini game timer :)

To be honest I couldn't find enough data, even from KR and RU versions of the game. No one knows for sure, but most grinders I know still go fo best tool and pop doggo skill inside map to stack the bonus.

I've talked to many Korean version grinders and other NA excavators, no one has enough data to conclude for sure if the bonuses are working(since the bonuses are small %) but so far we all equip bonus tools and summon doggo when doing maps.

There are 2 ways to approach it. You can sell off all the materials from excavation, which is solid reliable profit(especially if you are good at the minigame) Or you can use them to craft maps, which is more of a gamble but have high potential pay off, but at the risk of getting unlucky.

no worries. So you have to choose between using your own materials or selling the materials. It will depend on if you want to gamble on the crafted maps or not. It will be either consistent profit from selling, or riskier profit from making the maps.
amazing video, I also got the leap potion/old relic/perfect combo and got 600 gold in one hit - that was with a green tool. I have a minigame 3 Gold tool but might spam some purples for the normal digs.
I went up 10 levels really fast in this (10-20 in 1 hour). Found a spot in Bilbrin forest and I would use my mount to get around using that sonar for the blip over my head and run around the map on my mount.
Quick question, i thought the T2 moon's breat u get from the maps were tradable but for some reasons i think it's not the case/not anymore ? Do you have info on that ? maybe it's only for T3 mats now ? Thx for answers

Sorry to hear about your frustration with Bots! If it makes you more hopeful, they're doing stuff to combat the bots now. Previously they were unprepared because in Korean Version you need your Citizen ID to register for game, so bots are practically impossible. In the western release they didn't do enough initially, but now they've changed the rewards in earlier continents.(which led to a lot of broken bot scripts, so if you see a ton of bots standing by same npc, it's cause their script no longer works) I'm hopeful they'll find more solutions in the future too.

You didn't complete the either-or :D I am really missing that self-part. Otherwise extremely well made, indepth and easy to use video (time stamps). Luv it. These indepth and quality videos is what I am missing nowadays, I will subscribe and unsub some others. Well, I'm just a casual (I play about 3-4 days maybe per week max) but for investigating on what I want to know you seem to be the perfect fit, explaining for every level and all the way up. I take it step by step. The game has much potential for new players coming in and out, and this kind of video is what they will appreciate, when they are curious on Excavating. Getting better with it, and the best of what they can out of it. 11/10. (cause no one is perfect and this guide is as good as 11/10 otherwise IMO)
The craft kits are rewards from the crafted maps from stronghold, the higher rarity ones are super rare. (right now those maps are bit risky to make profitwise)
At current prices I just sell the materials, the maps at yorn/feiton level are mostly losing money unless I get another gold tool. I really want a perfect relic!!! I will spam that in sea chat all day XD
Does the rarity of your excavating tool affect the arch maps ? Also , does your level in excavating increase it aswell ? Given the fact that they are pretty much an instance where u just open up a chest , not actually excavating .
Actually no one has gathered enough data to prove one way or the other significantly. But people still try to stack the bonuses, and pop the doggo skill inside maps.

It will definitely depend on the market price. As the price of the T3 honing protection materials fall, it will be less profitable to craft then. And you shouldn't craft t2 maps if you don't need to use Moon's breath etc.
I'm not sure if I overheard it or if someone in the comments allready said it (not reading all). Just a little tip. If you miss the first or second crystal of the minigame you can press ESC and do it again on the next node.

They are mostly found in T3 zones. Azure wind is too low lvl for it.

For the actual maps you don't need the energy. You can go in, and pop the sniffer dog skill, open the chest and hope for good rng

I compared my loot with my friend who did Feiton, there wasn't much difference.

When video came out there was no South Vern maps. I tested out a few South Vern maps, but they don't seem to give more than Punnika.

One thing to mention, if you buy a potion which x2 your durability/gain you save time, but you o x2 less excavations so less minigames
Less mini games but double the rewards. If you can get perfects it is worth it
So if I got this straight, the profit comes from selling the rewards from the excavation maps, which are crafted with excavation materials? Or do you also sell some excavation materials?
There are 2 ways to approach it. You can sell off all the materials from excavation, which is solid reliable profit(especially if you are good at the minigame) Or you can use them to craft maps, which is more of a gamble but have high potential pay off, but at the risk of getting unlucky.

Just selling off the materials, you'll make 1-2k every full Trade Skill energy bar depending on your server and how good you are at minigame.

no worries. So you have to choose between using your own materials or selling the materials. It will depend on if you want to gamble on the crafted maps or not. It will be either consistent profit from selling, or riskier profit from making the maps.
amazing video, I also got the leap potion/old relic/perfect combo and got 600 gold in one hit - that was with a green tool. I have a minigame 3 Gold tool but might spam some purples for the normal digs.
I went up 10 levels really fast in this (10-20 in 1 hour). Found a spot in Bilbrin forest and I would use my mount to get around using that sonar for the blip over my head and run around the map on my mount.

Quick question, i thought the T2 moon's breat u get from the maps were tradable but for some reasons i think it's not the case/not anymore ? Do you have info on that ? maybe it's only for T3 mats now ? Thx for answers
T3 mats are tradeable and T2 are not. T2 is mainly useful if you plan to use them in your honing.

I usually do Secret Forest. You can try Niheltalop's Thoughts island, but I dunno if that'll be crowded :O

Hey, thanks for the tutorial, I have one question, is it possible to get +3 at the mini game on epic excavating tools ? I see that you have +3 on your legendary, I crafted several epic, but never managed to get +3 (max +2) I want to know if I should stop trying or not.
based on the rarity, the value of bonus they can roll is also diff. I believe you need Legendary for +3. (and Relic for +4)

If it makes you more hopeful, they're doing stuff to combat the bots now. Previously they were unprepared because in Korean Version you need your Citizen ID to register for game, so bots are practically impossible. In the western release they didn't do enough initially, but now they've changed the rewards in earlier continents.(which led to a lot of broken bot scripts, so if you see a ton of bots standing by same npc, it's cause their script no longer works)
I'm hopeful they'll find more solutions in the future too.

Otherwise extremely well made, indepth and easy to use video (time stamps). Luv it. These indepth and quality videos is what I am missing nowadays, I will subscribe and unsub some others. Well, I'm just a casual (I play about 3-4 days maybe per week max) but for investigating on what I want to know you seem to be the perfect fit, explaining for every level and all the way up. I take it step by step. The game has much potential for new players coming in and out, and this kind of video is what they will appreciate, when they are curious on Excavating. Getting better with it, and the best of what they can out of it.

The craft kits are rewards from the crafted maps from stronghold, the higher rarity ones are super rare. (right now those maps are bit risky to make profitwise)
At current prices I just sell the materials, the maps at yorn/feiton level are mostly losing money unless I get another gold tool. I really want a perfect relic!!! I will spam that in sea chat all day XD

Does the rarity of your excavating tool affect the arch maps ? Also , does your level in excavating increase it aswell ? Given the fact that they are pretty much an instance where u just open up a chest , not actually excavating .
Actually no one has gathered enough data to prove one way or the other significantly. But people still try to stack the bonuses, and pop the doggo skill inside maps.

It will definitely depend on the market price. As the price of the T3 honing protection materials fall, it will be less profitable to craft then. And you shouldn't craft t2 maps if you don't need to use Moon's breath etc.
I'm not sure if I overheard it or if someone in the comments allready said it (not reading all). Just a little tip. If you miss the first or second crystal of the minigame you can press ESC and do it again on the next node.
